Lovely food but really terrible service. The main host was friendly but we were taken upstairs by another male who just pointed at our table and walked off. We sat upstairs and the restaurant was very quiet. The waitress came over about 15 minutes later and her English was quite poor so making special requests for orders was very difficult. The waitresses seemed too busy restocking their bar area and it was difficult to get their attention to get the bill and it was a further 10 minutes before she brought the card machine. We felt like an inconvenience and not very welcomed. The food and wine was lovely but the overall experience was spoilt by the service. We returned here as it was two years ago since we had been on or first date here but I don't think we'll be returning again!
Delicious food and nice atmosphere. Service was a bit slow at points.
We really enjoyed our meal however service was quite slow and only certain wait staff would take drinks orders.
The overall experience at the restaurant was great, and made better as we had lovely weather to sit outside. The starters and mains that we had were great, however I was slightly disappointed by the dessert. The nutella calzone was one of the reasons I chose the place for my wifes birthday, however it wasn't what I expected as there was only a limited amount of filling, leaving us eating mainly dough.
I have passed Trattoria Sapori every day on my way in and out of work for nearly 3 years but didn't visit until last Friday. It always looked so inviting so I decided the time was right to try it out. Unfortunately the food did not live up to expectations. Our pizzas were bland and the tiramisu was so bad we didn't even finish it... and my husband and I love tiramisu and find it hard to leave anything on a plate.
It was really disappointing as we had high expectations. The restaurant itself is very cosy and inviting but the food lets it down.
No pasta which was a disappointment for some guests, very nice decor good pizzas.
Great pizzas, really delicious!
Friendly energetic staff and a nice ambience .
Great. Relaxed and good for a catch up, but not great value for money.
Lovely local italian with nice authentic dishes as well as tasty pizzas. Good wine list.
Great service, delicious food and fantastic menu. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic, charming little place. Great food, friendly efficient service. Slight mix-up with one of the orders which was fixed quickly without a fuss. A really lovely evening.
Waited more than 45 minutes for our meal without an apology. Standard of the food was good.
The food was average and drinks expensive, the children's menu is limited. just because the area is now more affluent this shouldn't effect the standard of food and prices.
A lovely restaurant - candle lit, very romantic and a great balance between modern and rustic. The food is authentic Italian, home made pasta, smoked meats etc. The service was friendly but unforgivably slow - we were waiting 15 for menus, 35 minutes for starters and 40 minutes for mains. It's possible the restaurant was short staffed but this was never mentioned to us! Would probably go again just for the pizza, but only if we had time to kill!
4 of us Went to Trattoria Sapori last Wed ( 10/8/16) Our first time , staff v helpful and lovely
Food equally lovely , we will go back again - next time will try and sit near the window as felt a bit out of it at the back - a v small issue tho in an otherwise great evening
Chaotic service, we had three different servers. Whitebait was not crispy, tempura was soggy inside. Main of aubergine was REALLY average and really not worth the money, green salad was like it had just come out of a plastic bag. We were really looking forward to our visit and were hugely dissappointedand would not return.
This used to be a place we would recommend to everyone, and visit with guests from out of town. Our most recent visit left us wondering if that ship has sailed. We experienced confused service, clumsy service, slow service, and food that was okay but not the outstanding Italian fare we've become used to. The staff were undeniably well-intentioned and the restaurant's ambience remains lovely, but we may not hurry back. Sad about this; it was our go-to Italian.
This is the second time we join for dinner, and just like the previous visit, it was spot on! Amazing service and delicious food. I highly recommend it, and will most definitely be back soon!
So good I've already booked again!
Staff and food both lovely.
If you're looking for somewhere to have a relaxed lazy meal with the kids, then this is your place. It serves great honest home made Italian dishes with a good dessert selection too (I can never go past the Tiramisu). Kids love it too with their kid's set menu, and the supply of toys to keep them occupied.
We have always had great food with quality Italian ingredients, good service, good wine, all at relatively affordable prices.
Really good food and atmosphere. Good selection of more than just the run of the mill italian dishes. Perfect pizza! Nice location too on the green with large windows, perfect for watching the world go by.
I can highly recommend Trattoria Sapori! Staff is wonderfully Italian :) They make you feel at home, do not rush you, are knowledgeable about their food, which btw is excellent, as is the wine (I ordered the Malbec). Prices are also good, and the ambience of the place is great. In all, a very satisfying dining experience!
This was our second visit to the Trattoria Sapori and once again it was fantastic. The food was simply delicious and the service attentive and knowledgeable.
We had fried zucchini, potatoes and octopus salad, special Easter bread ,bruschetta with burrata cheese from Puglia and Prosecco . The manager suggested a homemade tiramisu and a coffee at the end (he couldn't have made a better suggestion!) which was the perfect way to end our dinner. I highly recommend a visit to Trattoria Sapori.
We went there for a dinner and it was just fantastic. The staff was really friendly and the food was amazing. The prices are in a range from 8-15 £ and they have a really good quality. I like that they have only a small menu, because that makes the decision easier for me.
I had a Pizza Bufala with extra cherry tomatoes and when i ate the first slice i can tell you that i felt like i was in Italy!
We will definitely come back! (or order online! (-: )
I had dinner last night at Trattoria with 3 of my girlfriends and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m wheat intolerant so was thrilled that I had the option to choose a gluten free pizza which I have to say was crisp and delicious. The place was busy but we were given a great table in the front near the window and the service was nice and friendly. The manager was very attentive and accommodating and he suggested a fantastic bottle of Primitivo from his region, Apulia.
Took my mum here for Mother's Day. The manger was very rude, first of all tried to talk us out of sitting where we wanted to sit even though I had made a booking and requested a nice seat. The prosecco was flat. The eggs on both brunchs were hard boiled (on eggs royale), the manager then looked bemused when I asked for them cooked properly. He said "oh you want them cooked less" and I said I just want them cooked correctly how an eggs royale should be cooked. None of the waiters could understand English. The whole experience was a nightmare and it was embarrassing as I had taken my mum there for a nice Mother's Day treat.
I went to this restaurant on a Saturday, the place was pretty business with a nice atmosphere. My partner and I ordered two gluten free pizzas. The waiter took 25 minutes to realise there was no more gluten free base and by that time it was too late to go somewhere else so I was left with more or less the only gluten free option on the menu, the pennes. I rarely tasted more boring pastas and the plate was half empty, for £12.5 I was expecting something else.
My partner still went for the pizza which arrived cold.
We decided to leave without a dessert. With the reservation was included a glass of Prosecco but the manager had forgotten about the offer, We had to asked for it to be removed from the bill and give them my phone with the email on it that half the team ended up looking at to be sure we were really given the offer. Perfect for an awkward exit.
I was there a week ago for dinner.
The service was a bit slow, pizzas had amazing toppings with imported ingredients but the dough was way too salty.
Moreover, they accidentaly gave away my friend's pizza to another table so we had to wait an extra half an hour.
Apparently pastas are good, but that time we didn't try any.
Had an amazing experience. The staff is so lovely and they really know the food they are serving and can make personal recommendations. The ambiance is great, it's really a nice place to sit down with either your loved on or with great friends and have some delicious, real Italian food and a glass of excellent Prosecco.
Really good food, really good atmosphere, candle lit diner, not too busy, really pleasant service...
Friendly service and very good value for money. Never disappoints.
I was at Trattoria with my friends on a Wed night and we had a great time! My gluten free pizza was delicious. The service from the manager in charge Nico was spotless.
We will be back soon for sure.
Lovely back room packed with toys! We were able to have lunch with a friend while our toddler played about with the toys & other little ones. Food is good & staff are very nice. At my daughters age pretty much the only restaurant I can go out and eat where adults would go even if they did not have kids. Fantastic!
The pizzas were good, although the folded-up paper napkin under one of the table legs wasn't enough to stop the table wobbling! The choice of desserts was rather restricted, so we ended up not having any.
Fantastic service from very friendly staff, serving up delicious food
Trattoria make some of the best pizzas you'll find in London, and they even do gluten free options (also amazingly tasty). Great variety of toppings available. It isn't the cheapest place for pizza, but it is definitely worth it.
Set by the beautiful Newington Green, with attentive and friendly service. This is a new favourite!
My partner needs a glutten free diet and to be honest this is one of the few places we have been too, where they actually knew what celliac is for someone. THey pointed out what the risks of each meal were etc and were clear with how their kitchen worked. It was good to have someone who knows that a lot of people need to be wary of certain ingredients.
The food itself was very good and it was nice to have a choice of Italian beer.
I've been to this restaurant repeatedly due to its good location on Newington Green, nice decor/ambience and nice Italian food. However, time and time again it lets itself down in terms of service. There are always lots of staff around but the service is haphazard. On a different occasion to this one, I sat in the restaurant early evening with only one other table of diners in there and despite there being a number of waiting staff, was not once approached to be asked if I wanted to order food or drink. I sat there for one hour with a glass of water that had been provided when I first sat down - and no-one came near me. On this occasion the waitress said she'd bring the menus over but forgot and had to be reminded.
Amazing pizza and I love the concept of Italian style tapas. Nicola our server was both friendly and attentive. Thumbs up .
