Such gorgeous food, and excellent value. The restaurant was very Covid aware too. Thankyou for starting our Christmas off.

One of our favourite pubs, never a bad meal. Staff always super friendly.

There was no sign of the open fire where we were sitting and that is a huge part of dining out in a 17th century pub or restaurant Iwant to see the fire in the winter. Could not see any character to say it was 27rh century except for the beams. Menu is very basic. They have a 9 year old girl a bowl that was so hot you could warm your hands on it like a fire or heater. Menu was very basic, food had no flavour!

Having passed this place for years but having never ventured inside we were more than pleasantly surprised. They clearly had very comprehensive Covid mitigation in place but this in no way impeded the atmosphere or general ambiance. Fabulous service, great food, a wonderful atmosphere and very reasonably priced food made for a great evening. A new favourite and a place we will be returning to regularly from now on. Highly recommended.

Have been regular visitors here for over 7 years. Service, food, beer and atmosphere has always been good, with no exceptions.

Our experience of the Travellers is very positive. Well spaced, friendly and welcoming staff, good food and service. A great place to eat.

Food good as always, although chosen dishes were unavailable due to last night of opening and service a little slow but last night before Covid lockdown was fairly busy, atmosphere was great. Nice bottle of bubbly for celebration. Always an enjoyable evening and always return.

Lovely friendly atmosphere with charming staff. Food was a little disappointing but this was probably because we were going into Lockdown the next day so some things not available and not everything matched the description on the menu.

Very safe, good food, slightly confused ears as there were two sets of audible music playing!

We have visited the Travellers on several occasions prior to lockdown. This was our first visit since. As a party of four, we felt safe with the set up for Covid and overall enjoyed our evening out. We were there a long time though, waiting to be served initially, then to get couple of starters and then waiting for main courses. It was hard to get someone’s attention to order more drinks, get the bill and then pay the bill. Having said that, the service we received was friendly and helpful. On this occasion the food wasn’t as good as we have previously experienced. Two of us had beef burgers, which were enjoyed. However the chicken in the pie was chewy and chicken burger was very dry. We will return as we do enjoy the friendly atmosphere and very much like the new decor.

Highly recommend the travellers rest. Food is amazing especially fish and chips and tastes so fresh! All the food was amazing that we tasted. The service was a bit slow as we had a table booked at 6:30pm and didn’t get food until over an hour later. Staff are friendly and warming & generally a lovely pub just service needs to be a bit quicker especially with covid and tables at times felt sticky and unclean but no complaints as such just great food fantastic value and local enough to travel back and forth

We have been here several times and never had a bad meal and our last visit was no exception!

After a terrible meal in another local establishment, The Travellers Rest was a welcome treat. Thank you. We will be back!

Staying in Cornwall for week and stumbled upon this place. Booked a table for what must of been the last sitting at 8pm. It was busy and took a while for us to be acknowledged and then have our temperatures taken before being taken to our table that even though it had apparently been cleaned to Covid standards smelt of an old cleaning cloth! Plonked right in the middle of what I can only describe as a campsite dining room adjacent to the busy kitchen, we had a small dog with us but really a 0 for ambience had we not had hungry children we would of walked as felt like we were more of an inconvenience.

Food presented on lovely dishes but overpriced for what you got. My son had a cheeseburger and I’ve never seen such a dry overcooked tiny burger with a smidgen of cheese! My other son had steak and chips and asked for no salad but It did not come with anything else, not even an onion ring, these and any other sides had to be ordered separately which makes for an expensive campsite dinner! I had beef chilli which was nice but was to come with nachos, think there were 4 on the dish.

Shame as reviews were good for this place so we must of just been unlucky :-(

Service very slow, they definitely need more staff . I asked for steak medium and it was well done. Maybe it was due to COVID. Pub itself was very nice.

We had 4 fabulous meals here, the children had homemade burgers- delicious and we had homemade pork belly tagine and a Thai curry- both were amazing!

Overall pub grub for restaurant prices seeing only a limited choice to covid you would assume that the chef was spot on but the belly pork slow roasted was not exactly what it said on the tin said cuscous with dates and apricot 2 people had this dish and was more like normal belly pork with a plain cuscous and a tomato and onion sauce no sign of dates and apricot if you rely on a small menu needs to be spot on good service though

Lovely meal in a great atmosphere! The service was really good. The measures that have been put in place make you feel safe too.

Third year visiting the Travellers and as expected it didn't disappoint. Food was outstanding, good portion size, friendly staff, good prices and dog and child friendly. Booked our table online which was easy. Lovely interior and free wifi is an added bonus too! Will see you again next year.

We love this pub and the friendliness of the staff, but the latest menu isn’t really to our taste. We love plain pub food.

A lovely place to eat in these COVID times. Everything felt safe and well organised. The food was delicious and staff very attentive. Have booked to go again this week as we are staying locally for a one week break in Cornwall.
