Food came out fairly quick. And the server was always mindful of filling up coffee and water. We were also able to hangout for a bit of time after paying check to finish coffee. Weekday morning are the perfect time to go. Mega Eggs Benedict is the way to go ☺️
Cute little cafe inside a bookstore. Nice counter and a handful of tables. My husband's breakfast was better than mine. I got the frittata with high expectations, but my first few bites were very dry. The center of the frittata was a little better and the tomatoes really helped with moisture, but I think it could have been lightened up a bit to not be as dense. My husband got the homemade corned beef hash & eggs, which was really excellent, as was the toast. Sadly, the frittata wasn't served with toast. He got coffee and was never offered a refill. I finally flagged down a different server (hadn't seen ours in a while) and he got a refill. Because of the small space, it only takes one loud table to dominate the space. Of course, we had one right next to us. Once they left it was a more pleasant atmosphere. Really nothing the Cafe could do about that, it's a small space, so the tables are close together. All of that said, I would go back again, but I'll be the one ordering the corned beef hash!
I loved the atmosphere here. Surrounded by books and sitting by the window looking out onto Newbury street. It was a quaint feel but in a large bookstore. Food was yummy and the staff was friendly. They had many vegan accommodations as well
Restaurant located inside a small bookstore. My wife and I enjoyed it. Good breakfast..
Cozy cafe located inside a bookseller! They do weekly events that would encourage me to go often if I lived in the area! Great choice!
The food was solid and good value, something for everyone. The servers were friendly and responsive. And the atmosphere was awesome. We enjoyed our breakfast and coffee while surrounded by books. After dining, we explored the two-story bookstore. Fun experience.
This was an amazing find. Fast service, excellent food, and an adorable, relaxed setting. A cozy breakfast/brunch spot to enjoy Newbury Street and then peruse the well-stocked book shelves. The cafe and bookstore alike contain both classic favorites and creative firsts. A real gem in Boston's Back Bay.
Generally nice place with good food at reasonable price. Seemed understaffed by at least one wait person as the existing ones were hustling just too many tables to cover so service was slower than should have been on getting order taken and coffee refills.
Great food, and we love that it is also a bookstore. Our waitress was nice and quick, but she never checked on us after our food was delivered
Meh. Food was so-so. Service was slow and inattentive, I was only offered a coffee refill as I was preparing to leave. My eggs were not cooked as requested.
Wonderful and varied menu! Loved it! Wish there were more places like this.
A really fun place. You’re surrounded by good books and funky small gift items. Food was so-so but it’s all about the atmosphere there!
Not all that it is cracked up to be. Pancakes burnt, delivered breakfast before coffee, nobody came by after our food was served - had to flag down a bill when done. You could do better.
I love Trident. Perfect place for a bookclub meeting or intimate dinner with friends.
Eggs had runny yokes. I had requested over hard
Without the lights on, the huge windows facing those sitting in the booth along the wall presented a glare that made it hard to look at the person across the table. Even on the cloudy day.
Also disappointed they don't have real maple syrup.
Great staff. Great food. Loved the Grub Street memoir author reading!!!
Great vegan options for breakfast lunch and dinner. I had the breakfast burrito with tofu instead of egg and it was delicious. The salsa is top notch—ask for extra! Trident is always bustling and the new updates are great. I love going to Trident!
Excellent food, especially the lemon ricotta French toast. The only downside is that space is a little tight, so you are a bit too close to your neighbors. I would still eat here again though.
Great food and table was ready for us when we arrived.
Great atmosphere food and beer selection is great. Loved it
The food was great- I had the French Dip- Perfect. Warm, nice crusty bread, nice au jus. Nachos were pretty good too. Cant remember what my son had, but he devoured it, so it must have been good. Was there for a reading- Could have ben set up better for readers and signings. Service was good, a but slow and awkward during the reading. Waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu, pleasant and attentive.
Get your books, food, wine/coffee, study/workspace and entertainment all in one place. Magical.
Excellent food and a great atmosphere for a team breakfast! Thank you! I will be back!
Good breakfast food at good prices, and a great atmosphere.
A breakfast date at Trident turned out to be a wonderful idea. It was easy to get seating as the attentive staff took immediate notice of our presence. We were served at a perfect pace, not pushy but noticing when we were ready. We both had the house coffee and it was perfect both with & without cream - not bitter but with a good rich coffee flavor.
My open face egg sandwich was cooked beautifully and had just the right amount of seasoning, the avocado was fresh with no black spots at all. My wife’s tofu bowl was equally impressive with a great amount of veggies and a wonderful fresh sourdough toast to compliment.
Definitely a great experience and the ability to wander the bookstore after with to go coffee was perfect.
Excellent spot especially if you arrive before 9 am. We were the first to be seated upstairs. The menu is extensive and service was terrific.
Fun lunch we arrived and it didn’t seem that they actually had a reservation for us, which wasn’t the end of the world.
A few mistakes were made with the orders but everything was corrected quickly and we had an enjoyable lunch.
We were there weekday morning so it was quiet. We did not really eat so I am not sure about their food. A conveniet spot on Newbury street.
Trident is a great spot for a low key meal, and some book shopping as you are leaving! We had soup and sandwiches which were really yummy and generous. Perfect for a late winter lunch. Very nice servers, too. I love Trident!
Food was great. I got a mulled apple cider and the Benedict. If you want a special treat get the tater tots!
