Amazing food. We had the duck and pork 3 ways for mains, was all perfectly cooked.
First time having oysters, loads of information and tips from the waitress on what to try etc.
£70 for oysters, mains and a few drinks. Really well priced too.
Excellent value as usual and busy despite a new restaurant opening up next door.
Nice atmosphere, very friendly and spontaneous waiters, great food!
We had a lovely tasty meal with fantastic wines. The service was impeccable and friendly, the ambience great.
Both our starters and mains were lovely - service attentive but not intrusive service. Well laid out and fitted out restaurant. Nice laid back while professional ambience. Perfect for lunch after a couple of hours walking tour. Good range of foods without a book a menu to navigate and good choice of wines on similar fashion. We will return when next visiting Cambridge.
Lovely ambience, food very good, just disappointed that my cod came with mussels rather than clams, as they’d run out! Service spot on, will be back!
I took my mum here for a pre-mother's day celebration. The starter of Lamb roulade with zingy drops of apple puree was memorable. It was a second visit here, and I felt just as at home as the first time. We enjoyed the warmth and informality.
Second visit here, excellent food, service and surroundings - will revisit
There was a great atmosphere. It was clearly one of the most popular and still busy despite being a Monday night.
Food was interesting and well presented.
Lovely evening with great food. The fish stew was delicious
Very nicely cooked, good ambience on ground floor, if overly-large namesign dominating one wall. Not cheap main courses ~£20.
A great restaurant. Seems to have got it just about right in all departments. Pre-theatre dinner 5.30 Saturday. Very happy. W ell done Trinity
Food was not the best. Mains a bit cool
Disappointing as I had higher hopes for this venue
It will really struggle when the Ivy opens next door
Would not retuen
Took my mum for an early Mother’s Day lunch - I booked a table but had to make last minute changes - I used OpenTable to do so and the booking was updated with no problems.
The set lunch menu is great value and the food really delicious. We enjoyed the halloumi and chickpea croquettes and crispy squid to start, duck leg for main with lentils and one chocolate cake. All were beautifully presented and very tasty. The portions were generous, unlike some set menus.
Service was great as was the timing.
was here in summer time and really liked the menu then. when i recommended this to friends and finally got a booking, i was a bit disappointed that not only the dishes i liked were not available , but overall we found that dishes are small portion and pricey for their quality.
This place was recommended and boy were they right. The whole experience was delightful. I will definitely be returning. Try avoiding the below ground floor as felt a bit stuff as I walked through to use WC.
The food was very good and the service perfect, I would recommend this restaurant, especially if you enjoy fish! Vegetarian/meat options limited but understandable for a small menu fo quality.
Lovely food and great service. The octopus was the best I've ever had
Delicious food, brilliant service and an amazing experience! Recommend the ham hock starter.
It was our first visit to Trinity and we will definitely return. The staff were first class and our waitress (Czech girl) was exceptional.
Only one little gripe; the menu was a little too “fish biased” and that’s why four stars instead of five.
Will definitely return.
Of the two deep fried oysters I ordered as a starter one did not detectably contain any oyster at all....
The lamb was quite good and the savoy cabbage with pancetta was excellent.
On previous visits the fish has been consistently over-cooked.
The selection of wines by the glass is poor, especially for a restaurant at this price level.
The weekday lunch special menus are appreciably better value, and the menu range is encouraging.
The service was friendly and well meaning, but very slow on the uptake.
The restaurant could be a great success and a considerable addition to Cambridge resources if only the cooking was a bit more careful and the wine selection was sharply improved.
All four of us enjoyed a delicious lunch. Food and service here is consistently good something many restaurants find hard to achieve.
Lovely food and ambience good wine
Very good service
Trinity was recommended by our daughter and we were not disappointed. The food and service were outstanding, along with a super choice of wines. A table by the window upstairs would of made this the perfect eating experience, next time!
Superb. Fabulous food. Delightful service. So so so full of flavour.
Our second visit to this restaurant and we love it. An imaginative menu which changes regularly and showcases fish dishes. Excellent service and great ambience in the centre of Cambridge. Can highly recommend.
Excellent! I would definitely return, best meal I’ve had for many years.
Such a find in Cambridge, the food was divine and there was a great selection of wines. Definitely a must when visiting. The staff were friendly and efficient too.
Good quality food, service friendly and efficient without being overbearing
Friday lunchtime and the restaurant was busy. Service was really efficient but not intrusive at all. Menu had plenty of choice and finished up going for the 3 course lunch menu which was excellent and for the quality of food it was really great value. Will certainly come again.
Really enjoyed dining here with my girlfriend. Lovely atmosphere which was enhanced by very friendly and attentive waiter. Food was delicious but excellent value for money. Would definitely return and recommend.
The restaurant served lovely food and the staff were extremely friendly and child friendly.
We went there with high expectations due to the previous reviews, but we were slightly disappointed. Even the decor is nice and service pretty good, the food is not so amazing, also trying to reinvent to much the cuisine, not getting the best outcome.
We tried the pre theatre menu and although it is slightly more expensive than some other pre theatre menus it was definitely worth it. We asked for a window seat on ground floor level. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, delicious food.
My husband and I are big fans of Trinity's sister restaurant Varsity, and we finally were able to find the time to try Trinity. I am so sorry it took us so long to get here! What a find! The food is excellent, and the wine list is notable. Service was warm and friendly, even with a mix up with the booking time (completely OUR mistake)...we phoned as soon as we realised the error, and the manager kindly accommodated us. We are very grateful he did!
After we were settled, I had a nice glass of wine whilst my husband enjoyed one of his favourite beers. We shared the Octopus starter (it was DELICIOUS!!), and for mains, I had the trout and my husband had the duck. Our meals were cooked to perfection, moist and tender, and extremely tasty. I only wish I had left room for a pudding!
We will definitely return (next time we'll double-check the booking time!)!!
Fabulous food and wine. Love this place
I took my husband here for his birthday. We absolutely loved it! The dishes are delicious and plated with care. We had the braised octopus to start. Then enjoyed 12 raw Jersey oysters to share, the pickled shallots were a nice compliment!! We both had the pan roasted duck that was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the The staff surprised my husband with a dessert plate that read “Happy Birthday” with a lemon posset and a little candle. The staff really went out of their way to make our dining experience truly enjoyable and to make my husband’s birthday dinner a memorable one. We will definitely return. Additionally, Trinity deserves a look from Michelin in our humble but serious opinion.
The oysters were amazing. Delicious food, great presentation and excellent customer service.
Went for an early Valentine’s Day celebration. First time going to Trinity and will definitely go again. The staff were friendly and very tentative. The food was sublime and the staff was happy to answer any questions we had about the food. I enjoyed a delicious organic lager that was reasonably priced. My only critiques are that a more varied selection of lagers (only 1 on menu) was available and the portions be bigger. That being said I understand it’s not a ‘big portion’ restaurant and it’s probably me being greedy. Great food.
Staff were extremely kind and welcoming - they have prepared a very nice surprise birthday message and cake for my wife. We loved the experience.
