Very good meal. Service was slow but it was pre theatre so quite busy. Very good value
Good, nothing bad but not spectacular in any department.
Everything was great we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, we weren't rushed in any way service was excellent.
An extravagance for me, but one which I do not for a moment regret!
Food and service was great. But due to the compact nature of the establishment we felt like we other people’s conversations. But it wouldn’t put us off going again.
Another fantastic meal at Trinity. Booked at short notice and got a table in the window. The service was fantastic - just enough attention but not overbearing. The food was excellent. The Pork was lovely and moist. My partner had the Mushroom Risotto which was rich and creamy. Overall a great lunch!
Delicious food and wine. However we were never offered any of the specials which we overheard being offered to a neighbouring table towards the end of our meal. Shame but main menu was still quite good. Thank you
We had a fantastic evening - amazing food, great service, fun staff - highly recommended.
Rice in the risotto was over cooked, I would have preferred it to be more al dente, otherwise the food was very good
Quite expensive but really interesting original tasty food, beautifully presented, ideal for after concert meal late at night as portions just right in size, not over large.
Interesting menu, well executed. Blondie dessert = delicious
Great food (lunch/pre-theatre menu) at a great price with excellent service, would definitely go there again.
This is my third or fourth time visiting Trinity and I haven't been disappointed. Started with a glass of Portugal red wine and a creamy truffle soup. Next was pork wrapped in panceta with purple head broccoli. Finished with a blondie and dessert wine. I've always had great, friendly service here and will continue to return. If you make it before 7, the pre-theater menu is a great value.
Absolutely delicious oysters!
Service was excellent! Wine was great, but we paid for good stuff.
Food on the whole was very good, although possibly not worth £25 per main.
2 negatives, undercooked potatoes and a cold cheeseboard.
After ringing the restauarnat - twice! - to let them know we were running late, the staff were extremely friendly and accomodating.
The wine recommendation was great and the food absolutely fantastic. Good value too.
Really looking forward to a return visit the next time we're in Cambridge!
First time to Trinity, Overall my wife and i were very pleased with this establishment. A comfortable atmosphere, not too loud even with a pirate band walking by beating on a drum. We got some wine to drink, the wine glasses had water spots on them, didn't bother me; its just something i noticed. The starters we got were just okay (short rib) lacked flavor and kinda a mushy texture the pesto mix that topped the meat saved that starter. My wife got the mussels; which she enjoyed, only one didn't open. Then for the mains; I got the special (venison) it was so damn good, perfectly cooked. My wife got the lamb which was also delicious, i really enjoyed the spicy kick the vegetables had with lamb. Dessert was out of this world, the coconut cheesecake/pudding. I'm not a huge fruit/lemon guy, but damn it made me rethink of how other restaurants could do so much better in the lemon department. The diced pineapple and shots of lemon gel on the side were amazing with the smoothness of the pudding that ended the night with me in awe. The portions of all the meals were perfect and fairly priced. I will be back to Trinity for sure. The next work day I recommended to all of my colleagues that the Trinity restaurant was no joke. This place actually gave me hope for dining in the UK. Well done Trinity; till next time.
Great friendly service. The food was excellent and very tasty.
Lived up to its reputation as an Great restaurant
I loved this place when it first opened. Still like its ambience and service, and its commitment to playing with food. But the last two times, crucial dishes/ingredients were overcooked: the octopus, both times, through we decided to give it a second chance (two of a group of 3 had been there together last time, all 3 have visited a few times); and the risotto - which was better last time. This is a special, quiet, understated, and welcoming place. It would be a pity if the culinary standards slipped. I hope they pay attention to basic things such as time of cooking, and do not pursue fancy presentation at the expense of basics.
We love dining at Trinity whenever we are in Cambridge - our favourite restaurant. The food is always original, with seasonal choices and exquisitely prepared . The Staff are courteous and solicitous but never intrusive .
A very tasty meal, served by a very helpful and knowledgable waitress. I thought it was good value for money.
We went for lunch for my friends birthday. We had an amazing meal and the service was outstanding. We always laugh at my friend who has something to complain about wherever we go but she has nothing to moan about! It was fab, thank you!
Well, a beautifully cooked meal, lovely combination of flavors and textures. The calf’s liver main course was outstanding, beautifully cooked and the wine list was interesting. The service was excellent and all in all a very memorable experience.
Excellent service, charming, smiling waitresses. Lovely food and good value.
Best scallop starter I’ve ever had. All dishes had excellent flavours and portions were generous.
The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the service was fantastic. Although, I would say staff wearing trainers in a ‘fine dining’ restaurant is highly questionable.
The food was the biggest disappointment- the pork was too salty and dry. We also found the flavours in the dishes we had were ‘ordinary’ rather than extraordinary.
It was a pleasant experience and we all enjoyed our evening overall.
We absolutely love Trinity and have never been disappointed by either the fabulous food with beautiful presentation to the service, which strikes a wonderful balance between professional, knowledgeable and relaxed and friendly. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff, gorgeous food. Highly recommend.
I made a last minute booking online for lunch over the Bank Holiday weekend and was so glad that I did. The lunch menu was excellent value for money and gave a good indication of their a la carte menu offerings. The service was very friendly and not too invasive. They genuinely gave the impression that they were pleased you were there which was very nice. Overall, a fantastic experience!
Sat downstairs - we were the only people down there so the atmosphere wasn’t great. Food was good but would have expected a slightly more refined experience. Won’t rush back...
Really nice inside.
We both had the mushroom risotto, which had rather too much truffle oil.Apart from that it seemed a nice dish. The server didn’t check our satisfaction, but we didn’t have starter or dessert,so cannot comment further. If you like upmarket.well served food then you will like Trinity.
Superb little restaurant. It was busy but despite this the service was timely and efficient. All the food was superbly presented and delicious. Unlike is so often the case these days, this restaurant does not overprice and the wine list is reasonable and good quality. Thoroughly recommended!
We had a lovely meal and the food and drink were delicious. In this age of greater health awareness and driver safety we were surprised that no alcohol-free beer was available (and when we asked no alternative suggestion was offered) - this would bring the restaurant up to 5 star rating.
excellent food and lovely atmosphere, would definitely go back!
Food was incredible and great for special occassions. I would highly recommend the octopus.
Really impressed with Trinity. Lovely interior, we sat on the high tables at the back, really comfy. Food and service was excellent and we will definitely return. The food was inventive and beautifully plated.
The starter, roasted tomatoes and mozzarella, was well presented and tasty. The main course, calves liver was beautifully cooked and the lentils were tasty and a good accompaniment. The service was friendly and finished dishes were cleared quickly and the next course presented in good time. I was impressed and my three friends were also complimentary about their meals, service and the ambiance. Prices of the lunch menu were reasonable. All in all, a good experience that I hope to repeat, hopefully with enough space remaining to try a dessert next time.
Truly excellent from first moment to last - the menu gave several very desirable options and the main we chose, lamb, was as good as it gets. Friendly, efficient but not overbearing service too.
Quiet, tasteful decor, great service and very tasty food. Oysters were fresh, all dishes served beautifully. Very delicious. Can't wait to go back.
A pleasant meal but we got the feeling that the chef was trying a bit too hard. Most of the dishes had too many ingredients. A slightly simpler menu would have been better. That said, we enjoyed the evening.
The food was very good. The restaurant was cold and the food was reduced from hot to cold in about five minutes. The staff were animated did not ask if we were enjoying or had enjoed the experience. We felt as though we were entruding on their time. Hardly welcoming or pleased to see us. The worst experience we have had in a restayrant for two years.
