very friendly restaurant
food was excellent quality
The restaurant frontage has a lovely design which appeals from the street. There are a few steps which may cause problems with those with restricted mobility which should be mentioned.
Inside the decor is warm and very nicely executed.
We dined downstairs where the layout is so good with individual tables with partitions and mirrors which make you forget that you are underground and it feels both larger and yet intimate.
The food is very, very well presented and full of flavour. We chose the coley which was a good sized portion and beautifully cooked. The staff were very helpful at all times.
Lovely lunch - just had two courses. The lunch menu only has a few options but all worth eating and the food was very nicely cooked and presented. I would definitely recommend Trinity and will be returning next time in Cambridge.
Lovely little restaurant with a great value lunchtime and pre-theatre menu. We asked for a quiet table and got one. Great food choices and lovely service. Would definitely visit again.
Perfect for birthday lunch with the girls. Huge thanks to all - delicious as always
Lovely meal and very friendly staff, imaginative ingredients
Incredible lazy lunch. Lunch menu was still inventive but great value for money. I can’t rate Trinity highly enough!
Food could have been hotter particularly the fish
Nice central, historic location in Cambridge and good atmosphere. The service was excellent. We went for an evening meal after a book reading.
The food didn't really match up to the build-up (or price, for that matter) it was quite tasty but for this "nouvelle cuisine" stuff you really want a lot more than "quite tasty."
Excellent. A thorough delicious and ingenious lunch.
Most of dishes sold out and limited choices. Some dishes’ ingredients were not available.
Lovely atmosphere, and very attentive. Food was a little too rich.
Lovely food in a nice and festive setting. Good value too.
Lovely restaurant in a nice location. The food and wine were great - the pre-theatre set menu is good value. The friendly staff were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely return!
Genuinely one of the best dining experiences we have had. We were running late, but they called us to check if we were still coming. Service was excellent, we took our time to savour thinga, and they were incredibly accomodating. The food itself outstanding. (The lamb shoulder starter is magnificent). The ambiance was busy enough to have atmosphere, but not so busy it was annoying. The wine was great. I cannot fault it and we cannot wait to go back!
I had my Birthday lunch at Trinity with my Mum.
We had a table downstairs, which is much quieter than upstairs, and easier to have a conversation.
The service was excellent. Perfectly attentive but quiet and not pushy.
We both chose from the set menu and were very full and satisfied by the end of the meal.
The lamb starter was the star performer closely followed by the fish stew. As these were so rich, the custard pudding was the perfect end.
Would definitely visit again
Booked for two for an early pre show meal on Tuesday 27th November. The pre theatre menu was very good value but we appreciated the a la carte menu too as it increased the options. One of us had the pre theatre menu and one the a la carte. The starters were lovely and beautifully presented. The mains were absolutely delicious, the mushroom risotto was devine and the baked cod cooked to perfection. Had a lovely Italian red wine and our waitress was really good, very friendly and happy to recommend and advise on the menu. We’d definitely go again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it
This is the best restaurant I have ever eaten in. The food is the best food I have ever eaten and the service the best service I have ever experienced. It should be awarded Michelin stars.
The only downside to our evening out were steep stairs Otherwise a super evening . Especially helped by the service we received
Lovely location, food & wine. Tables slightly crammed in.
Enjoyable atmosphere and attentive service. Food good and varied selection on menu.
Excellent food, great service and friendly staff. Highly recommend
Booked a table for 2 and was seated next to the window. A great view of Trinity street. The staff were very friendly and suggested some great champagne and sides to go with our mains dish.
It’s a small restaurant with a small menu but that’s ideal for me, personally. No nonsense and great value to quality ratio. Waiting staff were attentive and I didn’t have to wait an age to be noticed when asking for the bill, which is one of my main gripes with restaurants.
I would come here again whenever I find myself coming to Cambridge.
Booked a special occasion lunch here and was not disappointed. Slightly apprehensive about being led down to the basement but our table for two was well spaced from other diners. The oysters were so fresh and superb. Cannon of beef and hake fillet also looked spectacular and tasted spectacular. Definitely worth another visit sometime soon.
Good food and interesting choices on set menus which was good value
The pre-theatre menu is fairly priced and good food. The a la carte is quite pricey. Would prefer a different selection of beers (including a good-quality non-alcoholic version like Nanny State)
Great attention to detail, food was amazing especially the presentation and the lady who served us made us want to return ..
Food was excellent - ingredients fresh and well cooked. Good pre theatre menu, excellent wine. Good friendly service.
Great food, great service, our waitress was amazing - thank you. It was my girlfriends Burthday and the restaurant done a little happy birthday surprise with her pudding...nice and thoughtful touch!!
Good food, attentive service, active atmosphere. A real plus for Cambridre.
Fab ! Love the food, great for a girly lunch or nice supper out.
Definitely somewhere to go for a special dinner, which was the case on my first visit to Trinity. This week, however, we wanted a late meal after attending a talk, and we asked whether they would mind if we just had two starters each, plus sides, rather than a three-course meal. This request was granted willingly; the service throughout was excellent. The starter menu seemed interesting and our choices were indeed delicious, but I did decide I could manage a dessert as well, which was equally good.
What a nice surprise. Whilst its neighbour, The Ivy, gets lots of attention I have to say the food here was even better. Really relaxed environment, extremely friendly and helpful staff and amazing food.
Well worth a visit
Décor a bit dreary (particularly in the rather gloomy basement dining area) but food very delicious indeed.
An enjoyable evening with good food and ambience. Most of the servers were excellent.
Food was cooked beautifully. Service was prompt and efficient. Ambiance was very cosy and friendly.
All in all we had a very lovely dining experience.
Trinity was a surprise meal for my husband for his 40th birthday. It really didn’t disappoint, the food was superb, service outstanding, ambiance truly magical. Thank you Trinity for making it a rememberal experience
