Really nice inside.
We both had the mushroom risotto, which had rather too much truffle oil.Apart from that it seemed a nice dish. The server didn’t check our satisfaction, but we didn’t have starter or dessert,so cannot comment further. If you like upmarket.well served food then you will like Trinity.
Superb little restaurant. It was busy but despite this the service was timely and efficient. All the food was superbly presented and delicious. Unlike is so often the case these days, this restaurant does not overprice and the wine list is reasonable and good quality. Thoroughly recommended!
We had a lovely meal and the food and drink were delicious. In this age of greater health awareness and driver safety we were surprised that no alcohol-free beer was available (and when we asked no alternative suggestion was offered) - this would bring the restaurant up to 5 star rating.
excellent food and lovely atmosphere, would definitely go back!
Food was incredible and great for special occassions. I would highly recommend the octopus.
Really impressed with Trinity. Lovely interior, we sat on the high tables at the back, really comfy. Food and service was excellent and we will definitely return. The food was inventive and beautifully plated.
The starter, roasted tomatoes and mozzarella, was well presented and tasty. The main course, calves liver was beautifully cooked and the lentils were tasty and a good accompaniment. The service was friendly and finished dishes were cleared quickly and the next course presented in good time. I was impressed and my three friends were also complimentary about their meals, service and the ambiance. Prices of the lunch menu were reasonable. All in all, a good experience that I hope to repeat, hopefully with enough space remaining to try a dessert next time.
Truly excellent from first moment to last - the menu gave several very desirable options and the main we chose, lamb, was as good as it gets. Friendly, efficient but not overbearing service too.
Quiet, tasteful decor, great service and very tasty food. Oysters were fresh, all dishes served beautifully. Very delicious. Can't wait to go back.
A pleasant meal but we got the feeling that the chef was trying a bit too hard. Most of the dishes had too many ingredients. A slightly simpler menu would have been better. That said, we enjoyed the evening.
The food was very good. The restaurant was cold and the food was reduced from hot to cold in about five minutes. The staff were animated did not ask if we were enjoying or had enjoed the experience. We felt as though we were entruding on their time. Hardly welcoming or pleased to see us. The worst experience we have had in a restayrant for two years.
Lovely food in a really nice chilled out place. Would highly recommend the coconut cheesecake !
Very nice restaurant, we had a pre theatre meal which was super, excellent value and very nicely cooked food. Very impressed.
The food is delicious at Trinity, the fixed price theatre menu offers exceptional value. Menus change regularly but dishes are always created using seasonal ingredients, full of flavour and beautifully presented, remember to order sides with your main course though.
We stumbled over Trinity last year when we were last attending a Procedure at Addenbrookes Hospital.
What a discovery! Our first meal in October last year was exceptional and last Monday evening we returned and were delighted it was no flash in the pan! The cooking touch and flair on show in the dishes we had was exceptional. Their lunch and earlier dining £20 for three courses (which I had) was really unbelievabley good value. I won’t go through Course by Course as each was beautiful. My wife’s a la carte choices were equally so. Staff and service strike the right notes, the buzz in the upstairs section in which we were seated(like last time) was as you’d hope for - the pleasant hum of conversation made for an enjoyable ambience. Can’t recommend Trinity enough. When next in Cambridge, seek it out, you won’t be disappointed.
Excellent food and service. Would recommend to go and try it for yourself
The food was excellent, Scallops and Pork Belly highly recommended, the wine was varied, the Albarino was well priced.
Service was to a high standard
An excellent dining experience in a very relaxed environment. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. The Pre Theatre menu is excellent value and doesn't make you feel like you're being short changed.
Beautiful food, great and friendly service. This is a super little place - recommend using for an upstairs table to watch the world go by....
The food, as ever, was excellent and the staff were very friendly. We were just a bit sad that it took quite a while for our champagne to come and we didn't have time to drink it before the food arrived. It would have been lovely to linger over the pre-prandial and have a different wine with the meal but that never happened. Husband's glass of wine to go with the meal also took a long time to arrive. Will still go back because the restaurant is attractive, staff friendly and food delicious.
Great food, except for lack of Vegetarian options for dessert.
Excellent meal at Trinity. We were dining to celebrate a birthday and the staff helped with that. We took two lamb main courses which were really nice and we’d highly recommend to anyone and a halibut which was really nice too. The red wine from Bordeaux was ok but the Verdejo (cheapest wine) was really nice. Blood Orange Posset is recommended too. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is nice. We’d happily eat here again when dining in Cambridge.
The food, delicious, the service, attentive. A nice place for a very tasty evening out.
I had the fish soup which was just the right size portion for lunch. Not sure it would be enough for dinner! We both had the orange posset - a grown-up Angel Delight and none too bad for it!
Tables are quite close together: it’s a small space.
Delicious food as always, rare to find a restaurant that's consistent and Trinity is.
I usually choose fish as a main but really enjoyed the roasted lamb rump, with some new potatoes on the side.
Lovely balanced menu. Great service and well cooked and presented food. Good and very helpful at accommodating gluten free options.
Didn’t like the fact that we were given a table in basement despite booking. Not given option to be upstairs. The tables are so close that felt like I was dining with guests next to us. Not told that the main courses come with no sides so didn’t enjoy having a bland piece of cod filey on mushroom paste!
Nice and cosy restaurant. Staff very friendly and kind
Fantastic lunch on Wednesday, this is our 2nd time, we will be back.
Good service, lovely food, not noisy. Can't wait to go again.
A very lovely restaurant with amazing food flavours. The quality of food was excellent although the volume may just have been a little more for hungry people. The small area was only half full but noise from a group of 4 was interfering with a romantic night out.
Nice restaurant with excellent menu and good food put together very well. It knows what it is and delivers pretty well in this regard. Unfortunately, I think the atmosphere is a little flat and front of house seem a little bored or disinterested (not all). The food carried the night along with the company. I would recommend on this basis although next time I am in Cambridge, Trinity probably won’t be near the top of my list as I do like somewhere with staff more engaged, positive and relaxed.
Great food and friendlily service. Highly recommended.
a small restaurant with a interesting menu. the food is really lovely and the service is personal and attention to detail.
Smashing Stuff, awesome clean oysters and splendid Octopus, yum.
Beautifully cooked food and a good value wine list in a relaxing setting (downstairs). A perfect Saturday night
Great food, great service, simple as that. Lovely atmosphere
Great evening! The food was really good and matched the service!
The Ivy Brasserie next door has better food and more convivial service, at lower prices. Trinity compares rather poorly. The service staff are well meaning but intrusive when it breaks the ease and flow of a meal but unresponsive and oblivious when help is truly needed!
Second time here. Love the food and service. I've actually got the chicken both times because it's an excellent chicken breast. Had some seafood starters this time. Mussels were great, but the oysters were certainly the weakest dish. After a conversation with the server, I had some healthy broccolini to finish....they're called tenderstems in England.
