Truffle Restaurant & Bar
Great food . Everything on the menu is great. As is the service and atmosphere.
Another fabulous dinner at Truffle. Only regret is that this restaurant is so empty most nights. THe attention to details, allergies and requests, special occasions is par none. We mentioned the website and got free wine. They knew it was my birthday and treated me to my dessert. They honor the foodie card and even remember when it was used previously. Please try this neighborhood treat and keep it open.
The food was simple and incredibly flavorful. It was one of those dining experiences where you can taste each ingredient that was used. The customer service was fantastic, very friendly and attentive. The chef came out to greet diners - always a nice touch. My husband and I will definitely be going back.
Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. Food was delicious.
This is the second time I have eaten at this restaurant. I have had takeout about 6 or 7 times as well. The food is always so good. I doubt there is anything on the menu that is anything less than amazing. Even the cocktails are outstanding.
The place is small, reminds me of a large dining room in someone's home. I just think they should have some background music or something because you can literally hear a pin drop in this place. The place is very clean and modern. The entire staff is amazing, they seem obsessed with making sure you are enjoying everything which is really hard not do! The chef even walked by and said hello to us. My friend who has never heard of Truffles (the fungus not the restaurant) had a wonderful experience.
Great food and staff. Interior design needs updating.
Always a pleasurable dining experience at Truffle. Joe, who has served us in the past, is knowledgeable and helpful and pleasant to deal with. The food is always top notch. It's a little gem!
We were the last table for the night. They welcomed us, were very accommodating, and didn’t rush us out at all.
I had mushroom soup, butternut squash rissoto and creme brule.Husband had Mediterranean salad and safron rissoto.Everything was delicious, and service was excellent
We love going to Truffles Restaurant in Valley Stream, New York. I ate eggplant stack appetizer and striped sea bass for my entree. We also had a delicious cauliflower side dish. The food was great (as always). The service was slow because there was only one waiter in the restaurant and there was a large party that had to attend to.
We will be back!
Food was good but service was horrible. This is the 2nd time with the same waiter. Same slow service. We waited for him to come back to us for about 25 mintues after we were done with lunch to ask for check.
Our waiter Joe was great and the food even better!
Very nice, cozy restaurant with great ambiance. Our server Joe was amazing and extremely friendly. The food was delicious as well. Very nice date spot.
A new cozy dining experience where the chef comes out to interact with the patrons. My entree of squid ink pasta and seafood was such a delight that I consumed every last bite. I wished I had a serving to take home.
Nice decor, my moms scallops came out super overcooked, they changed it but by that time everyone else was finished eating. I ordered a 2nd French Martini the 1st was good, the waitress makes it without all the ingredients it was Horrible. When I asked her to fix it she acknowledged that it didn't have all the ingredients and that she had no more chambrod. How do you serve a customer a drink that you know is missing ingredients, like its ok..... It was my family's 1st and last time there. I kind felt like Gordon Ramsey was gonna pop out. The restaurant was basically empty on a Friday night, we sent back food and so did 2 other tables. I read great reviews, which is why I gave it a try, not for me.
One of our local favorites. Consistently fresh and delicious.
Always a pleasure to dine at Truffle. Staff is quite pleasant, food is wonderful. Just celebrated moms 90th birthday with friends. Mom loves the sauces they prepare, hard to explain, but their light and rich at the same time. Love a local fine dining experience.
We had a nice brunch last Sunday thank you so much highly recommended
Great food. Amazing service
We went for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. We thought the restaurant was fantastic - from the service to the food and are thrilled to have such a great spot locally. We will definitely be back!
the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, great food, & friendly service...
try the mushroom bisque and french onion soups....delicious!!
have never been disappointed yet....
It ALL stared when we arrived.
1.) They did not seem to have my reservation, nor did appear that they had another gentleman’s.
2.) We waited for a few minutes while they clearered a table.
3.) I ordered a Bloody Mary and was told we don’t have any mix made right now. So I switched gears and ordered something else. based on what I was told, you clearly have the ingredients, but clearly not willing to make one, or don’t know how.
4). Appetizers arrive, only one of us received the correct dish. The others took an additional 5-10 minutes to arrive. So I sat there politely waiting for my dinner companions food to arrive. Glad it was a salad, it could not get any colder.
5.) Entrees arrive, wildly late! To make matters worse, The entrees arrive once again out of sequence. (Do you have an expediter?) So one us politely chose to wait for the others.
Two of us order pan seared scallops. Love seeing PAN SEARED scallops on a menu. Well, not in this case. What arrived never saw the screaming hot pan needed to SEAR anything, let alone a scallop. The cauliflower purée had the unmistakable taste of a sulphur...clearly past its prime. The scallops as I mentioned did not have the trademark golden brown crust associated with PAN SEARED scallops. The color of a good strong pan seared crust atop the scallops alone would have been a lovely addition to a wildly monochromatic, bland looking plate. Seariously, I am still stunned a chef of Reed let that out of his kitchen.
6.) Upon notifying the staff, we were told by the waitress that they had run out of scallops and the chef never told her. Additionally, The kitchen took it upon themselves to continue to prepare the dishes, modifying the ingredients to get us something. Clearly they were expecting to serve it to people who had never had a scallop.
Communicate to your customers! In the end we chose alternate dishes, dessert was comped.
There was much more!

This was one of best meals my family and I have had in a while. We actually continued to talk about it for not just that night, but into the next day. The entire meal was delicious from the appetizers, to the entrees, to the desserts. Even the cocktails we ordered were really tasty. The prices were reasonable, the portions were generous. There was nothing bad to say about this meal at all. Would definitely recommend this for a special occasion or just for a nice dinner out. I don't often write reviews on Open Table. But Truffle really deserves the praise.
A lovely restaurant with excellently prepared food in a very friendly atmosphere.
Hubby and I went for a belated Valentine's dinner. He was happy when he saw the pasta special, but didn't see his "Alfredo" sauce listed as a choice. No problem...they whipped it up for him and I had to stop him from licking the plate clean. My duck was cooked perfectly, it was delicious. This was our 5th time here and we have always enjoyed our meals. It truly is a neighborhood gem!
I live in the neighborhood and decided to support locally. The food was OK but the service was subpar. Although the service staff was very friendly they appeared to be overwhelmed by the crowd on Valentine's Day. We had to ask 2X about our drinks after ordering and just didn't feel the waitress was attentive enough. A little low volume music would have also enhanced the experience because all we had to listen to was people talking, glasses/dishes breaking etc. We still left a 20% tip because the staff's effort was there but like a said before they appears to be overwhelmed and I'll prepared for a busy day even though it was Valentine's Day. Hopefully management reads this because I really don't put this on the staff. I would be hesitant to return.
Old reviews confirm our experience as ok food nothing special. Poor service, non attentive bus service. Microwave bread cones too hot to touch and 40 minutes after sitting down. Water asked for three times. Sterile look with out table cloths, felt like a dinner with fancy sounding food but medium quality. Will not be back
Reservation using OpenTable. Valet parking available. No wait to get seated upon arrival. Good menu, great service, reasonable prices. Food preparation and presentation was excellent. would certainly recommend Truffle to friends and family.
Will be returning for the third time in 2 months each time with another couple.
Great dinner out,fantastic service
What a lovely experience. Friendly, knowledgeable waiter, great bus staff and loved that the chef came out to say hello. Food was great and price was right. Definitely will return!
Enjoyable. Great selection, sizable menu. Coming back to try more dishes.
Fantastic!! We we a party of six going out for a holiday get together. We were not disappointed. This was our first time here. We had drinks at the bar and the bartender was friendly and prompt. She suggested a berry fizz drink for my friend who loved it and ordered more. Our table was ready for us when we arrived and our server was terrific! She was very knowledgeable about menu choices and made great suggestions. We had baked clams, calamari, and beet salad for appetizers. All were fresh and delicious. Our entrees came T the perfect pace. We had the salmon entree, bronzini, filet mignon, chicken, and pork entrees. The portions were full and each plate was completely empty by the end of our meal. We ALL loved our dinners. I never had such a tasty bronzini!! The desserts were fresh and the perfect size. We shared creme brûlée, apple crisp (my personal favorite) and some kind of chocolate dessert that my friends loved. Literally, from start to finish everything was perfect! Our server really added just the right touch to our experience. She was professional and friendly and made our night even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back! Thanks for a wonderful dinner experience!
Just go see for yourself. Exquisite menu. Nothing that doesn't have a special flare to it...from appetizers to entrees! Oh and I must not forget the desserts ...mmmmm
Kelly at the bar was warm and inviting. Food was great. Nice place for a date or meet friends.
This place is now just a solid good local restaurant. Menu has a variety of items and all seemed prepared properly. The wine list also had decent selections at reasonable prices. Wait staff could have looked happier and/or been more engaging, but everyone can have a grumpy day. It would also have been nice for the waitress to check in with us after receiving our entrees since there was a small preparation issue, but nevertheless, we resolved it with the assistance of a bus boy. Would I go back, probably, but it's definitely not a must try type of place.
Every dish is excellent. We had 2 ribeye steaks prepared differently with one prepared black and blue Pittsburgh style. The chef never heard of the style but was able to make it just right, charred on the outside tender on the inside. Both steaks were very flavorful and the sides added to it even more. The service was timed perfectly with the waitress checking in at appropriate times. Will come here again.
Birthday dinner. Food and service excellent. Nice ambience. Will return.
We called and ordered ahead since we only had 1 hour, which was great, and the Chef/Server was always friendly and accommodating
