Wonderful service and really delicious food
Food was absolutely superb, and original. Outdoor patio is really nice. Love the quiet out of the way location, adds to the fun ambience.
Our experience was nothing like we had read in the reviews. At an 8 o'clock seating we were told they sold out of short rib an hour ago (weird kitchen planning for a Saturday), the very item we were looking forward to. The replacement option of steak was disappointing; way over salted served on sickly sweet polenta with sweet onions and wet ramp. My pork loin was undercooked, tough, served again with wet and diluted veggies which a blanket of brown and musty color making the dish very unappetizing.
Appetizers were commendable but the fois gras served refrigerator cold and a very simple (but fresh) asparagus dish for $15.
Service by Marko was fantastic.
Interior resembles a community food kitchen or the lobby of a Courtyard Marriott where the breakfast buffet is served.
Great cocktails, great service, food was fair and not worth the price.
I frequent Trummers often, so most likely you have seen my other reviews. As always, 5 stars across the board! To start, quaint location in Clifton. So much nicer than our suburban strip mall scene we are accustomed to. The restaurant is really beautiful, the host staff is extremely welcoming, the servers are cordial, knowledgeable and charismatic, and the food is unique and delicious. They use only the freshest ingredients, so there is always a great variety. The bartender, Mike is a true mixologist, creating amazing well balanced and unique cocktails. If you haven’t taken my advice with the last 20 reviews I’ve written, take it now! Book your reservation (they fill up quickly) and give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed!
Trummer's has become our go-to restaurant for a high-end meal. We have literally never been disappointed. The service is excellent. The food is INCREDIBLE. The menu is relatively short and changes with the seasons, which means that the food is fresh and perfectly prepared. We discovered Trummer's during covid, and we so happy to find such a good restaurant with a large outdoor dining space. They even have heaters. The food isn't cheap, but it's not the place to go for a burger. Worth every penny.
We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday! Everything was outstanding. We can’t wait to go back!
I've had a couple of good experiences at Trummer's in the past few years, but I was disappointed this time. The service was slow - it took over 20 minutes for us to get our first drink order, and things never really picked up. We ordered the house made focaccia and foie gras as appetizers; the focaccia was dense and doughy (really a brick of focaccia, which was bizarre), and the foie gras had a nice texture but no flavor. The entrees (a rabbit pappardelle and a cauliflower/mushroom dish) were both fine but were over-seasoned - the rabbit in particular was super salty. We didn't risk dessert!
Yet again the Trummer's team put together an amazing experience. Trout roe on asparagus gave a softly salty burst in the tongue against a light lemony sauce gribiche. Papardelle had perfect tooth against the rabbit and morrells. Tempura soft shelled crab was one of the best I've ever eaten, perfectly and lightweight crispy. I fear I'll never like any other preparation again! Slow roasted sunchokes were very novel, the right density against mixed greens which were perfectly cooked, not surprisingly. Save room for dessert, as they're just as much a delight on the tongue as starters and mains. Put in early for the blueberry strudel, so you're guaranteed not to be left out of some amazing berry against slightly sweet tart goat ingredients and texture. The milk chocolate tart was the perfect blend of cinnamon and espresso caramel, with none too dominant over the other. Looking forward to trying the sorbets of satsuma coconut and yuzu-cherry in honor of cherry blossom season; we brought pints home! Service was smooth and attentive, with Justin and Manuel keeping eagle eyes on all the tables, happy to oblige any request. We were hugely impressed, again, and will definitely be back soon!
Delicious, imaginative menu. Generous portions. Great service. Eye-opening Austrian wines. Host and hostess attentive and determined to get it right. A great experience.
The limited menu makes it hard to look ahead at order options. Very disappointed in the Foie Gras started.
Overall nice place, food was hit or miss. Titanic drink was fresh and presented beautifully. Dinner entrees were good but dessert didn’t live up to the expectation, Pavlova dessert bared very little resemblance to original version
Overall experience was great from start to finish. From the ambiance to the complimentary glass of sparkling wine and tasting (our anniversary). Both bartender and server were great and knowledgeable. Only detractor would be the portion size but overall this would/will not keep us from returning. Thank you to the staff and owners for a wonderful experience for our anniversary.
Amazing service and food
The menu changed a lot and the food was not enjoyable
Delicious meals and amazing service!!
This was a spectacular meal. There were four of us who had dinner at Trummers. We enjoyed the Anson Mills blue cornbread and the pea soup as starters. Both were fantastic. The pea soup was savory and topped with a potato roti. Then we had the Autumn Olive pork loin, the spare ribs and the scallops. Each dish was flavorful and beautifully plated. The wine selection was very good and the cocktail menu offered interesting and fun cocktails.
Loved patio seating. Had cocktail, wine, starters thru dessert and everything was first rate. Chef comes up with wonderful things like spring radish salad and pork with Korean fusion touch. Plus great classics like short rib with polenta. This was special occasion for us and great choise! Train during commute time weekday eve is little loud on patio but doesn't last long.
The $68 pre-fixed 3 course menu left so much to desire.
The food was ok, but $68 was overpriced for what the meal was.
The outdoor dining is fantastic. We were fortunate enough to grab a table for Easter brunch.
Enjoyed Easter dinner. Interesting very well prepared food.
Easter brunch was phenomenal! Can’t wait to return, we love Trummer’s
Outstanding as always. We are frequent Trummer’s customers and are never disappointed. Absolutely the best around!
Corn bread was burned and Black on the bottom. Generally it lacked any flavor at all. The black cod was well prepared and very good. Service was minimal even though the place was only 1/2 empty. No som visited the table even though we ordered a 275 dollar bottle of wine. The waiter spilled the wine on the table at one point. Overall the experience was disappointing. It will be some time if we ever go back. We have eaten here often for years prior to COVID.
One of the best restaurants I've been to in the near-Centreville area. Delicious, creative menu. Wonderful cocktails, which are not easy to find in this area! Friendly and effective staff. Classy, sunlit interior. Bonus - their menu changes a bit every few weeks so it'll never get boring. Will definitely be visiting here frequently.
The food and service are always great! This time we took our kids with us, not expecting a kids menu. Well great news Trummers added one! Our server was attentive, patient, and had solid recommendations!
Nice restaurant with good food and service. Wish the menu was bigger.
We really enjoyed our dinner! I highly recommend the titanic drink. Its refreshing and delicious. We had the cheese plate and truffle fries to start which was just enough for two people. The salads were outstanding and our main dishes were cooked to perfection. The short rib was full of flavor.
Delicious dinner as always. It was our first time eating in the patio and it was perfect. Loved the grilled octopus appetizer and the celery root soup was divine. Our group was very happy and full!
Not only did we find a babysitter, not only did we pick to eat outside on a brisk night, not only was this our 2nd dinner out together over the past year, we ended up picking the most perfect place! There was plenty of outdoor seating available at our 545 reservation and even when we left. The outdoor heaters only cover a handful of those tables and our was one of them and they worked great! Marko was a wonderful waiter, knew the history of the restaurant, and attended to us the right amount of times. The cocktails and wine were wonderful! The vegetable pot pie (which we both got) was incredible. I always try to avoid ordering meals that I’m typically drawn to (meat/fish) and I was so glad I did. We also got the sunchokes (which was a first for us) and they were also incredibly delicious. We will undoubtedly be returning here soon (and hopefully more frequent than twice a year).
Our 15 year anniversary! Great time at Trummers.
Excellent service and exceptional food! Trummer's never disappoints!
Ambiance and service were excellent. We were not impressed with the menu. I suppose it's limited due still to Covid (though most restaurants in the area have pretty much gone back to normal fare) but there were only 5 appetizer and 6 entree choices. The appetizer was not very good. The entrees were ok. We'll give it one more try when they go back to a full menu, but I get the impression they try to be a little too fancy (rather than just gourmet) and the food ends up being less than tasty.
The perfect night out. I’ve missed going out for food this good, and our server was incredible.
The pork steak was really good tasting but with the fat not rendered well and was tough to chew. I wouldn't order again. But the rib tips were great and the sunchokes were to die for. Service was immaculate and still the best best Perfect Manhattan in NOVA.
Great service, Great drink selection, Outstanding food.
This is the best place in dc area!
Superb all around. I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints.
