Enjoyed brunch on the porch. Not a huge menu, but everything was delicious: beet salad, Spanish omelette, short rib sandwich, and both the chocolate tart and the cheesecake. Good muffin basket, too.
Our server was lovely and attentive to us as we celebrated my friend's birthday there.
Food was excellent the parking was a challenge. The table near was very loud at times- understandable but difficult for hearing our conversation.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a nice date night.
We had not been to Trummers in a couple years and were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the experience was. The food was fabulous, innovative and fresh. Definitely will come back soon!
Fantastic. The food, the ambiance, the wine, a recommended Grüner Veltiner, the dessert, simply wonderful
Food was amazing along with the cocktails. Great atmosphere and service was exceptional. Will return soon.
We were very excited to visit Trummer’s for the first time because we had read such great things about it. Our experiences did not live up to the hype. We reserved an outdoor table, and we’re seated on the front porch off the upper level. The road noise from Main Street was loud and distracting. The food was not very good. We tried the cornbread appetizer that was pretty bad, and our entrees were also very ordinary. We were, unfortunately, pretty disappointed in our first Trummer’s experience.
Excellent food, excellent service, we will be back!
Disappointing from start to finish.
Greeted like old friends. Excellent service and the food was delicious! Thanks for the complimentary champagne to toast our anniversary. Love the daily menu, always great choices to choose from.
As always, excellent service, though we waited some time for our main courses. Two of us had seared scallops which were delicious, though the slices of turnip were complimentary to the presentation, they were very hard and not particularly tasty. The farrow was excellent as was the cherry sauce. The salmon dish was excellent and the duck breast was good. The eel appetizer was sent back as being inedible / tough. I love the beet appetizer! Lovely ambiance, however, it seemed particularly loud in the main first floor dining area.
The food and drinks were great. Unfortunately a couple sitting right next to us were loud u couldn’t enjoy your meal. Let alone hear your partner to be able to have a conversation. It made it unpleasant. We ate quickly and left. Another family sitting complained about the same thing when we saw them in the bar area.
Great ambiance! Good food, but slightly overpriced for what you get.
Food was good overall but I thought the duck breast and the steak were a bit on the dry side. That may have been my fault for ordering med well so 4/5 since everything else was amazing
Very nice ambiance great staff and quiet. Food was very good. We will be going back.
The food was great, the kitchen was really, really slow. Our appetizers took about 15 minutes, the entrees about 25 minutes after the appetizers
Unbelievable service and food for our daughter in law's birthday dinner. The entire staff, including upon arrival, bartending staff, and our awesome waitress were all so gracious with their time. They made our first dinner out in over a year incredibly special!
Anniversary dinner, and it was a lovely evening. Food was very good, only minor issue was the parmesan crisp garnish was a bit too toasty, The pasta and scallops were wonderful, was pleased with the gazpacho--very unique, and that pistachio ice cream...ohmigosh, so good! Wait staff was extremely attentive, well informed on the menu and wines. I love the dull roar...we can talk at the table without straining and feeling like everyone else can hear us. Still on the pricier side, but overall worth a date night out.
Nice to be back at a favorite spot for our second restaurant meal in 16 months. Brunch was great. Menu options were nicely varied.
Great service, food was delicious and what was listed on the menu. Drinks are awesome as usual! Will go back soon!
Has gone downhill over the last few years. Food not cooked properly, menu uninspired, service lacking.
Amazing service, phenomenal cocktails, and beautiful location! Food was really good and creative.
The experience was amazing! Was relaxing and got to have a good time out.
Food was great, service was great. Deborah and Marko were awesome.
We had a delightful birthday dinner for our son. Service and food were outstanding, with several special treats in honor of his birthday.
Food, atmosphere, and service were fantastic! Wonderful place to celebrate an anniversary.
The food and service were wonderful. It was a really nice atmosphere on the patio.
The location and restaurant are quaint and charming. The staff were polite but their knowledge of the food was disappointingly limited. The dinning room tastefully appointed but Unfortunately it is very cold and breezy….this has been true the 3 times we have eaten there. The food I must say is simply “just ok”. They seem to try to hard. Putting together ingredients that make the style and taste of the food unique. It doesn’t work. All the dishes are a little mixed up and don’t really make sense. Everything was “just ok”. Nothing special. Nothing exceptional. Nothing that made you want to switch plates with the other people at the table. We didn’t finish our plates. We didn’t take home the leftovers for us or the dog. We had to send one dish back to kitchen twice. It still didn’t come out cooked properly. They politely took it off the bill. The salad was over salted as well. The manager / owner was very accepting of our comments and polite in return. No real reason for us to go back. 3 times is a charm.
I’ve loved Trummers for a long time, but the last couple of visits have been a disappointment. Excellent service and a wonderful atmosphere, but the food has lost a step. Hoping for a return to Trummers of old soon.
Great food and beautiful setting!
Loved the food. Thought the outdoor dining terrace was a step down in style and class from the indoor area, which was disappointing. It took a little longer than expected for my order to be taken, and there was no recognition of the special occasion that I had noted in my reservation (which I felt were pretty notable as one was for eloping that same day and celebrating with a dinner at the restaurant). The person who sat us asked if we were there for a special occasion (meaning that the notes in my reservation were not seen) and we shared the details to her; she exclaimed congratulations but was slightly disappointed that there was nothing else that was done throughout the course of our dinner - a complimentary drink, dessert, etc… or even any mention of the special day from our server or the owner/manager that came by to check on our meal. Food and drinks, however, was as usual superb.
This was our first time at the restaurant and it was our date night. We absolutely loved it. Potatoes could use a little more flavor, but they were still good.
We have been to Trummer’s on many occasions and always have the best experience. The drinks are amazing and always some of the best we’ve had. The beef skewer & truffle fries appetizers are so tender, cooked to perfection and delicious. We tried the chicken and rock fish dinners and loved them both.
My son’s girlfriend doesn’t eat gluten and our waiter, Justin, made sure to point out all the food choices that were gluten free all the way down to the specific ingredients that she should be aware of. She said over the years she has never had a wait staff be so helpful with her food choices. He was incredible.
This is not your everyday chain restaurant, the ambiance, drinks, food and staff speak for themselves.
We highly recommend Trummer’s and will return soon.
Service was excellent but the food was horrible - food was just not good - we had reservations at 5:15 for Dugan and very disappointed- in the past it was delicious but not tonight :((
The staff was very friendly and attentive, and provided outstanding service. The food and drinks were creative and delicious. A wonderful place to celebrate our anniversary. Looking forward to returning again soon.
Stefan and Victoria run a restaurant with not only great food but employ great people. Having lived and worked in Austria I can say without a doubt Stefan has brought this care for customers to Clifton.
Highly recommend Trummer's for a quiet dinner for two or even sharing a great experience with friends. The bar atmosphere was fantastic, and the drinks were superb allowing you to enjoy the ambience while you wait for your table. The staff is all about making your experience extremely enjoyable. A rarity in today’ food service industry. Also, recommend arriving early 45 minutes or so you can walk around the little town of Clifton, Virginia and check out the businesses from wine and beer to famous ice cream before heading to the restaurant for your reservation.
Excellent service and food in a great atmosphere. Great spot for a special occasion or night out.
Lovely dinner on the covered porch. The food here is always unique and well prepared. We joke that there will always be several ingredients on the menu that we have never heard of. The atmosphere whether inside or outside is special. The little town area is cute and the drive once you leave the main roads is country-like, although you are close to Fairfax City. You have to make reservations well in advance. It’s a special occasion restaurant that feels modern and relaxing.
