Lovely food and drinks, great service and lovely venue.
The food was exceptional and the service was very good. Would definitely recommend and the bar to adjacent to the dining area was lovely
Went here as part of the Edinburgh cocktail week. Was very disappointed with the cocktail we receive - the glass was just over half full with a bit of watermelon skin plonked on the side. We noticed others getting the same cocktail after us with full glasses and an actual wedge of watermelon (flesh and skin) placed on the edge of their glasses. This was very annoying.
We did try other cocktails and these were very nice - pear drop fizz and monkey jam sour.
Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food.
The waiter was very friendly and helpful.
Would probably go back
Lovely meal, food was amazing.
Only thing I would say is possibly more gluten and dairy free options as waiters didn’t know to help to guide when asked what the options were.
Sake with wine as always drink dairy free wine but again they advised us they had none.
Apart from that was lovely.
Limited menu but very high quality food. Good service
Amazing food and wonderful service. Recommended to anyone
I had booked a table online for myself and daughter it said it would be bar area which was fine as just looking for a quick dinner before going on a tour. The table was tiny, no food and advised no room in the restruant (even though there looked like lots of available tables. I then had to traipse all over trying to get somewhere to accommodate us at short notice. It completely made what should have been a lovely evening very stressful. Its a shame as have been a few times before without any issue and really enjoyed it which is why I had chosen it for a special evening with my teenager.
Excellent setting with good service and able to hear the conversation.
Food was fantastic. The restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming, service provided was spot on.
Stunning decor, great atmosphere, lighting perfect. Waiters were friendly, professional and genuine, nothing was a problem. Food deserves an award if they don’t already have one and recognition to the staff. This is the second time I’ve eaten here, first being with my fussy mother! Best meal of her life!! Second time with my husband and daughter….my choice of restaurant for our visit to Edinburgh, so I was nervous it didn’t meet up to what I’d told them….it did, absolutely excellent! Thank you, we would love to return.
Very welcoming, took a while to order. Got first of drinks and then no other service. We had to ask for the bill which came quicker than the drinks. It wasn’t overly busy on a Thursday afternoon.
Slightly disappointed with the service!.
The toilets were also a disappointment and Avery smelly. We will not be rushing back,
A bit expensive but enjoyable.
Did not have food, in bar for afternoon drinks. Good value considering the location and very good service.
Love this place, it’s why we keep going back
Fantastic food and great value for money.
We were disappointed to find after after we’d been seated that there was no food being served that day, despite the website saying there was a Saturday menu. It should have been made clear on the website or by email, or at the very least, before we had been seated. We decided to stay for one cocktail before finding somewhere with food, it was nice rough but quite small compared to other city centre cocktails costing £9.
Great place however toilets were a real let down. No toilet roll and needed serviced very disappointed
Booked for small plates in the bar and told no small plates on arrival
Super staff and service as well as very good food
Could not have been happier with my choice. Can not wait to get back and experience the amazing service and best food I’ve had in a long time.
Fantastic b day treat. My best friends is 14th mine 15th. When the watiter poured the proseco we had ordered i told him we were celebrating.
Lovely suprise of glass of champagne and sharing pudding.
Thank you v v much
Lovely place but food disappointing- steak was over cooked and white wine not cold enough
But they took a steak off the bill which was nice
And the strawberry pavlova dessert was to die for
We visited Juniper for the first time before the pandemic and were blown away by the wide choice of imaginative cocktails and mocktails. This time (October 2021) this choice is much reduced, nothing compared to the previous menu. The music was too loud for us to enjoy sitting near the bar where you get a nice view for the castle. It’s still a good place, but now more an average bar than the truly outstanding place that it used to be. We’ll probably look for someplace else next time.
Food was incredible. Staff were super friendly. We had a fantastic experience.
Unfortunately when we dined at this restaurant the choice was limited. Apparently there had been a run on the steak dishes on the Saturday night. We went with the fish which was a good choice
we didnt eat so cannot comment on food- we had drinks only
Pretty sure the waiting staff were tired and desperate to get home as instead of looking after the customers who pay their wages they were that busy cleaning up to get away home instead of coming round asking the important things..
No drink for around ten minutes then when you try to get someone's attention for a desert menu that was a task, then wait for waiter to come back 15 minutes later, then try to get someone's attention to get the bill - It was only when we put our jackets on that they quickly appeared.
If I ever went back it would be far earlier in the evening so they were not in a rush to get out the door.
Excellent service and food was amazing. Loved the setting with iconic Scottish subjects on the walls, cheerful and informative without being twee. Staff were super busy but made sure we got what we wanted, steaks cooked to perfection and everything very flavoursome. We got a very pleasant surprise when our bill arrived as it was lots less than expected
First time dining here. Service and food was great. Lovely surroundings, will certainly be back.
I’ve eaten here many times but last night was the poorest experience ever.
Everything seemed to be off kilter, starting with waiting nearly 10 minutes before someone appeared at check in to check my reservation and show me to my table.
Food here is usually excellent, but my steak was undercooked but as I had started eating I thought I could make do rather than sending it back. Wrong decision in retrospect. I requested a medium steak but this one was closer to medium rare. The meringue dessert had been vastly overcooked and was so hard that it was impossible to get into - even with the mallet provided (a hammer and chisel might have helped!!) - and was returned uneaten. To add insult to injury, the cost of our dessert was included in the total bill and was only removed when we complained. Hopefully this was just a “one off” and normal service will be resumed as soon as possible. I frequently recommend this restaurant to friends and it would be unfortunate if their visits didn’t come up to Twenty’s usual standards.
We had the prix fixe menu, great food with good service. Lovely steak frittes.
Beautiful room. Lovely food and a cracking bottle of Chateau Lyonnat - rarely available.
My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch & we will be back!
Had booked a bar table but restaurant available with window overlooking Waverley was good position excellent food and service
Great service, good food but very poor coffee, undrinkable! Cheap & weak
Did not have certain spirits when asked for a common cocktail. Hoped to have a good table with good views when asked if it was a special occasion (30th birthday) and provided with a table out of the way and no views despite it being quiet. Have been before when there has been better vibes and comes across now as a standard hotel bar rather than bar I would choose to go to with the company of friends.
Superb food, service and ambiance….the birthday plate with a drink they provided was lovely
The service was excellent our waiter was pofessional but friendly and very helpful. I strugged a bit with the menue because a found I didn't like a number of the menu choices. Overall we enjoyed our evening.
Disappointed to be told "The chef won't like that" when we asked for 2 starters then to share a lobster starter and chips so we wouldn't have to wait to eat.
Soggy chips didn't help improve things.
Beautiful food and cocktails as usual!
We will be back for our next special occasion!
