Twenty, Princes Street, Grill & Smokehouse
Having visited and dined before I find the relaxed feel of this place makes the dining experience more enjoyable the food was, and always is excellent regardless of what menu you choose from. The group I was with had nothing but positive comments on the experience as they had not had the pleasure of dining at Twenty before. The staff were very attentive and polite and the overall pricing was very affordable. Great place to eat great service and excellent food. Looking forward to a return visit in the near future.
Excellent meal, beautiful restaurant and friendly attentive staff
Starter was great. Ordered mussels and pate. Was great
Ordered steaks as main
Fillet steaks where burnt. And tasted of burnt charcoal
T bone was still cold in the middle
Lovely room. Despite being busy it still seemed calm. Food was great - good to get fries and salad included with our steaks. Shame no oysters - but will just need to go back !
It wasn’t a good start when after ordering food the waiter came back to say that they’d run out of what you’d ordered. We’d come in late on a Friday night after flying in from London and didn’t want a big meal so ordered 1kg mussels each. On finding they didn’t have these and we could only gave 500g between us we went with that, the squid and a side of fries. The fries never turned up, the squid was chewy and the sauce in the mussels not great. Lots of other customers seemed to be ordering steak, which did look amazing so maybe we just chose the wrong dishes!
Main was the best part of the whole meal and experience, service was poor no real greeting when we entered the restaurant and everything seemed rushed and weren’t once asked how our meal was and if everything was okay..wouldn’t rush back unless there was no where else to go after being recommended to come here I don’t think we’ll be back and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone poor experience.
Usually enjoy 20 but wasn’t too impressed on last visit. Might be because it was pretty busy but my food was cold and we ordered dessert but it never turned up but still tried to charge us for it. I asked for my potatoes to be replaced by some vegetables which they did but charged me an extra £7:50. Overall the food was nice but a bit overpriced for what we got and the level of service wasn’t up to its usual standards. We usually visit 3 or 4 times a year for special celebrations but not sure we will be returning anytime soon. Sorry 😢
We had a lovely meal for Thanksgiving! The view was spectacular!
Delicious Festival Lunch to celebrate our American Thanksgiving Day. Beautiful view, great food & great service. Very special!
As always, had a lovely lunch and our servers were brilliant. Pudding was an adventure too 😝
My Guest was disappointed that the Turkey Christmas lunch was pre-processed rolls rather than sliced from a real bird but, other than that, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the experience.
Great value, excellent quality, exceptional service
This is a restaurant we have visited two or three times and it always meets our expectations. Standing overlooking Princes Street this restaurant matches its setting . Service is always good and food to match
Excellent service and food, my girlfriend and I had a wonderful anniversary there.
Second visit here this year with my partner and on both occasions the food and service were fantastic. So good in fact that I wouldn't consider going anywhere else when dining in Edinburgh now. Wonderful flavours in the food, cooked to perfection and all the waiting staff are friendly and helpful. Why go anywhere else?
Really enjoyed this place. Came here for my graduation lunch. Took a bit of time for them to bring us our bill and get our dessert orders. Overall a lovely place and would recommend for anyone wanting a nice meal or celebrating something.
Felt like its trying to be high-end/Ivy ish but fails.
Disinterested staff and food that was fair but paraded as outstanding.
Lovely evening date was impressed be back for a special occasion soon
Lovely room with nice views. We chose the celebration menu. The west coast scallops were excellent as was the plaice with gnocchi. The flaming Christmas cheesecake was excellent and the cheese platter was generous and tasty
Excellent place to eat, gorgeous setting with really spacious tables. We went for the Steak deal for 2 people at £25 and was blown away by how good the steak was!! 100% would return again.
Nothing disappointing. Maybe corridors could be warmer. It was very quiet when we were there only another couple of tables so ambiance may have been better with more people but we will book again
Steak was undercooked and the wine was different than shown in the advertised deal
Absolutely beautiful food, best steak in a long time and my wife’s duck was perfection. Our waiter was outstanding, some of the best service I have had. Thank you
Great afternoon spent there at the weekend, the food and service was great. The only negative I'd have to say was the large round table they put us at, due to size and there was only 8 of us, it was quite difficult to hear each other over the table. But apart from that I'd go back again.
Surprisingly quiet for a busy restaurant - the high ceiling must have helped. portions comparatively small, but good.
Amazing steaks from the Josper grill. Delighted with the cocktail menu too
Second visit with friends this time and staff were not as alert this time. Waited at entrance to restaurant before being attended to for about 5 mins. Felt longer and the restaurant had about 3 covers!
I selected the same starter and main as before. It was not as hot, the plate yes, the food not! Still tasty. Waiting staff attentive and informed, no issues there.
We'll be back, as the overall experience, location, ambiance and location are great.
Had colleagues from London and they had an amazing evening. Food drinks setting services was fantastic. Always a pleasure dining here cannot recommend highly enough.
Only issue was that you need a bigger plate for the Sunday Roast Chicken - tasted great - difficult to eat!
The starter was a bit greasy and when the main course came there was the tiniest pieces of beef so I said they had forgot to put the beef on the plate so he went a got another 2 portions. The servers were very nice.
Nice food. Although the welcome into restaurant not great and service not strong.
Lovely setting. Food was amazing. Staff very attentive.
lovely place to eat and meet up with friends service was excellent
I took my daughter in law out for tea before going to the ballet. We had a lovely window seat. Food was perfect and service very good. Great start to the evening. My only observation was that there was no one at the desk when we arrived.
Amazing food and service thank you so much for making my birthday special!
I pre-booked for my graduation, and they sat us by the window overlooking Princess Street. Food was excellent though portion sizes were on the small side in my opinion. We decided to order dessert however after waiting for nearly 30 minutes we had to cancel it due to other commitments on the day. We didn't get an update from the waiter and had to ask for a status update.
Lovely dinner again. This is turning into our favourite Edinburgh restaurant. All the food was gorgeous. We had carpaccio, scallops, mackerel, rib eye steaks, mac n cheese side, roast veg side, mushroom side. Completely FTB - Full to Brim!
Friendly young staff. No pressure and lots of buzz. Delicious wine too.
This was an exceptional place to eat. The view from the windows over looking Princes Street, beautiful.
Access from Waverly Station right across the road. Lovely ambiance. Lovely staff. We will return. Thank you
The food was very tasty and well presented. My only niggle is the food was not hot. There was 3 of us in our party and starters or mains were not piping hot. Overall it was a nice evening
