Prime Scottish steak burger, onion marmalade, smoked brie, triple cooked chips, ketchup
3 West Coast Scallops
House salad, triple cooked chips
Food under cooked and of poor quality
A steak restaurant that can't cook a steak as requested and then reheated the same steak , completely unacceptable . Will never go again and wouldn't advise anyone else to go 😤
Lovely day and staff were very accommodating and friendly!! Only small issue is that both the restaurant and the juniper bar were quite cold but apart from that all good
3rd visit to the restaurant and by far the worst. From the entry the stairs were grubby and paint work dirty.
The restaurant itself looked as always and the staff helpful and attentive.
The food, however let it down. The mains were mediocre and dessert pretty awful. A dry ginger cake with a tiny amount of ice cream. At nearly £80 for two I expected so much more
Haggis and black pudding starter was incredible. Chateaubriand sharing platter was good, but a little small for two people, enough sides but not enough meat. Would definitely come back.
Some staff uniforms were a bit shabby(trousers and shirts with gaps)shirts were not very white,
Overall ambience good and food excellent.
Unfortunately the waiter did not bring our sides with our mains which was a bit disappointing.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas lunch menu in this grand setting. Mackerel, Turkey then cheeses for dessert in just the right portion size..
Friendly, timely service encourages us to book again soon.
Very impressed again.
Horrible service. Booked a seat at 8:30 which was pretty late for dinner already. The team was poorly prepared and was told to wait at the corner for a good 30minutes which ruined our plans for the night. Food was amazing though.
Good food with friends and service was very professional thank you
absolutely amazing no words the food was amazing, staff polite and attentive service second to none just beautiful and wud highly recommend
thank you guys
The manager's attitude was disgusting!! I felt degraded and was treated unfairly which is such a shame as we had been waiting for ages to try this place. The place looked great it's just unfortunate that the blonde manager was so rude!
We didn't end up eating here as we were made to feel super uncomfortable. Never again!
The food was great, we had a lovely evening. however there were 2 things that I wanted to bring to your attention.
The cheeseboard was 2 tiny wedges of what seemed to be the same cheese - very, very disappointing.
One of our wine glasses had some sediment/dirt in the glass which we only noticed once the wine was poured. our waiter removed the glass and replaced it immediately, however no offer was made to replenish the full glass of wine that was disposed of, and no apology given. There was nothing removed from the bill until we queried this, then £5 was taken off. Most wines per glass are around £10 per glass.
Excellent service, stylish setting for a celebration, stunning view from windows.
Lovely evening with friends staff where amazing and very attentive. Will be back
Gave us a seat in what looked like a hallway not even proper seating area, it was right after bar behind a curtain, even though we booked a table way in advance.
Our server was amazing - didn’t catch his name but he was perfect. The food service and quality was outstanding. We received our starter quickly and within 5 minutes of finishing our main arrived and was of top quality. Not to mention the view of the Christmas markets just made the night even more special.
Poor service waited a long time to catch waiters attention to order a drink and they were not busy. Not much atmosphere. Decor nice but used to be plush and beautiful inside. Women’s toilets smelled too bad so didn’t use. Used to be one of my favourite places to go but won’t be back anytime soon.
What a great end to my Birthday the food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Will be back again soon
Lack of staff is having an affect. Food was ok but I was expecting more. Service tried hard but were just run off their feet.
Beautiful spacious well ventilated room with art filled walls. Wonderful Festive menu where we were spoilt for choice.
Delicious wonderfully presented food and excellent wine.
Altogether an unforgettable experience.
Absolutely loved the food , I’d highly recommend, we will be back .
Amazing view from our table by the window.
Will definitely visit again.
We just went in for drinks- great waiter service, lovely layout of tables, warm environment, comfy seats, not noisy. Perfect for a few drinks with friends and good value. We are planning on re-booking again for January.
Very lovely day definitely be back. Cocktails delicious food was lovely
Delicious food, lovely welcoming helpful staff and a beautiful room. Would highly recommend
Too Much not available on the menu, chateabriand was dry and very fatty, food was also cold. Very very disappointing!!
Very slow service, had booked for drinks only initially and asked if we could have a snack. Said they were short staffed, so no. Crisps only. Wasn’t the best experience and wouldn’t rush back
Fantastic table at the window. Great service, would highly recommend.
Terrible service, plain food, and draughty cold room. When we asked to look at a desert menu we were told very rudely and abruptly the kitchen shut in 10 minutes so if we wanted anything we had to be quick. When it came to paying the bill we weren’t even asked if we wanted anything else, before the manger suddenly popped it down on the table saying he has to cash up, so we need to pay. This was not particularly surprising as throughout the night there was a major lack of attentive service and not even a check back after receiving the food. It took 15 minutes for our plates to be cleared, baring in mind the restaurant wasn’t even half full.
Had to rate food however we were only there for drinks and a n/a wasn’t available. What let the bar down was it was cold so not relaxing to sit in
Lovely atmosphere. Pricey, but the food was great, the decor was good, and the staff were very friendly (without coming by the table too often than needed).
Grand ballroom restaurant with amazing views. Food not warm enough and staff completely clueless. Overpriced and lacklustre. Shame about the overall experience as the venue deserved better. Expensive and not great value for money.
Amazing good with Amazing service
Lovely food was amazing service was good
Very limited menu, so disappointing when several items not available. What we did have was nice but could have been hotter.
Our table booking was at 7.30pm we ordered straight away and at 8.40pm we still had not received any food. We called one of the waiting staff over and pointed out that other diners that had come in after us had received their food. He apologised and went away to find out what happened it would appear that our food order had not been sent to the kitchen. When the food arrived it was ok, have had a lot better steaks elsewhere. I wouldn't return for food again but would return to Juniper for drinks. The temperature in the restaurant we also found to be on the cool side, long sleeves definitely required.
The waiters/waitresses went out of their way to accommodate what we wanted to eat and the service was excellent from them all. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends
Didn’t enjoy the Festive menu. Not as much as the normal menu I don’t like turkey which is not carved in slices and the stuffing served on its own
Require a better choice of soup Celeraic Broth would have been better
Normally enjoy twenty twenty lunch menu Staff were attentive and helpful as usual
Great birthday treat, fab service - if only it was easier to find!
Our favourite place for Sunday lunch lived up to our expectations as always. Outstanding view acr Prince's Street Gardens in the afternoon sun from the window seat.
Beautiful space and incredible atmosphere - stunning guess across Edinburgh. And fantastic food!!
