Few items missing off menu, which isn't extensive to start with!
My friends steak was very over done and tasteless. However, my food was ok!

Extremely disappointed by the service provided at this restaurant. I had the same experience the night before but I thought it might have been a one off so give them the opportunity tonight to improve. Considering I was the only person in the restaurant at the time I was still provided with very slow service and staff seem to come and go as they like between the restaurant and bar around the corner. There was one other person who arrived a few minutes after me and he had to wait 10-15 minutes to be seated. It took overall 1.30 hours to have a main and dessert on my own in a restaurant who when I ordered only had two people sat in at the time. My empty plate also sat at my table for 20 minutes before finally being taken away and having to also ask for my dessert as I was sat roughly 30 minutes without anyone coming to serve me. Overall the whole experience was very disappointing and being a regular to holiday inns I will ensure I don’t return to this hotel as the evenings are just too frustrating to be able to relax.

Booked on the 17th - turned up on time to be told they were closed in the restaurant - invited after a long consultation behind the scenes with the receptionist and the manager to sit and have a bar snack in a restaurant area with no lights and some upturned tables - we left and went to Bumpkin. Very poor. No apology since either.

We had fish and chips and a steak pie with mash. The fish and chips were very nice, and although I found the pie a little dry on the inside, this was solved by the use of gravy. The mash potato was good, and made even better by adding some of the excellent garlic butter we got with our bread at the start of the meal.
