Service and food were amazing. Waiter was very attentive and friendly. They truly care about their customers. Will return in the near future.
Very good dishes, especially the Caesar salad. Service was very slow -- it took over an hour to get our main courses.
Thought the portions were quite small for the price. In particular, the gnocchi. When you think of the cost of a single gnocchi, and you only got 14-15 on your plate and it was close to $30, I don't find that reasonable. My guest was surprised at how small the portion was. The food is fantastic as far as taste goes, chef definitely knows what he is doing in the kitchen, no complaint there, but the amount charged for what you get high for my liking. We were there on a Wednesday and it was not busy when we were there. I found the service very slow. I enjoy dining and not being rushed but it was a very long time to wait for dinner. The most prompt part of the experience was the lovely lady serving us water. She had on her "awesome" t-shirt, and she was in fact, awesome.
We have dined at the Twisted Lemon
Each time the experience has never let us down.
Chef Dan and his crew prepare food like no other.
We highly recommend the Twisted Lemon!
From the time you entered the restaurant you were treated like you were very special. The wait staff were excellent. They were very attentive and helpful.
The food was outstanding .
Food was so delicious and service was wonderful!! We will be back again soon!
We had a great tine at the Twisted Lemon. The food was phenomenal and the ambiance was comfortable.
I had Grumpy Lasagna for the first time, and will definitely get it again, so flavourful and filling. My wife had the beef tenderloin and was totally satisfied with the portion and quality.
Nick was our server and made us feel at home right from the moment we arrived. The service was excellent!
Thanks Chef Dan and the entire Twisted Lemon team for en enjoyable and relaxing dinner out. See you again!
Excellent as always ! Chicken and waffles outstanding
My wife and I have been celebrating anniversaries and birthdays at TL for years. Almost all of these experiences have been memorable (in a good way) Our last experience a few days ago for our 46th anniversary was not so pleasant. I had made reservations a few weeks in advance and when we arrived we were seated at table out of the main dining area in a back corner facing the rear exit door. That was disappointing. We ordered the lobster bisque and it was absolutely amazing and I thought that we can endure the back corner if the hits keep coming. I ordered the fettuccine carbonara and was looking forward to Chef Dan's take on this traditional Italian classic. The serving bowl arrived and it was fashionably large but the portion was so small it was lost in the bottom of the bowl nearly hidden under an egg. The first bite was a bit of a shock. The pasta was cooked perfectly but the ham used was stringy, tough, with so much salt and smoke that all other favours were drowned out. It was supposed to be a subtle shift in flavour but was more of a sledge hammer. It appears that the meat used in my particular dish may have come from the shank end of ham bone where the smoke had completely dried out the meat. Perhaps that part of the ham should be used for soup and stock. My wife ordered the house special which was savoured and appreciated garnering praise from her. Our server who was attentive and accommodating missed the pepper and parmesan for the pasta. Not a game changer but one more thing to add to my concern. In years past a bread basket was presented with dinner to accompany the meal in addition to the little crunchy bits that are always served with our cocktails. Kind of missed that touch which is expected with a fine dining experience. (Yes it is old school but so am I). This unfortunately was not the kind of experience that earns a willing outlay of $200 at the end of the night.
This is my first negative review and pains me to write it. Sorry Chef.
Amazing experience!!! Chef Dan was fantastic!!!
Generally a nice experience and priced reasonably [within their business 'space'] with the exception of wine by the glass. Inflated wine pricing seems to be an industry trend but it would be refreshing to see a bit more balance to that end. The only, yet more critical, issue was the serving temperature of our food. The flavours, spicing, presentation and service were great. Unfortunately, it seemed that the food was holding/staged for the evening rush. We were on the early side of the dinner sitting as it was a bit of a driver from our residence and we did not wish to be too late coming home. It came out quickly which in hind sight was a red flag. Aside; The meal/food ordering was a bit rushed but not such that you felt you needed to hurry your experience. It was not overdone [beef tenderloin M-rare!] but didn't hit the appropriate temperature notes throughout the entire dish. Some hot spots within our plates but lacking through and through. Our appetizer should have drawn a comment to staff but we didn't press to address it. We discussed and assumed the mains would be on point. In the end we let it ride but it was an issue in both our meal plates.
The service and food was amazing. This was our third visit to the Twisted Lemon and we will definitely be returning. There was one drink server who was a bit rude, he only served our first drink. Our actual waitress was outstanding.
Food was fantastic. It was a bit expensive for the special, which was risotto. We sat near the window into the kitchen so it was fun to watch the preparations.
Excellent food! A true taste sensation! I knew I was eating food prepared by a chef who knew what he was doing! A pleasant surprise in small town Ontario. Will definitely dine here again!
I have there twice in the last few weeks and both time my meals where not very tasty.
Everything was perfect!!! From the atmosphere to the food to the wine! A must for anyone who appreciates what goes into marking a dining experience a memorable one!
A bit louder on patio than we expected for a side street location. Traffic. Load cars.
Incredible customer service, top notch food, and a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. There's so much heart and flavour in this food and this restaurant you've got to check it out.
Great business lunch. Very good food and service. Will go back.
It’s always a lovely experience at the Twisted Lemon! It’s hard for us girls to get together but when we do, Twisted Lemon always wins. Our hats off to the Chef and staff! You made our birthday dinner amazing!
The collection of tastes on a unique take on popular menu items was something I will look forward to experiencing again. We are still raving about the meals we had. The restaurant itself has a cozy yet romantic feel. I would recommend this to anyone
Food is inventive and delicious. Chef Dan personally came by the table to ensure everything was perfect. A must-visit destination in the Niagara region!
An absolute must go. Make sure to ask Patrick about his " entertainment beers". Chef Dan thank you for an amazing food experience.
Amazing service from the hostess to our wine /bar server to our young waitress. All very knowledgeable. Great drinks-apps-dinner-dessert flow. Did not feel rushed.
Still my favorite restaurant of all time! A true gem.
Yes, II not only would recommend it to a friend, I have already recommended it to friends. We were sorry that the owners had to close Lakeroad in Hamilton, which we really liked. When we found out they already owned Twisted Lemon we wanted to try it.
Always love a meal at twisted....Chef Dan is amazing and always takes a moment to chat....
We had beyond amazing service. The owners and our waiter were so lovely. The food was full of flavor and the drinks were fantastic. We had a wonderful time.
Beautiful local fare with an artistic twist. Paired with fantastic cocktails and wines. Loved every minute of it.
The Grand Hammer was a huge hit. We’d never been for lunch before but it was a huge success. A generous amount of mouthwatering food for only $15!!
We are regular patrons and have been for ages. Friendly atmosphere and great food. Avocado toast was amazing! Portions are generous and always delicious.
We have been enjoying Twisted Lemon for 10 year, and come annually to celebrate our anniversary. My husband loves Grumpy, but I always look forward to trying something different, and I am never disappointed. All of the staff are warm and friendly and down to earth. We love the emphasis on local, seasonal food and their unique preparation and presentation. We purchased a gift certificate and will be introducing someone new to this lovely restaurant.
Food always amazing and staff enjoyable. Love every opportunity I get to eat here.
Absolutely amazing. Staff were courteous, everyone absolutely enjoyed their meal. We had the Lasagna, Scallops, Shrimp, Lamb and Pickerel and everything was just flavoured and cooked to perfection.
Worth the drive to Cayuga for something different.
Caprese salad was outstanding.
All was excellent until nearing the time to leave when a man started to weed whack at the neighbouring fence. A woman at the next table stood up and said something. It stopped immediately. We were very thankful because it was making for an unpleasant ending to a wonderful lunch on the patio.
A little gem in Cayuga. The food was all freshly prepared and made to order. The daily soup was the best. The restaurant lakes adequate light due to only a few windows. The service was attentive. The substitute chef stepped out to ask how we enjoyed our meal (Chef Dan Megna was away the week we attended.)
Amazing place, our absolute favourite place to eat.
Went on a Tuesday night - there were no "specials" and some items on the limited menu were also not available....feels like this restaurant caters to weekends....
It’s simple you have to go there since Chef Dan says so
