We are a family run pub located in the village of Woodlesford just 6 miles south-east of Leeds city centre and is a stop off and refreshment point on the central section of the trans Pennine trail. Welcoming walkers and locals alike. We are also dog friendly.
Newley refurbished the pub still retains its charm and character and the first thing you will notice when you arrive is a warm and family friendly atmosphere and our staff are only to happy to serve you.
We serve food throughout the day in our dining area, there is also a sports bar and a function room with a large screen. Outside there is a heated covered dining area.
The staff were friendly, efficient and nothing was too much for them. Can't wait for next time
Tasty new menu and smooth service. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Thank you
Food was good but not much choice for vegetarians and a bit overpriced for burgers. Service was good. It was pretty quiet as it was late afternoon on a weekday.
Food was delicious!
Despite the rain, because of the fantastic covering we stayed dry and warm. Definitely will be returning!
Had the brisket burger which was delicious. Served quickly and food was hot, especially with having to eat outside.
Brazilian waitress makes a good experience
Very basic menu understandable at the moment. Very cold if you are not seated in the middle of the tent.
Excellent food and service. Very nice and friendly staff.
This is the first time we have been since the refurbishment and we are very impressed.
The staff are brilliant and so is the food I did have one small problem with one meal but is was quickly resolved with no problems.
Our first post lockdown outing, lovely food and excellent service.
Lovely afternoon visit to the pub at the weekend.
Wonderful lunch with the family and my gorgeous spaniel! Food and service was fantastic and we are very excited to have such a wonderful family / dog friendly pub on our doorstep.
Well done x
Great atmosphere and had a fab night. Seemed to be a difference in who got what on the food front. There seemed to be more meat on my beef loaded fries than the first time I went which was great. My friend had the chicken based on what we saw being served elsewhere but hers didn’t have as much. Better consistency would be fab so you know what you are getting every time. Amazing staff who are really friendly and helpful though and just great to be out.
A very safe and pleasant environment. Limited but must acceptable menu in the current circumstances
Food and service both good. Outside area was clean and tidy.
First time here and service was fairly slow, beer order was 20 minutes arriving.
Food was excellent on the limited menu although initial order came wrong , soon sorted.
Friendly staff and it’s early days so we will be back
Having pre booked a table for 6.45pm to go for our tea, we were disappointed to find that food wasn’t available as the chef w was a finishing at 7pm
We were told that food isn’t available on an evening but would vary each day as to what time. Having double checked the website and social media I could not find anywhere to say food is not available on an evening. If we had known there wouldn’t be food we would not have gone
Food disappointing , cooked from frozen & not the best quality. Mentioned to staff not acknowledged by management.
Table service is good, limited draught lagers due to suply.
Glad to be eating out but wouldn’t return for food.
Needs more outdoor heaters too. Cold in the shaded areas.
We had a lovely evening in the two pointers
The atmosphere was brilliant and it felt quite special under the tent with the lights
All the staff were very friendly I would definitely return
So happy this pub has been refurbished and is now a lovely place to come for dinner with the family.
Good food and good service. Feel that a broader choice of menu would be better.
We meet up every couple weeks, our first time out for 6 month luckily weatherwas good we all were happy with everything except the seating we are all in our late 70s and early 80s and the benches arent ideal for us we would have been better at a table but they were only for four and there is always six of us
Small menu due to covid but food was really tasty and the service was great, very friendly staff. Large lager selection, outside garden area has been revamped to a high standard, will definitely be back to support my local pub
Had our first meal out since the original lockdown and we made a good choice to come here. The food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and professional and gave good food recommendations and the layout and safety measures for covid were good.
We can't wait to come back.
I think we've just found our new favourite local!
The staff were so lovely and accommodating, and the atmosphere from the second we arrived was friendly and welcoming. A lot of the staff were brand new, but were full of energy and enthusiasm, and were helpful from start to finish.
The outdoor seating area is fantastic - a great place for outdoor dining and I can't wait until we're allowed to eat inside.
The food was delicious. Four of our group had burgers, and the burgers themselves were cooked to perfection and made from seriously high quality meat, accompanied by lovely sides and sauces which we all agreed were delicious.
Overall, we can't wait to go back. Great food, great service, great pub!
Really enjoyed the food and all the staff were very friendly. Service was great
Limited food menu currently, but very nice food and didn’t wait long
Will definitely go back
First post lockdown drinks, sat in beer garden. Tables well spaced, well organised, table service was efficient, nice atmosphere. Staff did brilliantly, friendly and polite, they worked really hard and were impressive.
Lovely evening meal with the kids. Great to see our local refurbished, repositioned in the family-friendly pub with grub Market and reopened. No complaints, good service, good food, well organised for day 5 of the new venture. We'll be back soon!
Would like the seating out back to be further up so it is in the sun on an evening
Staff really friendly. Refurb is great and was very much needed. Well worth a visit! Reduced garden menu on at the moment but we’ve already booked to eat again. Can’t wait to be able to sit inside and to try the full menu. Thumbs up!
Food not worth the £10-£11. Anaemic chips, dry burger, beer was nice
Need to get the main menu sorted ASAP as the garden menu is extremely limited (burgers)
Great turn around from the previous Pointers, absolutely 10/10!
It was great to get out of the house and the pub looks great. The staff were friendly but service wasnt great due to lack of experience.
Food was poor and expensive.
Would drink there but not eat again.
Absolutely amazing xxx
Great to get out after lockdown. We went out on the Tuesday (1 day after lockdown). We ate under the outdoor canopy near heater which was great.
Biggest problem was the food was overpriced and portion sizes small. Nearly £6 for 3 very very small pieces of chicken with some tasty gravy to accompany. We also ordered loaded fries with chicken and again, the portion was small with very little chicken included. We also ordered a steak sandwich - very small portion and over priced. I ordered the burger and this was lovely and well presented. Drinks were excellent and service was ok, little slow but this was only the 2nd day of opening.
I would certainly go again for drinks, but could not recommend for food given the above poInts. Hopefully things will improve as they respond to customer feedback:)
Food a bit expensive but tasty the staff, landlord & landlady very friendly & welcoming, great to be out supporting our local pub, we will be regulars 👍
Wrong order. Mentioned 3 times. Never resolved.
But so happy to be able to come again. Will definitely be back
Enjoyed a lovely birthday meal out for the first time since lockdown. We were shown promptly to our table, good service and lovely food. I know it's recently been taken over and a completely new team who are doing a great job. Just a few things to mention, would be that some of our party got their food but we had no cutlery to eat it with and being outside it does get cold fast. Maybe when the order has gone in bring cutlery to the table straight away to make it easier. Also, one of the meals said there should be mushrooms and onions with it but none were seen. We mentioned it to our server who said they would explain to the kitchen. Apart from these tiny things it was an overall lovely experience and we will be going back.
