Ubon Thai Cuisine
Over 25 years of tradition and family have been poured into Ubon Thai Cuisine in Wilmington. Bar, dining and outdoor seating options incorporate Thailand at every turn with beautiful artwork, sculptures and a bamboo wall. Multiple dining areas are open for lunch and dinner, but feel free to call for corporate event or party reservations. Whether a veteran of Thai spice or a rookie, Ubon Thai Cuisine has a dish to please, and will scale the spice level to suit.
Everything was great, service, seating, ambiance, food ,and drinks. Never disappointed and we’re happy to have had an opportunity to revisit. Love the hotness scale. Very accurate.
The food was okay for a first time Thai experience.
We had forgotten about this place. It’s kinda hidden in the back of the complex. Food was tasty.
Food was great and service was great! I have recommended Ubon’s to several of my friends. My brother, classmate and friend for a lifetime (Norris) will be missed.
In the past 5 years I have spent a fair amount of time in Thailand. During that time I came to appreciate their wide selection of wonderful cuisines. I had anticipated better food with a stronger reflection of thai dishes that i have come to know and appreciate. The food i received was almost like a "watered down" version of the real thing. We were disappointed.
My niece and her family took me out to celebrate my birthday. I chose Ubon since i like Thai and now that my niece and her family really like Thai too. I was nervous recommending a restaurant I had never been too, but all of us loved it. My niece and her family said it was the best Thai they have had, and trust me, they know good Thai. Service was good, food came out hot and with no wait.
I have already recommended Ubon to a friend and will be returning again in the near future.
Pretty consistent Thai food. They have added a few new dishes. Great wine specials.
We visit Ubon regularly. The food is always on point and the service is great. On this visit, they were having issues with the AC due to the oppressive heat in Delaware, but our server made sure we were comfortable by moving a portable fan toward our table. Get the Pad Thai - it is all that!
Good food, but be ready for the long wait once food is ordered.
Always great food and great service! We go at least 3x a month or more.
The only down-side was the time it took for the food to arrive at our table after we ordered. We weren't in a rush luckily. With the overall restaurant setting being very nice we didn't mind - this time. The wait service was excellent - we were kept up-to-date regarding our dinner being prepared.
Hopefully, this was a one-time issue. We will definitely go back again.
We had a great meal outside on the patio. Four of us shared the Floating Market appetizer, which had a nice selection and enough food for all of us. Everything was freshly made, and we enjoyed the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Panang Curry. Our servers and bartender - everyone was very attentive and pleasant.
It seems the quality of the food mainly has really declined. I first noticed this decline about a year ago, but now it is even more noticeable. Eg it seems they are using frozen or bagged veggies and not fresh cut veggies. I did not get the tom yum this time because the last several times it was very, very bland. The style of the menus and music selection do not fit the established vibe of the restaurant. I really had grown to love this restaurant and do hope they soon return to the establishment they had been with quality ingredients and environment.
Great experience once again! Even on a rainy Friday, the place was packed.
Lovely food. Try the salmom or red snapper. Service was great also
Ubon recently updated their restaurant interior. We liked that they kept the Asian theme and thought dividing the bar and restaurant was a great idea. The restaurant had a nice crowd for a Tuesday night. We liked the menu options and the ability to choose a protein if you wanted, as well as the heat/spice index. Both dishes were cooked well and they were quite tasty. We would recommend you give Ubon a try if you're in the area.
I have always enjoyed Ubon Thai Cuisine. The happy hour is great and the bartender is as well.
This was my first time my husband and I were there with another couple for dinner.
Food was good and there was plenty of it.
We all did think; however, that our server was slightly disappointing.
The food was fantastic but the service for drinks was very slow. And the server forgot our box for dessert and I had to ask another server to get us one.
Good food, good atmosphere, good service, delicious and authentic Thai cuisine.
We went to Ubon Thai about 6 months ago. That experience was excellent. The menu was quite extensive and the food was exceptional.
We returned with the anticipation of having another wonderful meal. The menu changed two months ago (this from our server).
OK. I get that. The menu of food choices is one side of a laminate page. The choices were very limited.
We chose the Drunkin Noodles so as to have a non-spicy item and a green curry dish with extra spice. They were OK.
The Drunkin Noodles was was very spicy. So much so that the spice overpowered the other tastes.
The green curry had much coconut flavor and very little kick to it.
It seems as though the selling point now is the “spicy scale”.
We were disappointed. Maybe our expectations were too high based on previous experiences.
I have since read that the owner is new.
