   Amazing experience, tasting menu was incredible as were the staff. They created a tasting menu just for us as we both have fish allergies. The staff were very knowledgable and very friendly and nothing was too much hassle.

   The food and the service at Ugly Butterfly were beyond incredible. Every dish was so well thought out and went beyond our expectations - absolutely delicious. Olivia our waitress was incredibly attentive and thought out every little detail. All the other staff were also so welcoming, friendly and attentive. You never once needed to ask for something - it was already provided and thought out. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the views of Carbis Bay were stunning. Would definitely recommend visiting Ugly Butterly - was definitely worth it!

   A fabulous menu, carefully constructed from local produce with highly innovative dishes and presentation. Exceptional food, the setting is incredible, looking over Carbis Bay and the service was optimally attentive. Highly recommend.

   From the brilliant cocktails to the ‘snacks’ you faultless innovative courses (crab, turbot, asparagus, lamb, desserts) in a well placed service. Some of the dishes were mind blowing- the sourdough muffin, with brown crabmeat butter and a reveal of an exquisite crab tart. It does not come cheap but worth every bit

   We’ve been lucky enough to dine at Adam Handling’s other restaurants before and we were very keen to try the Ugly Butterfly. I have to say it did not disappoint from the knowledgeable and friendly staff, the amazing location and most of all the fantastic food, all of which is locally sourced. As a venue for a memorable meal it would be hard to beat! Hoping to return next time we’re in Cornwall.

   I would award 6 stars if that was an option ! Nick made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and that continued throughout the evening . The staff were wounderful very professional knew the dishes and explained what each one entailed. The warm welcome and friendly banter continued all through the evening. Then there was the the incredible view perched right on the beach looking out to see. Now on to the food. We had the 7 course taster menu which was outstanding. Every course seemed to get better and was well explained by Megan , an absolute star. Can’t thank everyone enough for making our anniversary such a wounderful night . We have booked again for August and can’t wait to return

    Most beautiful dining experience since I moved to UK over 20years ago. All the staffs were absolutely lovely, welcoming and passionate about their ethos and food were prepared beautifully visually as well as taste. We decided to visit every season after the very special experience!

    What an experience - we booked Carbis Bay Hotel purely for the restaurant and it didn't disappoint. We loved it so much we went back the second night. The food is outstanding, we have visited Adam's London restaurant before and it was everything and more. The snacks are delicious.. that beef tartare and kimchi! Then every single course was an amazing experience.. all looking over the water... absolutely loved it. Christina the sommelier was very knowledgeable and friendly, Josh looked after us every step of the way and we made a new friend in Connor the Mixologist.. his cocktails are to die for! If I could give 10 stars I would... that chicken butter... oh my!!!

    Being a fan of The Frog Covent garden we thought we'd try this one in Cornwall. What an absolute treat. Pure delight from start to finish. Warm welcome into beautifully appointed and situated bar and restaurant with stunning beach and sea views. Had tasting menu - simply the best food we have ever eaten from every aspect. We paired wines not realising it was buying a glass each time rather than a smaller amount of selected wines. This was indeed wonderful and the sommelier spot on but it does increase the cost significantly. The only improvement would be to have a paired set list(s).

    I took my son, who lives un France and is fairly used to fine dinding. we had the tasting menue, the portions were well judged so thatvat the ebd we felt comfortably full. It is a unique and vert enjoyable experience, I have no taken on sepeate occasions, 3 grabdchikldrfen and two visitors there, and I enjoy it every time. I have a neighbour, an Cornish trencherman diner, who finds the portions too small, but I think he is missing the point. The service is excellent, and the view amazing. Can't wait for the next visit. Thank you.

    Absolutely spectacular meal, in the most beautiful surroundings with fabulous staff… we pretty much ran out of superlatives by the end of the meal (we opted for the tasting menu). This was one of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had and we can’t wait to come back.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Upon arrival you’re instantly settled in a chilled environment. Shown to your table and greeted by our sommelier and waiter. Very educated on the food their serving and wine their pouring. Everything cooked and served to perfection, and a really pleasant evening meal. By far the best in Cornwall. We’ll be onto the other restaurants under Adam. We will be back soon!

    Lovely setting, staff impeccable and several outstanding dishes in the degustation menu. Let down by several that were at best ‘average’. Overall given all the hype about Adam and based on our extensive experience of degustation we were surprised that we came away only thinking the meal was just ‘OK’.

    Lovely setting, very good service, but food was disappointing especially at the price - overly fussy with foams, etc. yet result was bland. Wide selection of wines (of course at a hefty mark-up) knowledgeable sommelier to help navigate.
