Located at Notting Hill Gate, ULI offers a fresh, honest approach to Asian cuisine. Natural limed oak, soft tones of blue and contemporary art give the restaurant a clean and informal look, highlighted by a hanging garden of pendant lights. Our menu encompasses carefully selected dishes from Asia, all prepared using traditional Chinese, Thai, Malay and Singaporean disciplines. We believe that Asian food should be clean, fresh and healthy, and that each dish should always be made from scratch.
Originally established on the All Saints Road in 1997, ULI became a firm favourite among locals and critics alike. At its new home ULI serves lunch and dinner all week as well as an extensive range of snacks, cocktails and beverages.
been twice now, delicious food and great service both times. its been busy with a nice vibe both times. good wine and cocktail options.
Fantastic service and food recommendations, lovely ambience in their heated outdoor section. Highly recommended.
I had a very good value set lunch menu for £9.95. It was tasty and satisfying. The beer is good too, but rather pricey.
Great food and service. This was our last night in London and I wanted to have some great Chinese before going back to San Francisco (Chinese is a bit different here). The food I picked are items you don’t typically get out in the US and these were better than my memory of them from last year’s trip! I’m keeping this restaurant on my must come back to list for my next trip!
Crispy duck is amazing, look forward to coming here every time I'm in London.
Christmas Day. Very cool vibe, very nice decor. Good was delicious. We made the reservation in open table but were unaware it was a Christmas Day price fix menu. We liked everything though and we would recommend coming here
Overpriced Christmas dinner! And no warning of the prices at the time of booking on Opentable, unlike what other restaurants had done! Felt cheated!
We had a very enjoyable Christmas dinner at ULI. Service was friendly if a tiny bit inattentive. Lots of tasty cocktails! Food was fine but maybe not exceptional. Would eat there again.
Too expensive for the service received...
Good cosy find. Simple food done well
Obviously busy on a Friday night even at 7.30 but seated right next to the bar I had waiters constantly invading my space collecting drinks and what looked like takeaways. My crispy shredded chilli beef whilst tasty was on balance batter 75% beef 25%. Dissapointed and so would not return.
Food and ambiance was lovely but was a little over priced
It was a very beautiful and festive setting! Ask for a table in the outside bit (it's covered and has heaters). The manager was great. Waiters were overall excellent, however, part of our order was incorrect. They were quick to fix it but it meant half our meal was cold by the time we had everything. Food was super tasty and drinks were great. Staff were attentive too'
Food was not as good as usual. It was cold and the crispy beef was not fresh and crunchy but tasted pre made and soggy. Disappointing as it’s usually amazing
Uli is one of only a few Asian/Thai restaurants in the Notting Hill area. The food we chose for both the starters and main course was very good. I particularly enjoyed the hot and sour soup starter I selected. Both courses arrived fairly quickly. The young members of staff were very polite and helpful. The only negative point was the noise level which was generally quite loud and therefore not the best place in the area to take someone for a date. Overall a very pleasant experience and will go back again.
We loved this new found place of deliciousness and we will be back. Crispy calamari- superb! Summer rolls were the best ones I have tried and my pad thai with succulent prawns - delicious!
Wonderful food and service. Convenient location. The Hot and Sour Soup is the best I've had!
We don't like a food.
Extremely average food. Not worth the price at all. Great decor and atmosphere, though.
Perfect for a light meal if you’re a fan of Asian food. I loved the atmosphere and decor but the service was a little slow - but I’ll be back, it’s a hreat place for a girls lunch and the people are really nice.
Very friendly welcome, offered a choice of tables. Efficient service, food and drinks came out promptly and timing between courses was just right. The food itself was well portioned and full of flavour. I struggled to decide what not to eat so will just have to return and try more!
Good food. I wanted spicy food and that is exactly what I got. The soup to start and the signature curry. The Japanese wheat beer was also a delight. Nice cozy spot. Good service.
Amazing ambiance, variety of food from all over Asia and incredibly delicious and 'clean'. This is my new favourite spot in the area!
Excellent food , good atmosphere but slow erratic service
The front of house were very accomodating and respectful. The chefs never failed with the food. Overall experience was amazing. 10/10 would return :)
Very tasty ‘Asian fusion’ dishes in a cosy, lively setting
What a disappointment! We were so looking forward to have a great meal after reading the good reviews . The service was completely unorganised , unfriendly and unprofessional. The food was very mediocre. Definitely will avoid in the future
We’ve been to ULI 3 times and it never disappoints, I love the flavours. The sea bass with chilli and ginger is delicious. Quite spicy so if you don’t like spicy maybe ULI isn’t the place for you. We love the relaxed but professional atmosphere. They make a mean gin and tonic too!
The food was tasty but I thought quite pricey for what it was. Although I had reserved a few weeks before, and said that it was for a birthday, that was not marked in any way and I was given a table right by the door in the conservatory area on a very chilly evening so I was cold all evening, even using the very nice blanket provided. I felt on the edge of things and not given much attention by the waiters.
Solid, though not exceptional food. The Sichuan chilli prawns were sweet and underspiced for a Sichuan dish — they ould have been fine if they renamed them Cantonese sweet chilli prawns. Excellent, attentive and professional service, nice ambiance. I’ll certainly go again when I’m in the neighbourhood.
This is the second time I’ve been to ULI, I really like the menu, the portions aren’t too big, and the flavours are delicious.
Good food as always. Be careful on the starters as they can fill you up before the mains.
Service and atmosphere good.
Noisy if people talk loud but otherwise good value.
Very nice place, to visit in West London. On entrance was given a table it was busy however it took over 15 minutes to order drinks or food and had to get the waiters attention, once the order was taken the food and drinks was quick, the food is excellent and both dishes was of high standard. I would visit again and for other occasions. A very nice evening.
Fantastic as always. Michael is the consummate host
Absolutely delicious food and the cocktails were quite nice too. Not a very big restaurant but lovely outdoor seating. Staff are friendly and service is relatively prompt, good for a casual dinner/meet up with friends. Can't recommend enough!!
We decided to go for a lunch at the weekend but they don't serve lunch menu at the weekend. They said it's because of weekend. The give you more expensive one. Be aware of that. Otherwise good experience.
We live nearby in Notting Hill and come to ULI regularly. The experience was great as usual. Great fresh tasting pan Asian food. Friendly host. Reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit for the vibrant atmosphere and good food.
Excellent options reasonably priced beautifully presented and lovely overall
Really good restaurant, delicious food and a very committed owner. It’s a pity they have added the booking cancellation charge, less likely to book now.
Very pleasant but not the same as the original Uli - Black Cod was disappointing, always remember this being the most memorable of dishes.
Decor is great but tables small if ordering lost of dishes.
