as good as always service very attentive food very good
Great service and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. A Great lunch time restaurant
Our first visit to Undercliffe House and we will definitely revisit. We were the only diners in the restaurant, but it was early Friday evening after torrential rain. Good was lovely and reasonably priced for locally caught fish. The service could not have been better. The waiter was polite and ensured we were happy with our meals. Free tap water provided without quibbling too. A good find in Rock o Nore. Would highly recommend.
Really good choice of food, well served and presented and tasted marvelous
Located at the end of the promenade near the fisherman huts. Small restaurant family run. Excellent fresh fish dishes. A liitke more expensive but good value. Excellent service. A good lunch place not open in evenings.
Fabulous meal here with family. The food was beautiful. The staff were lovely - very friendly and welcoming. The dog even got treats too! Very highly recommended.
Saw this newly opened restaurant's reviews and was looking for somewhere different for a change - it did not disappoint! Amazing food of quality & quantity with brilliant attentive staff in such pleasant surroundings of decor and light background music for ambiance. My husband and I are already planning when we can return. Thanks especially for making my husband's birthday treat extra special!
Great place to eat. Family and small dog friendly. Lovely atmosphere and fantastic attentive service
We booked for a lunch and were very happy we did. Service was great, seafood Liguini was excellent and the roast cod although could have been a bit warmer was also very good.
We are happy to recommend Undercliffe house.
We loved our meal lunch time today,my friend had Skate with butter sauce, and we had God and chips absolutely lovely the batter was crunchy and not covered in oil like you get in a lot of other placeses.we will be back,we had the lovely table by the window
mussels were on the small side, but my husbands skate was lovely.
Have eaten here several times and l have never been disappointed.
Great staff, was good talking to owner.
Food was excellent.
For a Saturday night only one table was occupied. The menu was rather ordinary, except for some appealing starters. The food was well cooked and very nicely presented. Service was good, as was the wine. It was just lacking in atmosphere and the lighting was far too bright. They also stop serving before 8 which may put people off. All in all a nice meal but nothing special.
Good service and food, handy location in the old town. Good selection to choose from.
Great local friendly place, lovely fresh food, never been disappointed
Welcoming, excellent food, great service. Return visit has been planned.
The fish was outstandingly good. All other components that go to make up a destination venue were there. My only disappointment were the frozen chips. I would have expected a quality established to make their own as do their main competitors.
The fish was so fresh and the overall experience very satisfactory. We will definitely be returning.
Brilliant food and service as always. Andy and the team do a great job
My partner and me visited Battle in Hastings for a short weekend break (our first visit to Hastings). We were looking for a nice place to eat for lunch and I found the Undercliffe Café on-line. I booked a table for lunch and we arrived a little earlier than expected. However, the quality of the service and the food was second to none. Very friendly and welcoming staff and and although not too busy at that time (12.00noon) we felt extremely comfortable in our surroundings. I ordered cod bites with chips and my partner had cod loin and mash, both were beautifully presented and cooked.
A truly lovely café and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Hastings.
I also really appreciated a call from the manager prior tour visit to ensure that we were still ok for our booking as we were travelling from Portsmouth - a nice touch. Well done to everyone.
Waterlooville nr Portsmouth
Friendly staff, good wine and delicious food. We definitely recommend the Seafood Linguine they had on their specials menu!
Visited with two friends. It was a beautiful day and we sat by the open window looking out to the fishing huts. Although no view to the sea itself it was pleasant.
We had a carafe of cooled cucumber water on sitting down and (Call me old fashioned) a properly laid table with a linen cloth. Although napkins were paper which I didn't mind.
The chef was amazing. Everything was fresh and prepared then cooked on site. There was a Greek feel to the menu but traditional seafood options too and the mix was welcomed by my party.
Our waiter was extremely friendly and the chef came and spoke to us too.
Would definitely recommend if in or around Hastings.
