Good food, choice a bit limited. Overpriced but you're paying for Gordon's name. Atmosphere is great, tables spaced widely. Very good for lunch.

A thudding drum sound from the music piped through the restaurant makes this more like an adolescent club than a civilised dining place. The decor is grunge and so is the sound. If you like that this is for you. I hate it as it provokes migraine. I asked the waiters to change this but was just told it would be turned down. Horrible music forced on you is not conducive to a lovely meal. The lighting is strip and industrial. It really is murky and miserable in its setting.
The food is very good although the pintade I chose was from the breast and tasteless. They might have added herbs or garlic. However I would have preferred the leg or a juicier part of the bird. I informed the restaurant that this was a birthday lunch. They did nothing to mark this whereas many restaurants provide a special something extra. The coffee is execrable. I sent it back. It is bitter and seems very cheap. This place does not make it for atmosphere, lighting, sound or decor. Service starts well but then the waiters forget you need attention. Food is reasonably good and coffee undrinkable. I won't return.

Our party of 9 had a lovely time, the service was great. We were looked after and every wish catered for, I couldn't have asked for better waiting staff. The food was very good also: excellent buratta and a perfectly cooked fillet of sea bass. I would recommend for anyone looking for an upmarket venue with excellent service and good food and wine list. Thank you

We were seated behind the main dining area so it was quiet but dark, I couldn’t see my main course very well at all. The crab starter was fresh but very delicately flavoured so not very crabby. The truffle taste wasn’t at all noticeable with the guinea fowl. Taking the alcohol off the bill and considering only 2 of 4 had desserts, it was £60 a head. Not at all value for money. Disappointing and the ladies toilets were appalling, had I visited them before my meal I may have walked out. Big let down.

Last minute booking for the lunchtime special offer. Food was lovely, very tasty. It took rather a long time for anyone to notice us between serving us our tap water and taking our order for any other drinks or food, but after that the service was good. We would go back - it was a nice, relaxed vibe.

Great venue with vibrant atmosphere.
The lunch menu is good value at just under £20 for 2 courses and £25 for 3 excluding service. Vegetables /salad is extra .Nice choice of food and was delicious. Excellent cocktail and wine list. However wine worked out expensive as we ordered by the glass rather than bottle. However when we asked for another glass and mentioned that the carafe would have been cheaper he brought carafe rather then two glasses! With 2 coffees our bill for 2 came to £103 which was double what we originally thought we would spend! For me I will still return as love this place. However my brother was not impressed with the drinks bill and won’t be returning. A shame as the food is good.

Happened across the union Street for an early dinner. The standout dishes were the beautifully balanced broccoli and mozzarella salad and the best truffle risotto I have had in years. Great chairs, interesting cocktails, good service- perfect for a date.

Stepped into Union Street Cafe about 3 years ago and have been a regular ever since! The staff were incredibly friendly, always attentive, and the food is fantastic! Their menu is seasonal - so it is based on what foods are in season. This is really wonderful because even though I am a regular, the menu changes all the time. The staff work very hard to make sure that all the guests are happy and comfortable in the restaurant. There is also a fabulous bar downstairs, along with a massive room for business meetings or for a bigger group of people. Highly recommend!

Very Noisy, we had to shout when speaking to anybody on our table of 4
Very, very expensive wine list, especially considering the number of restaurants in the G. Ramsey Group and taking into consideration the standard of food. Poor lack of seasoning with the Fish dishes, they were bland and Dessert for two of us was the Plumb , it was a huge disappointment ,consisting of a thin layer of what tasted and also had the consistency of Yogurt topped with very thin slice of cooked Green Plumb and finished with a thick layer of Crumble. On the upside the Starters were good as was the Service.

Pre theatre dinner before the Old Vic (5 minute walk). We got two courses and a house cocktail for a very reasonable price. Portions are very generous. Burr ate starter was delicious. As a family who have a se one home in southern Italy we found the menu had many authentic items not often found in the high street big chains. Really enjoyed it and will be returning.

As big fans of the various restaurants in Gordon Ramsay Group we booked to go to Union Street Cafe for a pre-theatre meal. What a truly terrible experience. The service ranged from incompetent to rude and the food was bland. There was hardly anyone else in the restaurant - no wonder. We simply cannot believe that this place is associated with the other venues in the Group. Avoid.

We decided to try the summer menu, really value for money, in fact, we would like to go other day “a la carte” to try other amazing dishes. However, the service was not as good as expected, we had to claim to see the different menus available and it took them more than 15 minutes to ask us if we wanted to order...there were 2 waiters and 3 tables...so not sure what happened...

Orlando (GM) and his team always make dining here a special experience, with a warm welcome and attentive service. Great chilled out vibe with cool music and a bar to wait for friends or a drink after dinner.

The menu has a modern twist on Italian. The baked eggs are a must !

Impossible to read the menu due to the font and the low lighting and too noisy such that you couldn’t hear people on the other side of your table, despite the place not being busy. We’ve had much better food here previously but this time we struggled to find anything appealing on the menu and what we did have was just average. A disappointing visit. Service was fantastic as ever though.

portion sizes very small for the price of the dish. I am coeliac and asked for GF bread which was accommodated however I was given one and a half(!) slices of bread (GF slices are really small) and was charged £2.50 for this which is the same amount a "normal" bread basket is. I ended up paying £18 pounds for 2 portions of bread (3 slices in total) and a child size portion of pasta-dissappointing
