Union Street Cafe Ratings and Reviews
What a great offer this 2-for 1 January is! The Union Street Cafe is a very enjoyable place anyway - the staff are friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is casual and buzzy, but best of all the food is delicious. to have all that for half the price is marvellous.
Excellent dinner for my friend's birthday, lots of good attention from the staff, amazing bunch of waiters! Food taste absolutely fab. Had £25/ person with 3 courses + home cocktail. It was a super evening, would recommande it you like Italian food and cocktails. The bar downstairs is a little gem that will make you feel like in Italy ! We loved it
What an amazing meal!! The care that went into each dish was perfection with some dishes being time sensitive. Very attentive and friendly waiters and very pleasant atmosphere. Not pretentious, but a certain level of casual professionalism. Perfect for any occasion. Will definitely be going again!
Good dinner. Much better than on previous visits.
It is a very loud dining room (all hard surfaces). We were seated next to a very large young party. The Maitre very kindly moved us before the large party kicked off. All done with ease and very good spirited. I was very impressed.
Very good service and good Italian cooking.
Never failing to enjoy a night at Union Street, great staff make the experience fun and cheery, A couple of us had the razor clams for starter , Wow! The Lemon and Tymes tart was zingy, Just lovely, and we had a selction of wines with our different main courses, again all lovely. Can't wait to go back ! Oh and I noticed the bar downstairs was dog friendly!
I only have the most delightful words to write about our experience here. First and foremost, the host, the manager, the chef, the staff and the bartender, are beyond pleasant and knowledgeable as well as very proud to be working at this establishment. You can see their work ethic in every move they make and it's noticeable from the moment you walk in the door. The menu is absolutely outstanding and constantly changing to keep up with fresh, in season, local ingredients. Our waiter was beyond knowledgeable and could describe how every dish was prepared. His suggestions made us order a few extra items for our table to enjoy as a group. The restaurant manager came by to personally welcome us and make sure that our meals were enjoyable. A truly delightful meal was had by all in this clean, comfortable and inviting restaurant. I highly recommend you go for a fine balance of excellent service and wonderful flavors.
A great evening, impeccable service and delicious food. The staff we professional, attentive and easy going upon arrival, sending us down to the Olive Grove until our reservation was ready. The Olive bar was dimly lit in a beautiful setting of olive trees, olive jars and big long tables in the centre which was lovely.(Though with friends, it gives a really intimate feel and would be great for the romantics)
For dinner i had the meatballs to start with, succulent and flavourfull and the smoked fish (cant remember what kind it was) was delicious. Reasonably priced, would go back
The Union Street Cafe is a buzzy restaurant with a delicious every changing seasonal menu, I had the pre-theatre selection, which is excellent value. The room is buzzy and welcoming, as are the staff. The bar downstairs is fun and there is live jazz to get your weekends started on Fridays. Waterloo has a lot of restaurants, but not a lot are particularly interesting or innovative, the Union Street Cafe definitely is.
