Salmon Sashimi on Rice
small family run place in the outskirts of Canary Wharf. this is a good place if you want to go out with friends and family, casually. less ideal for business and other formal meetings. service is very personal and friendly, very good food.
Great sashimi, delicious and fresh. Small restaurant but great vibe.
Never disappoints. Authentic delicious food by a ‘kodawari’ chef at a very reasonable price rare for a Japanese restaurant of this quality. I live in South West London but would make the hour long journey to treat ourselves out at Uoichi on a regular basis.
High quality, authentic food and lovely owners who are very attentive and pleasant - fully recommend to anyone who loves Japanese food and I will be returning for sure.
Every dish is very delicious and tasty:) We ordered almost everything Elisa recommended.
I like the assorted sashimi (especially the Tuna and Toro) are fresh and melting in the mouth. Deep fried chicken is very juicy and flavourful. And the home made Gyoza are made with love, you can really taste the difference.
The food and the staff were absolutely wonderful. Will be going back often!
Best Japanese food I’ve had since Japan!
You can't go wrong with anything on the menu at uoichi! Highly recommend the deep fried tofu and the deep fried prawns!!!
Authentic Japanese cuisine served by lovely people.
The best authentic Japanese food in London. Excellent traditional Japanese Izakiya, the food is fantastic quality and great value. Staff are incredibly friendly, lovely people.
Amazing chicken karaage
Loved this tiny, authentic restaurant. Friendly owner helped us to choose dishes that would complement each other. The gyozas were a particular highlight for me, family loved the sushi. Kids really enjoyed the experience. We were there early so it was very quiet. Just the kind of hidden gem I love discovering.
Very nice Japanese shop, owned by a lovely couple. The food is amazing, and the sashimi they serve is very fresh.
They also do lunch set menu for great value
Amazing experience once again and the owners are second to none in the service they provide. Definitely recommend the house sake!
lovely family-run restaurant with authentic Japanese food
Good for a Japanese set lunch. Clean friendly and food tasty.
The best Japanese restaurant in London! Great quality of food, great value and warm hospitality!
Believe it, because I'm Japanese! :)
Incredible sashimi and the deep fried oysters were a real treat! Also can't go wrong with the cold house sake!
Staff and owners were lovely and covid-19 policies left us feeling really safe.
Great Japanese, lucky to live so close. Top notch food, like being in Tokyo. It's tiny, so book ahead. They also do lunch, which maybe a better time to go if you cant be bothered to book in advance.
Excellent service. Yummy and delicious food. We like the atmosphere and the brilliant friendly staff. Booking is essential. Everything is freshly prepared with obvious care.
Also feels very safe to eat hear during Covid
Thank you we had a lovely evening.
A wonderful gem, fantastic family-run business, glorious food, super friendly staff.
Super friendly. Good food and excellent service. Hidden gem.
Great consistent high quality food as usual from Taro san and Elisa. Sashimi quality easily rivals higher priced restaurants like Roka.
Sashimi was superb, very fresh and tasty. Service was excellent, very attentive and pleasant staff. Also took great care with hygiene, which is very reassuring.
Friendly welcome and excellent food. Will definitely revisit!
Fantastic dining. 10/10 for quality, quantity and taste. Must try at least once.
Absolute fresh and delicious, authentic Japanese!! Great service and lovely atmosphere.
Excellent quality again - very glad to live so near. Will be back again soon.
Warm welcome and wonderful homemade food. Incredible good service. We love coming here and the owners are sweet and kind. They make super tasty food and take immense pride in what they do
Leslie and Valentina
Wonderful husband and wife team. Small, intimate restaurant. Food is fresh and homemade. Super friendly service and tasty food
I only went there for dinner because the rating on google was 4.9 out of 80 reviews ... but trun out to be very average food. It is expensive for what you get ... I was very disappointed would not go back again or recommend to others.
Just amazing. The restaurant is cozy and lovely. The food is just awesome. Can't wait to come back to try all the menu.
As good as always. All food are freshly cooked with reasonable price. 5 stars.
The decor and ambiance was great along with the service and food. You could tell that the food is made to order. Although it wasn't quite to my personal taste (I don't particularly like miso soup), I enjoyed the meal. My only critisism is that VAT isn't disclosed in the sale price, but that point is printed clearly on the menu.
Nice food and service
Honest, uncomplicated food
Superb cooking of the best quality ingredients I have seen in the UK - in fact it feels very like my favourite izakaya in Tokyo.
Excellent food and services. The restaurant is not very big so better book in advance.
We had a great night at Uoichi. We had an array of Japanese ‘tapas’, reordering several shared dishes because they were so delicious. The staff could not be friendlier or more helpful with explaining some items.
A much more casual dining experience than other London Japanese restaurants.
Particular favourites were the chicken wings, gyoza and the sashimi is just fantastic.
All very good value as well coming in at £35 per head with several rounds of Kirin lager included.
Will definitely be revisiting.
Great first experience at Uoichi and it didn’t disappoint at all. Friends were raving about this place and now I understand why. The food is authentic and top quality as well as great value for money. It’s a no frills sort of environment which focuses of good food and friendly service. Having lived in Japan for three years, this certainly made me think back to some of my favourite izakaya spots in Tokyo. I would definitely go back!
The quality of food is good, the portion is a little bit too small for sushi. Overall satisfaction is good including all food and drinks.
