We were very disappointed with our brunch at the Urban Meadow. We were here for my daughters 21st birthday and had booked ahead. It was such a glorious day that we asked to sit outside. We waited over 20 minutes for anyone to come and offer us drinks (it wasn’t busy) and that only happened once my husband had gone to the bar to complain. The food was ok although they had forgotten to serve the bacon with my daughter’s pancakes which then arrived later on a separate plate. The waitress also came to ask us if we were ready for our main course when three of our party were still eating our starters and when told no continued to clear the table anyway. The food was good but the ambience and service let the place down, certainly not what we were expecting. My daughter was given a birthday muffin once we had settled the bill by a lovely waitress who sang her happy birthday, this was a lovely gesture and had this been the way we were treated from the beginning then my review may have been different. We had the brunch special which was 2 for £25 including a bottle of prosecco but instead of paying £75 we paid nearly £120 as apparently tea and coffee isn’t included also service charge is automatically added! This was supposed to be a special birthday treat for my daughter..... birthday brunch with prosecco but we went away feeling disappointed and uninspired wishing we had just gone to Borough Market instead!

Came here on a weekday evening. We had a 3 course meal bought for us as a gift on wowcher by a relative. After arranging childcare and travelling via train then tube to get to the restaurant we were so disappointed with our meal and the evening as a whole. Upon arrival we waited to be seated next to the sign, a few members of staff busied around us but none said hello or we wont keep you long or anything. The lad that greeted us saw we had a piece of paper in our hands so skipped the pleasantries asked to see the paper and then said he assumed our reserved table was "the one over there". We sat and waited, werent asked what drinks we wanted when a bottle of prosecco turned up (included as part of the deal but would have been nice to ask my other half if he wanted a beer?! Or do we want the wine now...or any water etc...?) Menu was given to us and then waiter disappeared for a short while. The restaurant has no ambience and the music could do with being turned up as you dont feel private, the tables next to you can hear everything youre saying. Which makes everything a bit awkward. The starter was bland (mozarella and fig salad) as was the main (urban burger) so we asked for the bill and didnt have dessert as we just wanted to leave. To be fair to the young waiter when i said we were leaving he did look genuinely concerned that we were disappointed and did ask what he could do...but too little too late. The staff all need some training on customer service and serving with a smile. I know we had a voucher...but if the hotel is trying to encourage non-hotel users to come in...this needs some focus to make those new customers want to come back! Our voucher was bought for us by a family member as a gift, and i am sure this will be the same for others too, so i hope the urban meadow take this critisicm in the way it is intended and improve their service for the next customers.

Lovely setting my the park, food was okay but nothing special. Mainly let down by the poor service - waited 20 mins for my drinks order to be taken. Then everything was delayed. When I flagged this to management they were quite sarcastic about it all, and I found Robert tone sleazy and put me right off my food. Also, football was on the screen inside and those that can chosen to sit away from it outside couldn’t escape as it was also blaring on the radio. Only redeeming feature was the proximity to Hyde park... go somewhere else!

We were on a DB&B hotel rate that meant we had to choose from a set menu. The range of dishes was limited although our choices were very nice. Well prepared and presented.

The range of beers was limited to five types and the one I chose was not available. My second choice was a red beer that was excellent. A small bottle of water was very expensive.

The service was very good.

This is a really nice place with a lovely atmosphere for most occasions. I went there for a double date with my husband and our 2 good friends. We'd bought wowchers for the bottomless brunch option and we all had a great time! When we first got there it took a while to be seated and the waiter didn't really understand what I was saying to him which was a bit awkward. We also waited half hour for drinks before my husband spoke to the manager to try and get some brought over. The manager was really good and apologetic. He brought the drinks over straight away and issued us with a lovely waitress who was very attentive and kind for the rest of our stay. Would recommend to friends definitely.

Very pleasant and welcoming. May have been the weather or the fact it was a Tuesday but for a 'birthday tea' the cafe was remarkably quiet. A bit more buzz would have been welcome.

The afternoon tea was a gift. The food was lovely and beautifully presented. I'm not a prosecco fan but the bottle we had was lovely - not the usual mess of hideous gassy bubbles and we had unlimited tea of our choice (coffee also available). The service was excellent and couldn't be faulted.
The ambience was very much disturbed by a group of young schoolgirls and their mothers/carers. It was at some point worse than being in MacDonalds with the noise and at another point they were running around. Still - I can't blame the cafe as the lack of parental control by these totally selfish women put the staff in a difficult position - although we did move so we could hear each other. It was total bliss once they had left.
It was a lovely experience, apart from when this group arrived, and I would highly recommend it.

It was my first visit and it was a birthday treat for a friend. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, they couldn't do enough for us. We had the afternoon tea and a bottle of prosecco deal from Wowcher which made it great value for money. When they saw there were three of us at the table they offered to top up the tea if needed. The tea was sufficient for 2 of us and wasn't too heavy. We had a very enjoyable afternoon and felt no pressure as the staff didn't rush us to leave and we left at our own pace. Highly recommended.

We spent two nights at the Double Tree, Hyde Park Hilton and had our main meals in the Urban meadow Cafe. Breakfast offered a lot of choice from the pre booked buffet, but you could also choose from the breakfast menu. The orange juice was toe die for, fresh and tasty. So we're the croissants. There was plenty of choice for our evening meals. Fresh and tasty. The staff were fantastic and tried to see to your every whim with a smile. However, a couple of times there was not enough staff to deal with the amount of customers. Not their fault...they were great and kept smiling and looking after us, but if they had more staff, it would be so much better for customers and them. Overall, very good. Thank you

Urban Meadows has been a great spot for Afternoon Tea. To such an extent that my partner and I have been back twice to experience their afternoon tea within the past year. The selection of teas are fantastic and have various teas to taste during your afternoon tea experience. The sandwiches are great as well as the pastry selection. The team at Urban Meadows were very happy to accommodate my partner's dietary requirements on the day. In terms of wheelchair access, access is provided through a set of double doors which serve as fire exits. However, entry is easy and disabled access bathroom is available in the adjoining Hilton Hotel. Overall, the facilities are great, the food is matched in quality as well as the friendliness of the staff. Would definitely recommend as a place to go for Afternoon Tea!

Good looking restaurant with cosy terrace.. Food was quite good but service was completely behind.. In the beginning looked all perfectly but afterwards since main course went down.. After main course noone cares if we finished or some dessert. After 20 min when we finished our mains we've got upset and go to the bar pay the bill cause was impossible to catch someone to bring the bill. When I asked to remove the service charge the manager(lady) in charged was not even curious why.. Bad service!!!

We ate an early dinner on a Monday evening at Meadow Cafe and bar. Understandably it wasn't busy, but it was empty and that made it a bit uncomfortable as its such an open space. The hanging orchids are dead, so that dampened the space as well. I can imagine this being a great spot for a summer brunch or lunch on a warm, busy day - but do go when it's busy. Food was decent, but could use more seasoning and vegetables in the main dishes. Service was a bit unorganized and forgetful but very helpful and willing to the extra mile when asked.

Four of us old friends met up for lunch after not seeing each other for a couple of years. This did not prove a good place for our gathering. We wanted to talk, but the noisy restaurant competed with the traffic on the Bayswater Road, making it difficult to hear each other. The food was OK, but overpriced for what it is.

We booked this restaurant via Wowcher for an afternoon tea for two, knowing the restaurant was part of the Hilton Doubletree hotel which we know generally has a good name for quality.
Unfortunately we were disappointed. The restaurant had little or no ambience, and the staff were lacklustre. They did not seem very efficient and although not rude or unpleasant, did not engage with us, explain the teas on the menu, or do anything to make our visit enjoyable. They stood around talking to each other, and showed little interest in the customers. The food itself was acceptable but not particularly tasty. Although 4 sandwich choices were on the menu we only received 3, and the sandwich portion given was not enough for two people.
We would not recommend it to friends or ever wish to go there again ourselves. It did not live up to the hotel brand of quality, unfortunately.
