New menu was a huge hit with my guests. Absolutely what Birmingham needed. No other Indian restaurant can match this place.
Lovely food and lovely staff! The food had so much flavour and taste, really enjoyed it
Lavish interiors, delicious food, only criticism food portions too small.
The restaurant was very nice and cosy. Absolutely lovely decor and classy. Staff were attentive and very friendly. Excellent service. Definitely coming back.
Fab interior and my dinner for the evening was a Delicious Malabari fish , leavened bread. presentation was immaculate.
A must for Indian foodies wanting to experience authentic rich and delicate tastes.
By far the most delightful service by H.
Wow! Breathtaking.. I had taken some clients to this venue from Dubai and even they were impressed! I have seen mixed reviews on this venue, but I’m not sure where they found fault. My experience was faultless, ambiance, food service was of the highest order! I have already booked again for next week with my family... my new favourite, Birmingham don’t really appreciate what they have, Embrace it!
Good food but expensive Worth traveling there. Good ambiance
Excellent service and ambience.
Perfect for any occasion. Food was the best I have ever had. Reminded me of my trip to India.
Service is very very poor it 40 min to get our drink.
Food was lovely.
We went on Valentine’s Day. The food itself was nice, but the service was awful, the waiter’s seemed to be running around a lot, perhaps the place was understaffed. Our drinks were late, twice. We’d order them was before the meal and we’d get them after we’d finish eating! We asked for ketchup and had to chase that up twice. We asked a waiter a query about whether we could order a side which wasn’t on the menu, and he never came back to us! The bill came to over £100 for a set menu which definitely was not good value for what we got.
The place is picturesque in that the decor is lovely, and they had a live band which was a nice touch, but considering it was Valentine’s Day, they didn’t make much effort to decorate the place with roses or balloons, it was pretty bland.
Generally disappointed, wouldn’t go back. Our table waiter was very pleasant though, so have now complaints about him.
Though restaurant search told us Varanasi had availability and booked on line 30mins before reservation when arrived at restaurant were told that they didn’t have a table as it was busy and we would have to wait!
They offered us 2 round tables pushed together. Think they need to update online booking as their availability said there was a table every 15 mins.
20 mins later they did find us a larger round table and offered us a round of drinks as a peace offering.
Apart from that the evening was enjoyable and Abdul our waiter was fantastic.
Best indiant food I've had! Stunning interior every dish ordered was full of flavour, i will definitely revisit
Totally amazed with this find!!! Was staying in the park Regis hotel and googled places to eat so glad we found this a total gem will defenatly return. You will not expect what you get amazing 👍
Fabulous meal once again. The waiter remembered exactly how I liked my food. The team is supported to the highest of standards when it comes to service and the chefs produce the best Indian food in Birmingham. No other restaurant rivals the ambience and setting. Beats any other Indian restaurant hands down.
It started off well, the decor was amazing and then menus didn't look too bad. We ordered our starters and although they were small, they were enough. When it came to ordering a main we wanted to order about 5 dishes as there was 7 of us and wanted to share, the waiter told us we had to order a main each. He said that this was stated in their terms and conditions on their website, which it wasn't. So we ordered the 'correct' amount. One of the waiters said he would speak to us when we had finished as he didn't want to 'spoil our meal'
When he came over we asked to see the terms and conditions and of course there wasn't any. Then we were told that it's a fine dining restaurant like 'Adams and Simpsons' and that we would be expected to do the same there. As we were unhappy he said he would take off the service charge, which of course everyone knows is optional.
I then went to speak to the waiter away from the table and he asked me to step into a 'hidden' part of the restaurant. I explained why I was unhappy and his response was very rude. I asked that if he was going to be rude then we should step out into the restaurant where there are witnesses. His response was that he would get security to escort me off the building.
I didn't want the service charge taken off and I didn't want a discount or a free dessert. I wanted the 'fine dining' restaurant to admit they were in the wrong and state such things on the website/ menus so people are aware of what is expected in such an overly priced restaurant that clearly is not fine dining. We would not have been treated in such a way at any other restaurant.
Go to Pushkars instead, food, prices, drinks, atmosphere and staff are amazing!
Absolutely stunning restaurant!! With amazing staff and food. Had my 21st birthday here, and i was blown away. I will 10000% be coming back to this restaurant. Pompadoms and dips were extremely pricey, we thought they were complimentary and we had three between 8 of us. But overall excellent place.
The restauran is incredible and the food really good.
The service was too slow and got some of the orders wrong.
perfect setting, great service and discretion was held at all time. truly impressed and will be returning.
Fabulous restaurant offering great food, great service and a fabulous interior.
We had a delicious meal here albeit quite expensive, however the price reflects the high standards this restaurant has. The service was impeccable and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
I would definitely recommend this establishment to friends and family.
Great service, great food. Haven't been disappointed at all with every one of my experiences!
Over-all a wounderful expereience here! I took my parnter as a surprise to celebrate his new job as a Chef in Finland, his mind was blown...the carrott cake is TO DIE FOR, we attempted making it at home but can't get it right ! The design was well thought and is very elegent. All staff are very attentive and made our night very special.
I had previously dined here and decided to take my work colleagues for a get together.
They were all shocked to discover such a restaurant even exists in Birmingham.
The talented chefs created some new dishes for us as a taster and they were just amazing. We all agreed that it was the best fine dining experience we have ever had in an Indian restaurant. All the dishes were cooked to perfection and there was a clear distinction between them. We ended our evening at the cocktail bar as the restaurant got full within minutes after 7.30pm... fabulous recommendation to connoisseurs of Indian haute cuisine. Awaiting our next visit soon as the ambience is just surreal.
Third time unlucky. We went twice before and it was excellent so decided to go for brother in law's birthday .. kept waiting for 30 mins despite having huge numbers of empty tables. Food tool over an hour to come and main was served whilst we were still eating starters. Food quality was a let down .... What's happened ?? Food used to be excellent but now is fairly generic Indian. Poor. And a shame won't be going back
The food and restaurant was lovely. We came for my birthday celebration.
But the service was far from it, we have to wait 10 minutes for the menu a further 10 for order to be taken. We ordered a wine which arrived that wasn't the same year as on menu and was advised it would be the same price despite being from a different year. Ordered another to be told the same. This arrived after our food arrived. Had to ask several times for bill.
Problem was there was too many people serving us. Really need floor management to prevent communication issues.
If you please organise your service better this place would be excellent. But until then, it's far from it.
Bad experience for a birthday celebration.
A true gem of a place, stunning and the service impeccable, would definitely be recommending this place.
Absolutely fabulous. Food was top notch, service beyond expectations, wonderful ambience. Bathrooms were as clean as in a five star hotel.
An incredible transformation as you walk in from the loud street into a serene, beautifully decorated restaurant.
The whole experience has been thought out and implemented perfectly, from the ambience to the service to the food. I would recommend anyone who likes Indian cuisine to go.
Loved Varanasi! Wonderful venue and gorgeous decor. Attentive service and food to die for.
Some of the food was served slightly cold but we made do as there was 14 of us. However for the price I'd expect that they would be able to cater for a slight larger party for dinner.
They tried cancelling the booking however managed to squeeze us in when we arrived at the original time slot.
I've been here before and it was amazing but was slightly let down this time due to the above.
Lovely food and ambience. Service is exemplary, lead by example! Definitely recommend to al
Beautifully decorated restaurant serving immaculately cooked new age Indian gourmet food. It's obvious the management are heading for something special with this place. If you want to experience something different this is definitely the new place in town to be at. The staff have been excellent on our visit and have a great understanding of the food and drinks they are serving. A cut above the other Indian restaurants in town!
The best meal I have had for a long time - amazing space and service faultless
The decoration is outstanding, such good taste and very inviting. Food and service was also excellent. My only criticism would be the bill, I do feel it is rather overpriced as they charge for the slightest smallest thing ie the sauces to go with the pappadums surely it should be one cost and not a separate which was a bit steep and also the service charge, surely this should be optional. Dont get me wrong, I dont mind paying for great food but it should be fair and not be overpriced.
Lovely atmosphere - ideal for couples.
Food was amazing. Service was mixed. The decor is lovely but it is not very busy so it felt a bit weird.
It was £120 for starters, mains and 3 drinks each.
Excellent ambience and great music. Service was fantastic and food was on point! I love the food each dish speaks for it's own ... the presentation is mouth watering. I would definitely recommend this restaurant perfect for any occasion as they also have private rooms.
After seeing reviews online I decided to book a table for 6 for my 28th birthday for my family and I as a celebrity meal.
On arrival the lady on reception and lounge stated that our table was not ready and will take some time. No complimentary drinks were provided. The venue itself was beautiful and the decor was amazing.
Our booking was made at 8:00pm we was not seated u too 10:00pm. The staff stated they were very busy this evening but the waiting time just became ridiculous! As you can imagine we were very hungry at this point.
Around 10:30 we were told our order did not go through on their iPads and that we would have to order again. We were every hungry at this point and argued with staff to get something out for us to eat. At first the waiter stated that he would bring out some starters that we would have to pay half for.
Our mains did not arrive until 11pm at this point we did not care about the food and just wanted to eat and leave! We ordered drinks to our table which was forgotten about and we had to remind staff of our drink orders.
We left after half past 12 and no body was in the restaurant. Once we came outside we were faced by all the clubbers and party (drunk) people, forced our way out of the entrance of restaurant where public stood, which was not very nice, especially as we was with family. We did not receive any discount off our food other than free starters. It this was a disaster of a birthday meal and has left a bad memory.
