Sicily is famous for its food and its sumptuous local produce. Being born and raised in Sicily, I was lucky enough to be brought up on some of the finest Italian food, all lovingly made by my mother using fresh, wholesome and home grown ingredients. Good Food, Family and Friends are everything in Sicily and it is these values I have brought to my own restaurant.
Also synonymous with Italy is the Vespa scooter, and in Sicily Vespa’s can still be seen everywhere. Indeed, growing up, I can still remember the fun and adventures I had with my friends on our Vespas. Hence, I named my restaurant after this unique part of Italian, and my own personal history.
We look forward to welcomi
Lovely evening..literally step away from from the bustle outside and you're in little Italy. Great before a show...simple delicious food.
Didn't want to eat at yet another Italian chain so chose Vespa, very conveniently sited by the National portrait Gallery. Prompt service. Slightly limited menu but good value for money.
Good food great area and great value for the money we paid , did think we had skipped a few months cause they play some Christmas songs made us laugh but yes we be going back so much to choose from .
Simple but tasty fare. Great hospitality.
I would not eat there. While the restaurant has its charme the food was substandard and the chef would be' chased down the street if this was in Italy. Typical central London ripp off. Wine was want. Caprese with Rocket Salad...really? What happened to Basilea? The mozzarella in the caprese tasted like Tescos Basic range...chewy as hell. The salumi platter did not even have a prosciutto crudo on it. This was processed ham and only one sort of cheese. Must have been emmental cheese. The pizza was ok but not crispy at all. What a disaster. It felt that the restaurant was run by University students. Disaster
Quick friendly and welcoming service topped off by good food sensibly priced for the area.
Waiters were unobtrusive yet available and responsive.
The restaurant with its scooter theme manages to house a good atmosphere while complemented by a pleasant outdoor area.
We booked a table just before a show at the Garrick across the road--and we were treated so kindly that we would return again just for the service. But luckily, the food was fresh--both in its preparation and with the ingredients used: tender calamari stuffed with aubergine in a tangy tomato sauce and a vegetable terrine so fresh, so perfectly cooked and cooled that each bite provided a few seconds of happiness. The cost £30 for two-course meal and a glass of wine--was reasonable. I am sure I'll return.
Beautiful food and even better service. Throughly enjoyed my experience and will be back
Although the restaurant was extremely busy with pre theatre meals, we had brilliant service delivered by professional and friendly staff. The table was waiting for us in the window even though we arrived 30 minutes late (we had received a call to check that we were still coming). The food that followed was excellent. We would definitely recommend Vespa and hope to visit again soon! Excellent value for money. Thank you
Nice to find an independent restaurant near Leicester Square. We shared a Caprese salad then had mains of Ravioli Ricotta& spinach and Tortiglione amatrciana - all enjoyable. A bottle of Gio Rosso went well with the food. Ice cream to follow. Service very efficient.
It is a small but welcoming restaurant with good food. It is in the theater district and walking distance to many theaters.
Have visited Vespa before and had a wonderful meal, but this time it was very disappointing. Our starters of bruschetta was a slice of French bread with a few mushrooms on the top (they tasted tinned) and a few limp pieces of rocket. Our main was carbonara, mine had no sauce and my daughter had a lot of sauce on hers!
We had a lovely meal and nicely finished off with a very tasty Espresso Martini. Would definitely go back.
Pleasant helpful staff in this busy restaurant, on a busy walkway. The food was delicious And was served in good time. The drinks were affordable and the service was good I would definitely return to sample more of the menu. The only criticism I would have is that the chairs were uncomfortable and caution would have been gratefully received. Having said that I would recommend to friends and family.
Lovely pre theatre meal, very friendly staff, great service and delicious italian food.
Warm and friendly service with exceptional down to earth cooking, including unexpected regional dishes. A standout charming oasis in a sea of chain restaurants around Leicester Sq.
lovely ambiance, good food and freindly service. would recommend and return.
Food & customer service both excellent. Really good atmosphere
Wonderful authentic Italian. Gnocchi and Carbonara were excellent.
We had good hopes of this restaurant being privately owned and seeing other reviews and we weren't disappointed. The food was really good, I am licking my lips just remembering it, and the service was both friendly and the right amount of attentiveness. My wife and I will be looking for any excuse to return.
The food was nice but the service let us down a little, several things were forgotten including the veg to accompany one of our parties main dish. They did come eventually and the price was removed from the bill as she had eaten her fish before they arrived.
There was an automatic 12.5% added as a voluntary service charge which puts you in an awkward position when the service isn't the best.
We had a lovely table, meal & service, thanks very much
Super happy about this nice Italian Restaurant, food is delicious and staff very friendly, l will definitely come back again with the family! ❤️
I ordered the Seabass served with Mashed Potato. I couldn't see any Mashed Potato, so I asked. I was told it was in the sauce - a tiny amount of mashed potato in a little sauce!! Not happy. What I had was nice, but not enough for the money.
Friendly restaurant, quirky interior, good food, helpful staff. Just don’t sit by the door, very cold and draughty.
Great Italian food in a vespa themed restaurant , lovely service , highly recommend
Lovely nice small place. We enjoyed our dinner before we went to the cinema near by. Really nice carbonara and good deserts. Very good service. Thanks to Davide for great evening.
- Bedienung sehr unaufmerksam fast etwas frech!
We should of known better when we entered and heard some people near the door talking about their food and one exclaimed "is it still cold!?!".
We ordered our food Spaghetti Bolognese and a Carbonara and sure enough.... Ours was also far from warm when it arrived and had to go back. Mine was ok when it returned but my girlfriend's still wasn't that warm.
Being served in cold dishes probably doesn't help!!
Also, the Spaghetti Bolognese on the menu looked really appealing and a nice generous serving (heaped up and good amount of meat) but sadly when it arrived (cold) it was probably only half the size and nowhere near the amount of meat/sauce!!
Very average food. Very squeezed in tables. Nice waiters. Didn’t live up to expectation having read previous reviews.
The food came so fast it clearly wasn't freshly made. The glasses my drinks came in were dirty and one was stained with coffee (water glass).
My starter was bruschetta but it was actually a French stick cut up.
My main came like warm so they microwaved it.
The staff were lovely but I wouldn't go back, sorry
Friendly relaxed atmosphere. Table available on arrival. Good service and food
A great find ! Lovely people serving wonderful Italian food.
Great pasta dishes! I had the Arrabiata which was nicely spiced and very flavorful. My wife had the mushroom risotto which was also quite good. The classic bruschetta was delicious, only wished there was s little bit more. This eatery is a surprisingly good value just 1/2 block from Leicester Square without being touristy.
Received my main meal 10 minutes prior to my partners meal and the plates were cold. The couple next to us were served their main meal before they had finished their starters. The main course food was cool. We both ordered spaghetti dishes but were served linguini. Nothing good to say.
Really enjoyed my meal here, the food was great and very reasonably priced. My only very minor complaint was the customer service, while the waiting staff were good, very polite, helpful and we had a good chat with them, they were a little all over the place/rushed around. Most likely due to the it being busy and quite a cramped venue.
Overall I would return to Vespa.
Table was poky. Food very pricey for what was actually served. Worst lasagne ever. Cut from a larger dish, dry and no sauce. Very small tepid portion. White wine was warm. Ice cream portion small and already melting. For the price of the meal we could have had a REAL meal. Very very disappointed. Never again.
Really lovely food, charming waiter and food came quickly and was delicious.
Would highly recommend!
Good value for location and quality. Excellent service.
I’ll come back
Really lovely genuine Italian restaurant in the heart of the West End. Great value
