Great for foodies who enjoy experimental flavours.
It was a fantastic experience. Jerome made us feel welcome and it was really amazing to have him serving us that night. He has great knowledge About food and wine and Of course, passion for customer service.
Our favourite dish of the tasting menu was the cod (I would happily pay £70 just for that dish!) Followed by the chicken liver parfait. Both dishes were really outstanding. The lamb was disappointing, unfortunately. Our pieces of lamb were both fatty and quite hard to chew. After such a fantastic experience with the cod, I felt the lamb was a real let down.
But the whole meal was lovely, the wine pairing was absolutely spot on and we loved the evening. Just a detail, maybe the courses should be a bit more paced so people can finish the wines and enjoy the experience. I didn’t feel the meal was rushed but we had fine dinning meals before and they we more paced, leaving time for us to finish our drinks before the next one.
Overall, a fantastic experience. I do recommend it!
lovely staff and service, however the food was dissapointing. after visiting a similar restaurant, the quality did not compare
Fantastic restaurant, great food and drinks, with very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I dine out regularly at high end restaurants and this might be my new favourite.
Food was exceptional! We really enjoyed our evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Thankypu to all the staff!
We could not fault the appearance and taste of the food. The staff were very polite and informative. The only reason my mark is a little lower on ambiance is due to the reduced table capacity for social distancing, so this is something which is out of the restaurants control just now. Would highlyrecommend as a special occasion venue.
The food was outstanding , the waiting staff were extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine's
Service was fantastic and the food was great although there was no real theme behind the menu
The pandemic has changed the dining experience. Jerome was amazing. The food was.... some was Amazing some was ok. I don’t think it deserved a £200 price tag. I wouldn’t go again. But at least we tried it.
Never disappointed eating here, service is impeccable and the food is sublime - it’s our favourite restaurant.
Food was good, service was good, nice place to eat, I would recommend it.
Gorgeous food, albeit expensive.
Good service but felt a little rushed as we had the7 taster menu.
Generous portions & the wine list was good, with well informed staff.
Jerome in the cocktail bar was great- perfect G&T
Quiet for a Saturday night.
Just such a nice vibe. Definitely worth the trip to Leeds.
This was our first time here - whilst so we decided to go the whole hog and have the 10 courses and the premium wine so £170 each. The food was OK nothing bad but nothing outstanding. The wine pairings didn't represent value for money. NV Taittinger, petit Chablis, Godello, etc - very average version of the style and pretty small glasses too.
Service was OK not sure the setting is particularly appropriate - with service charge £400 for two people is a lot of money for what we got
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Vice & Virtue. We had the 7 course tasting menu & the food was amazing. The staff were very attentive & knowledgeable aswell. The bar downstairs has a nice vibe & the cocktails are great. Whilst we agree with some previous reviews that the decor in the restaurant upstairs is a little ‘basic’ and minimalist, we didn’t think it affected anything about our experience and the atmosphere was relaxed, less pretentious than other similar restaurants & therefore very enjoyable. Thankyou!
Just perfect. Every time I am so satisfied with their food.
Amazing place, the food was spectacular, the wines were amazing and the staff were awesome, highly recommend this place, ideal for special occasions
First visit here over the weekend and all I can say is WOW! The food was superb - things I wouldn’t normally even like tasted delicious. For a special occasion or something a little bit different I’d definitely recommend Vice & Virtue. Not the cheapest meal but you can see where the money goes and it was worth it for the whole experience of the evening.
I felt the menu involved too many ceviche dishes and cold dishes.
Really enjoyed the visit, good service, good food.
Incredible food, really friendly service and great drinks. All we could have asked for really!
We ate at V&V whilst they had their January dining offer on. At that price, fantastic value for money! Excellent service and lovely dining environment.
A bit disappointing based on it's reputation, the food was nice but definitely not special.
We had the Veggie tasting menu so maybe their meat dishes are better.
The entrance and greeting at the restaurant were Abismal Tables Ok but ambiance much to be desired .
The waiter tried to be professional but was running up and down between two floors with the chef having to fill in where necessary so all fell short of being good .
The food which was a tasting menu again tried to be that of a top class establishment but fell well and truly short in fact on our arrival home I was extremely sick and my husband got the runs. So overall not a good experience. We will not be returning as overall it was not a good experience and would not recommend to anyone
Was very very good, great food and had the place to ourselves!
Really good night out, quite quiet but it was a Wednesday. Food was a highlight, superb, especially the starters.
An amazing little restaurant, with big flavours of foods. Great service too! Will go again and have recommended friends.
Restored my faith in the North able to do fine and funky dining. Tremendous food combinations, stylish surroundings, good wine list and attentive staff. Took mum here on a Saturday night and she loved it. Leeds finally has a restaurant to compete with London's best. Highly recommended.
Good food and well presented. Wines too expensive and the place was difficult to find. Poorly lit outside and the large bar area was a bit dingy
This place used to be very good but after our experience on Saturday night we will not be returning.
Great atmosphere! Awesome experience worth it.
Food and service very good. Friendly welcome from the staff. Dessert a let down though. Just ice cream covered in things that resembled toasted maggots and tasted like sugar puffs.
nice ideas poorly executed, would not recommend. nice staff, good cocktails but poor food, taster menu was dissapointing
We arrived at vice & virtue and we were greeted at the bar with great service. We ordered the signature tasting menu and were shown to our table in the restaurant upstairs. The service rapidly declined we had ordered the tasting menu with the drinks pairing this took 4hrs for all the food to come out! We were getting the drinks for the course and the delay was so much we had finished them by the time the food had come out. When your spending about £150pp you expect good service, this was disappointing as the food, once each course arrived was good and very impressivly presented.
It's a shame the service let the place down, other people were complaining too when we left so I have a feeling this is not a one-off.
Top class service and food. Amazing way to spend my partners birthday. Lovely time in main restaurant and cocktail bar. Will 100% be returning. Thankyou for all the staff for a great time.
A restaurant that is all about the excellent food. Great combinations and flavours, very inventively presented. I’m not sure the restaurant has quite sorted out its theme, ambiance etc. The name isn’t followed through into any theme or into the decor which is strangely very contrasting between the bar and the dining room where they definitely need to get rid of the cheap plastic plants. There are some strange photographs within the food photos on the website and you could easily walk past this place without ever realising there is a good restaurant inside. If they manage to get the marketing and decor to match the excellent food and service this would be a very good restaurant indeed.
Our experience is that this is a great place for something a little bit different. Food is imaginative and tasty. Staff are friendly and welcoming
Interesting and tasty food. Friendly service. Will definitely return when next in Leeds.
This was one of the best dining experiences that I have ever had. The tasting menu was extraordinary served with great knowledge and full of interesting tastes and textures foraged from the local area.
The space itself is interesting and on first visit does not seem like a top class food experience, but this is quickly dispelled with the fantastic service and the first course. If you like Michelin quality food get to Vice and Virtue as fast as you can.
We enjoyed our visit enormously. The food was interesting and varied, and the service well orchestrated. The deserts were particularly outstanding.
