Victuals & co
Using the the best of local fresh produce wherever possible, our menu reflects the seasons. It is small and changes frequently and our chefs strive to maintain a consistently high quality and diversity. We will always feature a vegetarian and fish option as well as meat.
We are proud of our wines and have an extensive list of the best Kentish examples.

I just love Victuals. Have been many times and never had a bad meal, the food is always of the highest quality. The staff are friendly, with just the right amount of attention and chat.
A special treat for my much better half whom states this is her favourite place.
Was going in January but was being refurbished.
So booked it and went.
Welcome was so friendly, beautiful decor and background music not too loud, not many dinners and felt very exclusive for a romantic meal for two.
House wine very good, served by a lovely blonde lady, very knowledgeable of menu and smiley.
She loves her job and the business.
Ordered fillet steaks x2 and can say the best I've ever had with chips and grilled lettuce heart .
As I'm a coffee addict the extra strong was spot on.
So I'm going again, it's not cheap but there again quality is key and you pay for that.
So well done to you all and have another dedicated follower, as my better half already is.
Ps I'm the gluten and lactose intolerance one lol
This is the 4th or 5th time we have visited and always impressed. Food is exceptional, as to is the service. Can't really fault Victuals.
Hidden gem... Beautiful decor, fabulous food, excellent service, all round wonderful experience.... Definitely recommend.... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had a fabulous meal! The staff are all wonderful.
Good food, & an engaging host. Service was attentive without being intrusive, this is a nice place to enjoy good food. Deal is quite a seasonal town. Victuals was busy despite it being the middle of winter.
Victuals doesn't disappoint. The food is wonderful; the combination of flavours is unusual and superb. The desserts melt on the tongue. The house wine was very good. The waiter was lovely. I'll be back!
One of the two best restaurants in Deal, super evening and we will be back soon!
Thank you to the exceptionally kind staff who found a table for us downstairs as where we were originally seated was upstairs by ourselves.
Food was brilliant. Great selection of Kent wines too.
This is a really lovely neighbourhood restaurant and you can tell that thought and care has been put into it.
Had a wonderful steak night at Victuals. The steak were all cooked to perfection with a lovely variety of accompaniments. Very relaxed atmosphere, and staff were very friendly and keen to ensure we had a good experience. It was a lovely opportunity to relax in good company after all the Christmas celebrations, and not worry about cooking. Thank you Victuals for a very enjoyable evening. Compliments to the chef as all steaks were cooked as requested, and couldn’t fault anything 😋
we had a delightful evening at Victuals on a wet and windy Thursday evening in the week before Christmas. Atmosphere was warm & cosy (despite lack of customers), Food was exceptional and service was very friendly but not intrusive. Enjoyed ourselves so much we have booked for their steak night on 27th. Highly recommended
Been here several times ,always a superb dining experience and great for a special occasion.
Sunday nights Raid the Larder is good value too.
Absolutely loved it. We went for the Sunday roast for my birthday and it was delicious. Will definitely be going back!
Excellent evening from the moment we got there and were greeted by the staff. Service and food both excellent. Would highly recommend.
Delicious food in nice surroundings. The scallops were amazing and the raspberry souffle was as light as a cloud. We'll definitely be back.
Marvellous gem tucked away on St George’s Passage. Superb food - I would recommend the scallops. Friendly and professional service. A real find - would absolutely recommend.
We liked the new staff and menu more than we had on previous visits - we haven't been to Victuals for several months. Service was very helpful but not pushy or intrusive - we were offered two wines to taste, which was generous. You were also generous in discounting our first drinks because of an error in the bill, so thank you.
My smoked haddock risotto was lush. My vegetarian husband doesn't often find food he really enjoys, but his starter and main were both delicious. Would you think about adding more vegetarian dishes, for the one in eight, these days, who would be grateful?
Thank you for a lovely evening.
The front staff are always cheery and give recognition to regular patrons. They are knowledgeable of the menu and can give good advice on it and the wines in the cellar. Good ambience and so pleeasant to be in company with other diners who can talk to their table, not at them.. Always a pleasure to visit.
We had a lovely evening at Virtual and Co for my partners birthday. They even put a candle on his dessert and sang for him :)
Never fails to disappoint. Fantastic food and service as always
Excellent food, service (nothing was too much trouble and lovely setting
Will be booking again shortly
Lovely place with great food and attentive service. Don’t know if the women’s loo was as interesting as the men’s which I used inadvertently! Would definitely recommend and if in the area would visit again. Fresh ingredients plenty of skill in the cooking - delightful
Super friendly and food was amazing!! Made to feel welcome and well looked after from start to finish.
enjoyed our meal, fish was really nice, staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Local wine was very good. BUT.....no bananas!
Always a very friendly and perfectly timed service and great quality food
The food was excellent. The wine list was extremely good. The service was exemplary.
Lovely birthday meal nice local cider and wine, we booked early so only people in restaurant but got busy before we left
Nice restaurant conveniently located. We went on a Friday evening in September. We found it was a little quiet which meant that when we arrived, we were seated, given our drinks and even asked to order food within five minutes, so it did feel a bit rushed. The food though was delicious and reasonably good value. Worth a visit!
Delicius meal & good service
Wife commended Victuals and I can understand why. However the food was nothing better than average and rather sorry not more positive after special meal
Absolutely fantastic. Food was amazing, brilliant service and will definitely be returning again. Perfect night
It was a quiet Friday lunchtime, service was attentive and just at the right pace (not rushed and not slow). The place has a relaxing ambience, well designed artwork and interior. Good menu choices, not overwhelming. Quality wines, I had the house white which was spot on. The smoked salmon starter was a salmon steak, freshly smoked in a smoker, which fell apart beautifully and had enough moisture (not dried out) to tantalise the tongue. This was served with some highly flavoured garlic mayonnaises and petite tomato and cucumber swirls. Delicious. I had the shoulder of lamb for main, with creamy mash. The lamb was melt in the mouth and sticky with a rich jus that had plenty of depth. Portion sizes were ample, without being over indulgent. Friendly staff who provided good advice and guidance on the food and wines. Will go again.
Not a good start. For a 19:15 booking in a then almost empty restaurant being shown to an upstairs table immediately next to the Gents was almost unbelievable. However when staff were advised that this was not acceptable we were offered and accepted a very nice table on ground floor! What's that about? Food and wine (good selection of English wines) was Ok but in no way special/unusual/exceptional and definitely overpriced for what it was.
We have been to Victuals a number of times. Our last visit was for a special occasion and there were 8 if us dining. It was a lovely night the service was excellent, the food superb (I think between the 8 of us we went through the menu). When I booked I was asked if any of our party had allergies (one haf a chilli intolerance) and they took this into account brilliantly even phoning me the day before to double check. The following day when we all met up, everyone was really complimentary. So thanks again to all staff at Victuals.
Great food and great service. I almost felt like a member of the family. The duck was especially good.
Very nice restaurant, good local wine and lovely food.
What stood out for us was the highly efficient and friendly service. The staff knew about the menu to a great depth and were very helpful, particularly for a gluten free diet. The food was gorgeous, and having a set menu on a Sunday night made things easier to choose.
