Great service, they really make you feel at home. I can't say the food was amazing but it was good and the service enhanced the experience.

We were the only individuals in the restaurant, and I was disappointed with the ambience, and overall attention to service given we were the only ones there. The staff was kind. However, I felt the service could have improved with more attention to orders (who ordered what), and perhaps more attention given it was our first time there. I don't intend to go back.

The food here is amazing! I’ve never had duck enchiladas before but they were absolutely delicious. The staff was so friendly and made sure we were well taken care of.

Everything gluten free is labeled on their menu and the quesadillas are made with corn instead of flour tortillas

Enjoyed the agua fresca, huitlecoche quesadilla. Crab tacos weren't my favorite as the lime from the guacamole overpowered the lighter flavors of the crab.
Service was polite and attentive.

I wanted to like this place but the food was just so so. The cauliflower tacos were actually pretty bad - soggy and not much flavor. The enchiladas were pretty flavorless too. My husband thought the pork plantain dish was really good though. Wouldn’t recommend.

Management gave us a hard time at the end of the meal when we asked them to split up the check. It took us 10 minutes to convince them to do so. Otherwise, experience was good.

We mostly did appetizers. The nachos seemed to be a modern take, with a fried taco layered with the traditional ingredients and finally layered with meat (chorizo in our case). Then we tried the various tacos on the appetizer menu. Every single one of them was delicious and did not disappoint. There was the duck tacos, the pulpo tacos (grilled octopus). There was a grilled cauliflour appetizer, that seemed to be seasonal which was also very good. The cocktails were decent, and not overly sweet (at least the mule that I had was not very sweet).

We have been coming here for brunch and dinner and we absolutely love Villa Cemita. They always make us feel at home, with their impeccable friendly service. The food and chef are both sweet! It is so admirable to know a mother started this restaurant the food is a reflection of her passion for her cultural roots of Puebla, Mexico. Chef Alejandra’s food is spot on delicious and a real taste of Puebla, mole is a must try here. I’m glad we live near this place that has the heart of a mom and pop shop but you walk in and it’s so beautiful and elegant yet cozy, romantic and energetic and I highly recommended!

The food and drinks were not good. The service was also quite bad - they failed to remove onions even though I have an allergy and forgot to give my credit card back at the end of the meal. $28 for five tacos is super overpriced given the quality.

Villa Cemita was just fine. The chips, salsa, and guac were good. It was a birthday celebration and they brought out a dessert with fire works, which was amazing. The food is good and the margaritas were fine. For some reason it was very hot in the restaurant. It was also very noisy - but it was Saturday night.

They charged my group $55 per bottle for prosecco although this price was no where to be found on the menu. This seemed absurd giving bottomless mimosa brunch was an additional $18. We just didn’t want the orange juice. Also the food was underwhelming.

Probably the best salad I ever had, very filling and delicious. I couldn’t stop eating it, the huitlacoche and poblano peppers adds such an interesting flavor. The chicken was tender and perfectly made. I can’t say how much I appreciated this salad entree, healthy and iconic!
I wouldn’t normally order wine at a Mexican restaurant but I gave a shot and it was also high quality wine. Everything about this place is lovely. The ambience is cozy, artsy, clean and romantic, my server was extremely friendly and funny. Such a great spot to stop by when in the East Village!

Brunch here is fun and if you’re like us you’ll be here for hours. Highly recommend for boozy brunch experience.
Tamal Benedict is the best Benedict I had. Whomever created it was really thinking outside the box. They also do this cool birthday bowls- is a churro bowl topped with gelato and fun toppings. Comes with sparkling candle and gave us a shot celebrating birthday.
Everyone around us seem to be having a good time, great vibes. The staff is all so friendly and sweet!
Thank you guys for making this brunch experience a blast!
Great for larger parties, as it seems popular with groups of 10-20 ppl. Drinking options mimosa, sangria, beer and my favorite frozen margaritas pitchers 2 hour limit per reservation is definitely better than other venues that try to push you to leave after an hour or so...finally found my brunch spot!

The Food
Last night I dined here. It was a busy night for them, and yet they were very attentive with us. We orders a large order of tacos all which were flavorful. The al pastor, carnitas and duck tacos were so delicious. We also got the skirt steak cooked to perfection not too red not too cooked. The guacamole was perfectly chunky and probably the best guacamole I’ve tried in years!!!!
Mexican salad is probably my ultimate favorite. Lean, clean, and delicious. What more can you ask for a healthy option? You can’t go wrong with this healthy option. I’ll be back for more! Food value is priced right and drinks are even better, they don’t have a happy hour but they have
Many cocktail options including margaritas at an incredible price of $7 on the weekdays menu. Even better, no time restrictions.
Everything came out on time and warm. Cocktails were a hit I suggest jalapeño cucumber margaritas or Pedro’s Mule!

The Service
I’ve been living in NYC for 6 years now. High end and small shops. Interestingly hospitality and service are two very distinctive things. I have to say, it’s the first time I feel at home. The manager introduced himself and the server was magnificent. Overall, they seem to really care and be more interested in making sure you have a good time than anything else. This certainly adds extra value to the experience on another level.

Ambience
Although it was full and a bit loud you can feel like your right at home in a cool east village vibe. Art work all over, the colors and design of the space are welcoming. Practically stayed for hours, and didn’t even notice. Awesome comfortable seating.

5 stars all the way thank you for making this night an unforgettable one!!! We’ll be back for more Villa Cemita
