Village Grill - Village Hotel Birmingham Walsall Ratings and Reviews
staff were so kind helpful pleasant made me feel so welcome really enjoyed my time there . wasn't keen on my pasta option have had better but as for the restraunt was outstanding as well as service . hubby loved his lamb but did feel was a bit bloody red undercooked for lamb .
Nice selection of starters including lovely warm rolls and strangely, pork pie! The carvery had 3 roasts and a good selection of veg all nice and hot.
Desserts included apple crumble with custard and some cold dishes all help yourself.
The waitress was welcoming and helpful.
This is the third time I have been for Sunday lunch. The staff are helpful & friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is very good.freshly cooked . I took my mom & sister who thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
Only two tiny complaints. First time ever the roast beef was tough &my sister had Eton Mess for dessert. The berries were still frozen & there was no meringue ¡
Apart from that excellent value & very enjoyable !
Food and service were very good, staff made us feel welcome. Only disappointment was that staff did not appear to know about our booking when we arrived (booked on 10th October - 6 weeks in advance for 8 people). A table had not been prepared so unfortunately we had to wait while staff moved two tables together for us.
This was annoying in view of the advance notice and receipt of several reminder emails from the venue in the lead up to the event but then a table was not ready for us. When we arrived the Village Grill restaurant was empty so no excuse really.
Good value for money but a few improvements could make it outstanding, e.g. the starters could be presented in a more creative & attractive way as could the sauces. The roast potatoes need to be golden brown & crispy so that they match the freshness of the other vegetables.
Had booked a table for 2.15pm but when we arrived our table was still occupied. As a result we did not sit down until 3pm. Staff very friendly and did apologise for the wait. I surpose it is the temptation of the all you can eat buffet!!! We had booked for Father's Day and the 2 dads in our party enjoyed their free pint of beer on offer to all dads that day. Food was lovely and excellent value for money. Constantly topping up the buffet so everything was available and in plenty supply. All in all we had a smashing time.
Food was not great, not at the same standard as the Solihull Village Grill. Chicken was served as useasoned breasts, vegetables were all dried out, stuffing was rock solid and we were asked to wait 15 minutes for a table that was pre-booked.
Okay but wouldn't be in a rush to return.
