Just really disappointed that they advertise that kids eat free then charged me for my two kids and there excuse was that they have changed the offer I got last time to only under 5’s eat free! If this is the case it should have changed your T&C’s on line! Didn’t cause a fuss at the time as it was full. I just will not be returning.

Table wasn't a big round table. Food from the carvery was horrible. Meat was undercooked and the carrots overdone. The mash potato tasted fishy was not impressed swapped it for boneless chicken pieces they went back also they were saturated in salt yuk! Service was slow and they worked with no urgency. It said on this open table advertisement that it was £14.95 each but that was incorrect as it was £17.95 so that was annoying. My meal was refunded off the bill. Overall was gutted as went for mothering sunday and my mums birthday glad they enjoyed their food. I would like to enquire about a refund for £12 becaude the price difference from on here to the restaurant.

Starters and puddings were good but the main course was disappointing. The beef was quite tough and some of the veg was over cooked.
The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly.

Overall the evening was ok. The food was great, but the service was slow on a relatively empty restaurant. It was not very warm we,were seated by the window which had a cold draft coming across. Even if we had moved I don’t think it would have been any warmer. The atmosphere was non existent. We think the restaurant is set up for business and people staying at the hotel. The food and drink is very expensive and then they had the check to add on the service charge when there was only 4 of us dining. Would I recommend NO sorry.

Unfortunately 3 courses for £15 clearly isn’t sustainable and you can tell from the quality. The starter is good the main is mediocre and the desserts a disaster.

it was valentine's night, our table was booked for 9:45. The service was rushed, we wernt made very welcome, it seemed they just wanted us to hurry up and go. our starter was nice and so was our desert but unfortunately our main course was dampened by uncooked pork kebabs. we of cause couldn't eat the pork, when the waitress asked was everything okay with our meal i explained about the pork not being cooked she agreed as she could he for herself and just said " sorry about that". no offer to reconcile the matter. with our meal 2 glasses of prosecco was included which had to ask for twice and only got at the end of our meal. overall not very impressed with the 'village grill'. i don't think ill be returning for dinner.

Brilliant! Table was large enough for the 13 of us. Sunday lunch deal is amazing value, starters were all lovely and something for everyone. Carvery was well stocked and meat was cooked to perfection. Staff were polite and proactive.
Sweets you help yourself too, again all hot that should be, waffles and ice cream again something to every ones taste. Will be coming again. Thanks for a lovely afternoon .

Food was ok
Potatoes were too herby/garlicky lost the potato flavour completly. Waitress was too familiar. Drinks werent fully available due to the bar being busy so had to have 3rd choice drink. Service charge was automarically added which was just rude.

We were extremely disappointed. The staff were not interested and spent their time chatting even though they could see we were ready to order. The starters were average. Our main courses arrived apart from mine. After waiting 10 minutes and the staff standing around doing nothing, my husband asked where it was. Basically, the had forgotten and it hadn't even been cooked. My husband ordered Piri Chicken, it tasted like fish and was rubbery. When we complained, the waitress said that they get lots of complaints! We won't be returning

We really enjoyed our time at Village Hotel Solihull. The staff was very attentive and very helpful. I originally booked a table for 5 but wanted a table for 10. I tried to do this online but for some reason it didn't work and my request wasn't seen by the hotel. Once there, I spoke to the staff who accommodated my request. I was very pleased with the response.

Easy booking, friendly staff, fresh veg and good choice of starters and desserts. The only feedback I can give is that the starters were not that child friendly - but they preferred the puddings anyway! lol

Very good value for money when using the coupon we had at xmas from party at the Village

Nice food, service a bit slow and didn't like the fact that there was a service charge on the bill, which I imagine the waiting staff don't see. Refused to pay it and got it removed from the bill. Little bit expensive also

The Sunday lunch buffet leaves a lot to be desired. Advertised on their website as 4 course. First course is soup. One flavour of soup to be exact, hardly a course. Second course is cold meats which didn’t have a huge selection but was quite good. The Sunday lunch itself was very disappointing. Beef very dry and pretty small portion size, despite being unlimited. Yorkshire pudding and pigs in blankets good but only given one of each. Roast potatoes warm and slightly lumpy (undercooked). Veg was good but the the mash had a layer of oil on top so avoided. Gravy VERY watery with little taste. Dessert would have been better left out. I’ve cream is sickly artificial sweet with a weird texture. Waffles weren’t replaced at all in the time we were there meaning they had sat there a while by the time we got to them. They looked wet and limp and were smothered in sugar so didn’t have them.

First tried the Sunday lunch here a few years ago and it was amazing so chose this place over a closer and cheaper carvery. Left feeling very robbed and embarrassed at bringing two friends there promising it was great.

We had the all you can eat Sunday roast, the food was generally not seasoned and lack flavour. The selection of starters was poor, some pats, pork pie and leafy salads. The selection for the main was what you would expect, but the meat wasn't seasoned, the potatoes weren't crispy and it was all very bland. The selection for desert was very poor, a lemon cheesecake, some chocolate mouse, waffles and fruits. They ran out of ice cream from the ice cream machine. The waitresses were lovely, but the buffet carvers were not approachable. The restaurant was packed so the ambiance was not great. Don't be fooled, it is not value for money - a pub carvery is better and cheaper in most places.

The table we were originally allocated was far too small for 10 people, we asked to be moved and we were to a slightly larger table. We were disappointed in starters and sweets as the choice is nearly always the same we would have liked a bit more variation. Carvery was fine. When I checked bill at home I had been overcharged by £5.25 on the drinks bill, my son had 2 pints but I was charged for 3, I should have looked more careful at the time but we were asked to vacate our table for the next sitting so I didn't notice the overcharge. Won't rush to return

Unfortunatly our vegetables were not very warm which spoilt our meal. Also i am a vegetarian and there was nothing avaliable for me to have from the starter selection. There were not many staff and as no one came to ask if our meal was ok nothing was mentioned. We have eaten here before on several occasions but am not sure if we will do so again. There were 4 of us so it wasn't a cheap meal out. We came on 3rd September for the sunday carvery.
