Lovely food, great atmosphere, staff very helpful 😌
Prompt service friendly staff.
Portion sizes were very small for price charged although food was tasty.
This was miss sold to me by Open Table. The food is a set menu with little choice. The chicken skewers was chewy and the Sunday lunch plastic. It is a far cry from the way it used to be but someone has to pay for the refurb. Unfortunately, there was 3 couples and it still took 2 hours to get food. Go to Ashton Moss or the Harvester next door. You get good quality food, descent options & portions for half the price. Village, I’m disappointed to say the least !
Mel and team made our anniversary very special. The food was great and service was excellent. Thank you for making our anniversary so special.
Would recommend but don't have the cocktails they aren't made fresh they come out of a bottle for £6.50 each!!!!
Fabulous service & great food. This is now our go-to place for me and a few colleagues to have a natter & something nice to eat. Big shout out to the guys who added some extra special lovely touches for my colleague's belated Birthday celebration.
Great if you like sports they have big screens
Typical pub grub
Village Hotel should market their restaurants better than they do. For £15 you get a 3 course meal very well cooked. The food is excellent quality and you get a mix of self serve and served to table
Quality fresh food ,good selection. Like the new Sunday lunch/brunch good value.
Awful from start to finish. Food was horrible was in there over 2.5 hours service was slow. Would not recommend Sunday lunch now they have changed it from a carvery. Starters tiny desserts poor choice and Sunday lunch inedible. Had to wait on several occasions for them to put enough starters out and desserts. We were a party of 9 and 4 meals came out 20 mins later than everyone else’s. Food items missing from most people’s meals. Waitress was very apologetic and so was the manager and we didn’t pay for the meal. Was for my husbands birthday which was ruined. Very disappointed and won’t be returning unfortunately and we have been numerous times in the past and loved it!
We were waiting over 1hour to order all the order was all mixed up 1 dinner was missing
We had to remove all our finished plates glass,s cutlery ourselves
So we could order some sweets for the children and then 1 was left out again
Horrible night to say the least no I will not be goin back there.
We knew the seating was in the bar but I don't class a sports bar as a good environment to enjoy a meal. Waitress was lovely but service slow. Menu very poor selection. Main course good. Desserts very poor value. Noise levels meant we were glad to get out.
Ended up there during a live football game. Noise was horrendous, the atmosphere even worse. Rather would have gone to the “street corner” pub..
Venue was cold and noisy. I wouldn’t use the pub & grill section again for lunch unless it was for watching sports and drinking.
The Sunday lunch was delicious and whilst the starters were good, we had to ask for plates, several items were missing from the menu as they had not been replenished and tgen the soup split all over our dish as the previous user had not secured the lid on the jug. None of this had been supervised by staff snd we kept having to walk around the restaurant area to alert staff to these issues.
The ambience was good but there was a large, noisy crowd of mainly males present to watch the football which at times was quite intrusive. I would therefore not recommend this venue for a family Sunday lunch as it was difficult to have a conversation without raising our voices at times.
The staff were very pleasant, the area was clean and the restaurant was well designed and nicely decorated. The puddings were delicious but quite expensive like the drinks!
Very poor use to be a great place to have food with lovely restaurant they have now had a Re-fit and it’s terrible it was like the Wild West in their
A whacky warehouse gone wrong.
The staff where no where to be seen.
No one to greet you to your table.
Was terrible will not be returning
Village hotel please don’t ruin any of the others venues as you got this one wrong
Sunday night deal at hotel includes two course so was good value for money
Had the steak 2 for £30. I asked for it medium rare. The waitress said “ you can have it rare or well done as the steak is that thin. I got it rare it wasn’t even warm. The chips were nice tho. Not happy with the extra charge for peppercorn sauce. The glass of red wine with it was nice except the glass being covered in lipstick. Will go back but not for the steak
Excellent service from our waitress considering it was Saturday evening and extremely busy and very noisy.
Really disappointed with the carvery last week soup was cold and desert was breakfast
I had a lovely meal and the service provided by Joanne was second to none.
Can't fault it - food great and very good value for money, service brilliant by all, especially Joanne who went the extra mile.
Will definitely be returning.
Food was terrible worst iv ever had. Could compare to Hospital food in the 70's. Slump in the middle of rowdy football fans. Not a place for family meals at all. The food tasted horrible. The roasted potatos wasnt even roasted. Charged me full adult price for my 15 year old daughter who ate nothing. £60 for a carvery your having a laugh. How can they get it so wrong. 2 meats beef and Ham, instant mash , hard carrots , horrible cabbage , cauliflower coffee tub with gravy in thats your meal. Side was a prawn coxktail or roll mop. Soup starter. And deserts where terrrible. A trifle , a strawberry mouse , a lemon mouse or ice cream... all in small yogurt pot style cups. Worst 4 course meal ever. Worst carvery ever and also over charged for it. They have large tv screens blasting football and let any of the locals in whoever chooses. Worse than weatherspoons on giro day i wreckon.
Overall food great. Noise level was quite loud difficult to hear my friend talk at times. Even after MCFC game had finished.
Very friendly staff with excellent food. I would recommend
I would recommend the village pub and grill to anyone. The food is good and at the Ashton Moss branch we were served by Joanne who was very helpful and pleasant.
Booked a meal for 2 in the restaurant, got there and it was noisy, not at all relaxing and the food was expensive - poor menu
Table was booked for 5pm for the carvery for 8 people was told it finish’s at 5 didn’t have enough food out, ran out of meat and deserts has melted form not being refrigerated
We have been visiting Sunday lunch carvery for few years in this restaurant. It used to be more grand, now the same physical space is occupied by pub and the restaurant.
The starters selection used to be more generous with platters of salmon and cured meats, versus now a smile taster positions of salads with morcels of salmon.
Main carvery is slightly improved with large self closing dishes that keep side fishes: vegetables etc, hot and hygienic.
Although some if those tasted as if they have been cooked few days ago.
Ice cream machine was great in working order, kids loved it.
Value was good for us, during Sumner break for 1 paying adult 1 kid under 12 years old eats free.
Went for sunday carvery. This is buffet style and because it’s quiet, everything is kept warm and is dry as a boot.
Staff were too busy watching the women’s World Cup to clear tables.
Very poor quality of food, not much choice and poor value for money
I think the selection offered at the village bury was nicer and fresher
Nice staff, and good service at a reasonable price
Great Food and Good atmosphere. Good sports bar as well.
The staff were friendly and extremely helpful but the food was tasteless and bland. My family did not enjoy it.
I did recommended it when I first came a few weeks ago. But this time it was just not the same. The man serving the carvery was absolutely lovely, but apart from that I didn’t think it was great
It's a great social pub but I miss the dining experience when it was a restaurant
Went for a Sunday Carvey! Only now doing two meats instead of three food cold no hot desserts think they are cutting back /going down hill from once a busy restaurant to empty tables!
My wife and I dine regularly at the village Ashton moss but was very disappointed this time, lukewarm soup to start with, the starters I feel should be kept chilled which they aren’t, and the gravy for the main meal is always cold, not sure why they use coffee pots to keep the gravy warm, my wife then got a dessert which the custard was all curdled because it had been there too long.
Food was really dry and over cooked , not all all pleasant
