Food cold and atmosphere including clientele was rubbish. Would not recommend especially when they forgot to bring our deserts then brought the wrong one. Naff
The startes where better than the Sunday lunch.
The lunch was bland & the meat was like what you get from Asda in the packet & you only got 2 slices. It certainly wasn't value for money £40 for two with drinks. Wont be going there again.
Staff and place all lovely but was just let down on the food really the old Sunday menu was perfect wouldn’t mind the price increase but old menu lot better
Very relaxed and excellent service by staff. The food was prompt and we all enjoyed the experience.
The food wasn’t cooked very well, my rice was hard, and my husband steak was fatty
Amazing food amazing prices and staff were absolutely fantastic. We definitely wouldn't hesitate to come back here. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit amazing.
Food hot two meat carvery, disappointed with roasted potatoes as the were frozen and oven heated . Staff fantastic very helpful
Very busy. Too many people for space available. Sports broadcasting very intrusive. We had 2 courses from set menu as part of a deal. Same menu every day so we had to have same thing on second occasion as nothing else we liked. Waitress did not explain to us happy hour just offered us wine at £6 a glass when we could have had it for £3.25. Food OK .
Great waiter, very attentive and professional
I found the place different to many chains, and had some character, comfort and pleasant atmosphere. The food was good, in fact the fish in the fish & chips, was excellent. Sleep comfort was good too. Location, fairly quiet and away from things, but like the Silverlink Biodiversity Park opposite for an ealry morning stroll.
I’m already taking this up with Stephen Robinson manager as we had an awful Sunday lunch experience with non existent service and only scraps left for the food, highly disappointed.
Ok need a change of menu and not a fan of all tv screens whilst dining
Food was fantastic. Service was great. The place looks brilliant after the recent makeover. Our kids had a great time and so did we. It was the perfect place for a fathers day meal
Massive improvement, called by chance and returned with 3 days.
Village burger = 5star
Blue cheese burger = 5 star
Fish & chips = 5 star.
Love the sports suite with 95" plasma tv you can hire, love the bar set up.
And Wendy was so very welcoming, good laugh.
The village hotel for a stay if lovely and the food was nice however the Sunday lunch was not the best. The starters i.e tomato soup, prawn cocktail and other were lovely but the roast its self was very poor quality food and the gravy like water i would not return for a Sunday lunch.
Food and service good however noise levels on Saturday pm ridiculously loud..not conducive to dining more like club level. Terrible when wanting to dine in peace.
Lovely food however this was let down due to slow service.
Of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, good value for the price
Everything about Sunday lunch with my disabled mum was a disgrace
Food wasn’t the best. Payed for dinner, bed and breakfast would have been better off booking a restaurant somewhere else. The staff were nice but nachos and burger weren’t nice, left most of it. Bar was busy and noisy
We went for Easter Sunday lunch and as always it was amazing.we have been a few times now and never had a bad meal. We will be going back .
Excellent service great staff lovely food great selection.
Buca di Beppo no longer exists , yet bookings are still being taken!
Food was fabulous - lots of choice. Service we received was excellent, with individual waitress/waiter for each table. Our waitress could not be more helpful! We also received a lovely Mother's Day gift of vouchers to be used at the village hotel itself. Overall a very pleasant experience that we would recommend to friends and family and would definitely book again.
We were in the Inspiration lounge for Mother's Day. Buca di Beppo no longer exists! We had a coffee in Starbucks with my mam before lunch and the noise level was unacceptable due to renovations. I appreciate that work needs to be done, BUT on Mother's Day?? We were not warned about this, just had to put up with it, even though I complained and asked to see the Manager.
The Mother's Day meal was OK not brilliant. Not as good as last year :-(
We lost our dad just over a year ago and wanted to take our mam somewhere different and none of us had been before and I just wanted to say we all had a absolutely lovely day, staff were extremely friendly and helpful, food was gorgeous and such a good choice, a great day all round! We are thinking of using our vouchers to come to a theme night nearer Christmas!
This restaurant is NOT open and you should not be taking bookings for it .We were reseated in the Pub restaurant which had a different menu to what I was expecting
Restaurant was closed!
Ate in the pub which was disappointing.
Sadly we didn’t get to experience Buca di Beppo as it was closed for refurbishment, which we didn’t find out until we got there. However we did get a seat in the less busy area of the pub which was good as there was a match on and we didn’t want to enjoy our meal amongst the football fans. We both had the steak which was nice but quite pricey at £26!
1 of the pate starters came without the toast. 1 of the soup and rolls came without the butter. Food was average at best. The beef was extremely chewy and in fact we brought most of it home for the dog. Gravy was very thin and watery. And the Yorkshire puddings were frozen and not homemade. We were all very disappointed. Other tables were complaining about their soup being cold and in fact they had to send it back twice before it was edible. We definitely won't be back for Sunday lunch.
Awful food, weren’t told that the normal Sunday carvery was off. Still charged a lot of money for it. We will not go there again!
I booked the table days before arrival, only to be told on the day the restaurant was closed for refurbishment and we would be eating in the bar. This turned out to be an area at the side of the reception in full view of everyone coming and going. We had booked the table for 3 people, but they had only set a table for 2, then tried to pull up a 3rd chair to the tiny table. We placed our order at the bar then patiently waited 25 mins for a single starter before complaining, only to be told there had been a problem with the till...a very poor experience I’m afraid!
Awful from start to finish. Table in made up reception. Bar meal would have been better. Not a buco de peppy, just a made up menu. Falsely advertised
May have been a bad day, due to refurbish ment. However, on a Sunday lunch time to have people working in the same area, and be given a table in the reception right next to the main door was not good. People were frequently walking past looking at our meals. Food was so so, seemed to be frozen and heated up.
The Buca di Beppo restaurant was closed for refurbishment so we were directed to the bar tables across the hotel. No mention of this at the time of booking. A bit naughty, I think. The bar area was sparse and quite cold. Zero atmosphere and the carvery had been removed. It was now a choice from a set menu. The food was generally very good, although no mashed potato, and the roasties and the boiled new potatoes with skins were dry and quite hard. The carrots, cauli and cabbage were spot on though. As was the one Yorkshire pudding and the 2 slices of roast beef. The gravy was superb.
As was my chicken liver pate starter and cheesecake desert.
I booked to dine in Buca Di Beppl not the hotel pub.Was told on arrival that the restaurant was being renovated.I should of been told that when booking through Open table not when I arrived at the hotel. If I wanted pub grub I would of gone to a pub!!
there was no restaurant to be found, the hotel and the company are still taking bookings as if its open but its getting rebuild, instead they have set up a few tables in the hotels reception which was a really nice romantic set up for a meal for two on valentines day, also got my booking name wrong and the time, steak was far below par for a 30+ pound bit of meat, overall you single handed spoiled my first valentines day i got to spend with my girl friend in 6 years due to working away
We used a voucher that my son had won in raffle. Food was ok but bland and nothing special. The ice cream machine was a big hit though!
The waiting staff were exceptional-welcoming and helpful. I thought the plastic containers the starters were in a bit tacky, we had a BOGOF but definitely wouldn’t pay full price for this Sunday lunch.
Unfortunately the service let us down. Waited 50 minutes after being seated to be asked if we wanted a drink. Waited a long time for our food to arrive which was nice. But we were surrounded by customers who felt the same and were complaining to the poor waitress who I felt so sorry for. The waitress was looking after too many tables and although she was doing a great job didn't deserve the complaints thrown at her, especially from some Guru and his a wife who are on TV (Speakmans) and were sitting near us. They too were shocking at the way they spoke to the waiting staff, talking to them like crap and banging his hand on the table. You need to employ more staff as this young lady really didn't deserve this when she was just trying to do her job.
