Best burgers in Philly. And make sure to get an order of duck fat fries with it.
Could not speak higher of this place. The village burger was to die for, as were the short rib cheddar fries. Drinks superior and our server was incredibly attentive and made great suggestions. Will be coming back!!!
Great burgers! All around good experience. Wouldn’t mind a slightly better beer selection.
Very good burger - it is HUGE, though. I recommend ordering the fries with short rib to share, will have no regrets.
Our waiter appeared to be drunk slurring his words. Provided poor service as well.
Good and service were amazing!! Definitely coming back!
Great burgers and veggie burger and great fries.
The burger was disappointing. It had the shape and consistency of a hockey puck. Carmelized onions were wet and tasteless. The deviled eggs were good as was the sangria. I ate there a few years back and remember the burger was amazing, so I’m chalking this experience up to an off night.
Burgers were amazing. Definitely a more expensive place, but the quality is most certainly worth it!
Food is always good
Numerous mistakes on bar and food items, burgers arrived all cooked incorrectly, with at least one refire, drinks never came, no plates provided, just a giant mess!
Service was below expected. Half our order did not reach the table. Food was cold/warm at best.
Best Burgers around and great selection of whiskeys
Burger was overcooked for medium. Chicken entree was very dry
A quaint, neighborhood spot with great food and artisanal drinks. Cozy booths, ceiling-high beautiful bar and a short walk to lots of entertainment venues in Philly.
Great burger, the quality of meat was very high. The duck fat fries were very good. Small indoor space so you may be sitting very close to people if you care. Overall great place
Food and service were excellent. Drinks were ok, although the Old Fashioned was very good. Restaurant is on the small side, so it does feel cramped…
Great cocktails and amazing burgers! I'd definitely go back when in Phila again!
Best burger ever!
Good food, great drinks, brilliant service!
Had a great time with friends. Wonderful service
The staff was helpful and attentive. The manager made sure we felt welcome and cared for. The food was excellent. Excellent whiskey selection.
We loved everything!! Perfect for a small family gather - and a happy hour/early dinner on a Friday!! Summer burger was a hit as were the bourbon cocktails (Commodore, Old Fashioned)
All our drinks were tasty, fresh and delicious. Service and ambiance was great!
Not the best dining experience. Issues include:
1. Was initially shown a booth adjacent to the bathrooms. Eventually was shown to suitable table.
2.Appetizers and Main courses were brought out simultaneously as opposed to sequentially (and we were not informed of this in advance).
3. Wait staff was very inattentive.
Place is simple yet reliable. Quality food, attentive service in a relaxed atmosphere. Also, and this is important me, have quality bartenders. I can’t tell you how many places I have been where I order a whiskey sour and it’s garbage, this place serves a very good whiskey sour ( try it with egg white, take it up a notch).
Very friendly and accomodating staff but the food was a mixed bag. We had the steak frites and the frites were way oversalted while the garlic sauce was bland.
We dined at Village Whiskey on a Friday in June. This was our first visit post-pandemic and things have changed! They have remodeled and expanded the restaurant into a portion of the Tinto restaurant next door. So Village Whiskey is now about double the size it was previously. The food was as good as always. We had the deviled eggs and fried pickles as appetizers, and then the swordfish sandwich and the Village burger. All were very good. We were also there for happy hour so we took advantage of the drink specials. The service was prompt and friendly. Make no mistake, this is casual bar food, but it is done very well.
Cute place! Food was good and portion sizes were nice. Cocktail was also awesome. Had a great time and would like to return!
We’ve been here a few time. The menu is brief but nicely curated. I miss the wedge salad! But the burgers remain lovely. Service is always top notch.
Great for meat-eaters (obviously,) incredible bar, but for a vegetarian or even a pescatarian keeping meat-loving friends company there is very little on the menu. The veggie burger is a gloppy mess and it just feels like they could do better with it! And almost everything else has a little bacon thrown in. Please, Village Whiskey, we love you, but develop a better veggie burger and other veg options!
Brunch was excellent and the cocktails were delightful! We will definitely be going back!
Great burgers and fries! Also loved the fried pickles.
Much nicer now that the seating area has been expanded.
Service was excellent! Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The food and selection of Whiskey’s were :::: Chef’s Kiss:::: Great intimate atmosphere. I would suggest a visit to anyone.
Juicy flavorful burger. Duck fat fries were so crispy and soft at the same time.
Best burgers I’ve had in Philadelphia
Good and quick service with pretty decent food,
Burgers cooked to perfection.
The food was excellent but the restaurant’s acoustics are way too loud because there are no acoustic buffers. All surfaces are hard and reverberate noise.
The two restaurants could be joined together so there was more cohesiveness—I did not like the feeling we were in the second room, inaccessible to the original space.
Our waiters meant well, and will likely be excellent soon, but service was confused. No silverware of plates for appetizers, and it took a long time for drinks to be served.
My burger was phenomenal!
