Vine + Forge Restaurant & Lounge
I made a reservation for three and when I came with my party, I found out that Vine + Forge had been shut down for the day/night. They made no effort to communicate that they were closed when I had made the reservation. They just stated that they hoped to open back up the next day and didn’t seem to care that there was a mess up.
Isaac, our server/bartender was great. We visited for restaurant week so the menu options were a little different. I enjoyed my food and drink very much.
Nice hotel spot but pricey. We would come back if there were a happy hour--a bit too much for drinks otherwise. We did enjoy the charcuterie plate and would recommend it--it was enough for dinner for two--not sure it meets the suggested 4-8 as an appetizer (would be good for 4 and maybe 6). Service was very pleasant.
Our group of 5 was in Columbus for the Midwest Veterinary Conference this week. We ate dinner at Vine + Forge on Saturday, Feb 22nd. We were staying at the Lofts/ Crowne Plaza, so this restaurant was really convenient. We had a 7:30 dinner reservation, and were seated promptly. The food was good, and came from the kitchen in a timely manner. Sherrick, our server, was awesome! He was very attentive to our needs. Good job!
Thoroughly underwhelming on every front.
Really good food and drinks. The drinks are pricey but delicious!
Seated quickly for our reservation. However, from there everything was basically bad. No server EVER came to us, I finally got the attention of the young lady who sat us, she took our order and still NO server ever came to check on us. Had to ask the bartender for more drinks and for our check. Food was just ok. Terrible Vday experience.
Appetizers were fantastic, drinks were small for the cost. Entry to the restaurant is wide open and adjacent to the hotel entrance and since it is winter the constant traffic made it cold and breezy since we were seated right by the lobby. My steak was asked to be medium but came back very, very rare. Waitress took care of it, but overall mixed impressions mean we won’t be back.
Service was slow, but friendly. Lettuce wraps were great! Rest of the food was undercooked or lacked flavor.
Food was outstanding! The pricing was a little high, especially on the cocktails but overall a good place!
We were the only customers there at the time.
Our seats were in the middle of the hotel lobby when there were seats inside with nobody at them. It took 35 minutes from when we sat down to get our drinks. We had employees hovering around our table waiting for plates because they had run out of the fry baskets that was apart of restaurant week. When we asked for another beverage the waiter came back and said we are out sorry and walked away without asking if we would like something else. It was hard to get our waiters attention the entire night and meal was very subpar. Someone in our group had the lettuce wraps and was given a whole head of lettuce that didn't even look washed and was wilting. Wouldn't rec recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Our friends’ meals were not cooked properly, undercooked salmon on her salad and they had to re-heat his steak twice to get it to the medium way he ordered it. (Didn’t bring a newly cooked steak, re-heated twice.) My husband’s and mine meals were good. Service was very slow for getting water refills and the check at the end of the night. The waiter was very professional in his speech, like he had practiced replies/comments, but actual service lacked, like I said, steak had to be sent back twice and both bills were wrong. Cool, modern environment but we probably will not be returning.
Overall, a really good experience. Went for Restaurant Week. Great hostess, wait staff, and quick food. Portion sizes are a bit random, it seems - some of my friends got an entree that was 2x the size of the entree I ordered, but everything was delicious overall. Would definitely recommend.
Worth every penny for restaurant week
Service was awful. We ordered drinks right as we sat down and they didn’t come to the table until after our main course. They were watered down so it seemed like they were sitting at the bar for awhile. The food was average but not worth the wait. Very high chance we never go back
Everything was great. The portions were on the larger side, you get your money’s worth. Will definitely return.
Went with a group for restaurant week and the service was SOOOO slow. The starters and drinks were good, but you could tell the chicken and waffles sat under a heat lap way to long. The chicken was rubbery and the waffles weren’t soft. We had to take dessert to go because we were approaching three hours on our meters!
Service was excellent! Food was ok......pricey for what we got.
When we first walked in the front doors, we were confused about where to go to be seated. We could clearly see the dining area, but could not see a hostess stand. After walking around a large wall, we finally saw an empty stand. After standing around, awkwardly for a minute, we were greeted by a female hostess. She asked if we had reservations, which we did for 7:00pm for 4 people, (although reservations were not necessary as there were only 3 tables occupied). The hostess, after being unable to find our reservation and scrolling past my name multiple times, walked in and told us we could pick our own seats.
After being seated, the hostess had to repeatedly come back over because 1. She forgot a Restaurant Week menu for one of us 2. She forget to bring a drink menu 3. She forget what name my reservation was under. Although weird, it wasn’t a big deal.
Our waitress, Kari, was the best service of the entire night! She was cheerful, funny and prompt. She gave us time to review the drink menu and even brought out the head bartender to explain some of the different bourbon drinks they had to offer-What a great guy!
The food was delicious and came out in a timely manner. We had enough time to work on our appetizers before our main dishes arrived, everything tasted great! (Tequños app😍)
Our only ‘complaint’ was about a busboy, Emanuel, who gave our entire table a creepy vibe. He was at our table more than our waitress, often times for no good reason, and you could tell even our waitress was getting frustrated with him. At the end of our dinner, Emanuel walked over to our table and asked each of us our names individually and shook our hands. We all thought that was weird as he never introduced himself as a manager or anything. After shaking all of our hands, he proceeded to stand at our table and watch us put on our coats, standing in the direct way of the path to leave making us feel like we were being blocked in. We sped walked out SO fast all feeling weirded out.
My friend and I visited Vine +Forge for the first time on the Monday of restaurant week. We had a late reservation so it was not crowded at all. The restaurant is very much a hotel bar so there was no one to seat us. We wandered in and despite looking lost and making eye contact with numerous bartenders, no one said anything. We finally stopped and asked if we could sit anywhere. We sat for 10-15minutes each time we needed something with no one checking on us, even though we could see 3 servers, 2 bartenders, and what appeared to be the manager, and only 3 other small dining parties in the restaurant. The server was extremely sweet, just not attentive. When it came to the food, the trios of fries was the only big selling point. It was adorable plated and large in portion. Between the 2 of us we tried the chicken tacos (dry with only 1 topping), the chicken and waffles (waffles were hard but chicken was well cooked and flavored, albeit small), and the Apple cloud cake, which was actually a dry piece of angel food. The peach taco was the biggest let down. It was a greasy over friend shell that came out with its side ice cream already melted into a puddle. The drinks were good and the drink menu is very cute and interesting, but not worth anywhere near the $14 each that they charge. In all it was a huge disappointment. Plus it was so cold that everyone was putting their coats back on as they ate. At the end, my receipt was given to me with someone else’s credit card, which did not seem to be concerning to the possible manager, who was leaning against the bar on his cell phone when I notified him, as we once again could not find a server.
Service was very slow
So we tried Vine + Forge for 614 Restaurant Week and I was super excited to check out a new restaurant on the scene. When I arrived, I was the first out of my party of 6 and the hostess took me to the table (cool). However, she didn’t let me know that if I had my valet ticket I could get it stamped. I had to hear her mention that to the other couple she sat at the table next to me 5min later (bummer). When my guest arrived, it was super cold in there (that night it was 35 degrees outside) and it felt all of that inside of the restaurant (now granted the restaurant is inside of the hotel lobby so you think you would feel a small draft but not a lot). So due to the temperature it made for an uncomfortable evening. We all ordered off the 614 Restaurant Menu (that was the only one available) and while our reservation was at 6:30pm we ordered at about 7:15pm but our food didn’t arrive to the table until around 8:40pm. The waiter gave this canned apology saying the kitchen was backed up but there was all of 30 people in there. I just didn’t understand why it took so long if you were only serving the restaurant week items, they should be already prepped and ready to be cooked!
On a positive, the wine selection was amazing and the decor of the restaurant was beautiful. Would I be back for dinner, lunch, etc? Probably not but it was worth the try.
Incredible bar🥃🍷. Food is awesome
