The food was brilliant and the the girl who served us on Saturday night was brilliant, some of the best service I've seen
Had 2 meals there and the first was quite disappointed order the 10oz sirloin steak now the flavour was quite nice but a steak needs rested before it makes its way to the plate as it arrived with a lot of the resting juice on the plate and as a result when you pore over the accompanying sauce it doesn't look nice at all and affects the enjoyment of the meal as I don't want to see the oils and juices mixing with my sauce and the sauce was weak in flavour and texture peppercorn sauce with no per flavour at all very disappointed. The second night they had decided to change the menu as the new heads chef menu wasn't going down so well with some dishes. I opted for a simple steak burger thinking surely they can't go wrong with this overall the burger it self was tasty but the bin was twice the size of the burger there is just no need and for some reason it arrived with one piece of lettuce on top between the bun and burger and one piece underneath.... One saving grace for the restaurant was the buffet breakfast good selection and most of it cooked perfectly.... Overall average for what they are trying to produce there service slow and price wise bit expensive for what you get
Asked for a chicken and chips dinner as I don’t eat red meat. Then got brought the corned chicken which had pancetta all over it and fish!!!!!
Appalling gratitude for dietary requirements.
Still got charged £15 for the dish that I never ate as I couldn’t find a member of staff to fix the issue and My Boyfriend had finished his dinner by time the waitress came back over. So I had no dinner.
We waited 45 mins to have our order taken. Waitress was friendly & apologetic & clearly v stressed by the fact everyone was complaining. We saw 8 people send their food back .., ours was ok to be fair. Nothing special esp for the price £32 for a steak & my espresso martini was undrinkable. Such a shame as restaurant was well placed, nice view but don’t think we would return there
Lovely restaurant and was there for birthday and anniversary celebration. Portions were quite small and not much choice on market menu . Very expensive and the corn fed chicken wasn’t great .
We had dinner at 6:45pm. The food was nice, I had smoked turnip and my other half had the steak, we had soup to start, and ice cream after. Service was good and our food came very quickly. The waitress that served us was friendly and polite and made sure we enjoyed our food and had enough to drink. I was a bit put off by some of the negative reviews for this restaurant, but that wasn’t our experience at all. We both enjoyed it and would go back.
Very average food, very pleasant service but extremely loud bar servers throwing bottles into bins making the whole room shake, no soft furnishings to absorb noise. Very close to other diners and lacking any atmosphere but does have lovely views.
The food I had was lovely and cant complain bar in restaurant, bar tender very loud, with making cocktails and flinging bottles in trash can which was a bit off putting.
Service was appalling. We waited 45 minutes for toast. Very understaffed.
My hand cut chips were overcooked, my fish was soggy, service from both the bar and the restaraunt was slow, we asked for our table outside at the bar to be cleaned and the waitress used a dry napkin and only cleaned an obvious spill from a previous occupant.
Food was good .Beetroot Barley risotto was good . Steak was steak , bit pricey but was okay .
restaurant was understaffed , waited 40 mins for one drink. Had eaten our starters before a drink had been in put down to us. not good value for money
Service was faultless. The staff were incredibly welcoming & helpful. Great selection of food & drinks!
Not enough staff on drinks were a 15-20min wait per round
Very nice hotel and spa was lovely got massage really enjoyed them food was nice breakfast was dry though no beans with a Scottish breakfast! Overall would come back
Good food but a limited and pricey wine selection. Staff we very busy but brilliantly attentive and helpful.
Nice food beautifuly presented however lack of options for sides other than various chips. Very attentive staff
We had dinner and breakfast over the weekend which was not of the standard you’d expect from the restaurant. Food was less than average, service really poor as the place was under resourced plus many mistakes made when putting orders through on the new tables staff were using. The final invoice included drinks which were never ordered by us. This was rectified when I called the reception and pointed out errors. Monday service, food and overall experience was completely different, ten times better. A lot more experienced staff made sure things ran smoothly and everything was really great. Just wish we had the same experience over the weekend too.
The food and the views at Vista can’t be faulted!! However it’s very clear that they are very understaffed, in saying that the staff that are there are great but clearly rushed and stressed. Booked a table for 8:30pm and weren’t seated till about 9:15pm (with no complementary drink or discount offered). Severs Tim and Rachel were amazing though! Would stay at the gleddoch hotel again, wouldn’t dine at the vista restaurant again
The meal was lovely, good tasting food and lovely waitresses. However we went to the bar for drinks afterwards and the service was shocking. We waited in a queue for 35 minutes to even order a drink, all we wanted was vodka lemonades and they took forever forever, as I said all the waitresses were lovely and tried their best however the server behind the bar was extremely poor and spoilt a lot of people’s nights.
Place was dirty, staff had no interest, so wish I had taken a picture of the £10 biscuit and cheese if you didn’t laugh you would of cried
best cooked ribeye steak and the hand cut chips were fab. Portion of trout was just too big but otherwise a lovely dish
Vista restaurant was good.
Food has very good for evening dinner
Staff were very attentive but I feel they could do with having more people especially behind the bar as that side of the service was slow.
I would return
Food was really good, service from most staff was good bar one member of staff who was exceptionally rude and unhelpful. Very long wait at the bar for a drink, over 30 minutes. Asked for drinks menu to be told there wasn't one so ended up not getting a drink. Pretty poor.
The restaurant space was cold throughout dinner. Staff knew of our discomfort. Soup was cold. Meringue dessert was disappointing. Coffee was served prior to dessert without checking with us. Service made up for other disappointments.
Emily at reception was outstanding, couldn’t have been any more accommodating, excellent customer service! Girls in the restaurant and spa were extremely lovely and went above and beyond to ensure we were content. I would definitely recommend to anyone and look forward to booking again in the future.
Had a really nice time, although the room was very old and tired couldn't understand why the bathroom was refurbished and an old chipped door left on, the restaurant and dinner was nice, the big let down was the poor slow service, 4 times we were there, you eventually get shown to your table and left, not even offering a drink, i had to get up a few times to ask for things, the spa facilities were excellent although when we were looking for it, 3 members of staff couldn't tell us where it was and one sent us the wrong way , a the male attendant at the spa was very nice and helpful.
Not a good choice on menu very limited , struggled with what to have for dinner as selection is very poor
Excellent breakfast, super quick service.
Food was fantastic. Servers were lovely. Looking forward to another meal there tonight.
Staff are amazing. Great choice of wines and gorgeous cocktails. Food was served quickly and of good quality.
Food and service very good. Location very picturesque. Desert to die for, probably one of the tastiest and visually attractive we have had.
Would definitely recommend venue and intend to return.
Would of liked my steak to be cooked how I ordered it first time
My wife ended up eating her meal before I got my meal back
Very poor. Ordered the beef bavette and had to send it back, ordered it medium rare and it was the toughest cut of meat I've ever had. Chef proceeded to say yes that cut is tough but because its a shoulder cut thats why... a bavette is a flank therefore comes from the abdomen. Choose something else which was average, wouldn't go back.
Great vibe and relaxing. Food was lovely and nice market menu.
Nice restaurant, soup and dessert was lovely. Would go back
We had a lovely meal at The Gleddoch. Very clean, good safety measures in place. Food was outstanding, we are still thinking about the sea bass we had it was amazing! Despite not being able to have an alcoholic drink with our meal, we had a great time. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and food was fast. Special thanks to Beverley for being a great server!
The restaurant was a bit cold but great food & great service
Lovely restaurant and ambiance. Our waitress Beverley was so lovely and friendly. Super place!!! X
