This restaurant was the perfect date night idea for me and my husband. And I will definitely come back! The food is AMAZING and the service outstanding
Food delicious, servers very attentive. Will definitely return.
Total chaos. Got seated at a table in the dark, because the battery powered lamp died. They spent 15 minutes standing at our table to get the lights on. Which failed by the way. So darkness. At one point the hostess was standing over my shoulder with a flashlight. I asked her why, and she told me it was so I can read the menu. Our waitress said, she would be right over to take our drink order. 10 minutes later, a new waiter from the other side said she was swamped and took over. He got so close to my face I could smell his cologne. We ordered drinks and food right away. Chips with queso. About 30 minutes after that, with no food, we set a 10 minute timer that if it went off with no food, we would leave. We ate at Miller’s Ale House.
Service was atrocious. We waited close to 30 minutes before being told Two of the dshes we ordered were not available. We waited close to 90 minutes for the food to come.
Disappointing and tasteless were three of the dishes. The queso and chips were good but not remarkable.
I really wanted to like this place. But, food was just ok. Not bad. Not good. Pricey for what you got. And, if you are concerned about covid safety protocols, this is not the place to go. NONE of the bar tenders had masks. Waiters did but some wearing incorrectly. Management not wearing either. Little to no social distancing inside. All bar stools occupied with people standing three and four abreast behind the stools. Looked like a packed night club. Customers not wearing masks on arrival.
Really nice experience. The waiter just needs a little more seasoning, but thankfully a manager was able to come out to the table to do a lovely presentation of the food. Super attentive staff and the food was on point. Thank you for being the restaurant that this location deserves.
What a wonderful surprise, the food and drink were not only interesting and delicious but also a work of art. The staff was professional and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back for more
This place is stunning! It was very hot inside... also, not all servers had masks up which made us slightly uncomfortable due to covid. Wonderful menu BUT ridiculously over priced. We came during happy hour time and sat at the bar- no specials what so ever. Everyone was super friendly, our bartender didn’t give suggestions but a waitress stopped and told us about great drink options she’d tried. We left after one drink because of cost and lack of specials.
it was out first time and was a very good experience, good music great service and food spectacular
Best new restaurant to open and menu/food outstanding. Great addition to area and on the water
Always a pleasure to dine at Viva la Playa as the service is excellent.
Management is on top of everything and the food is incredible
We recently visited ViVa La Playa over the weekend, Thank god for the beautiful decor and our waitress Sam because if it was not for that we would have left /: We only ordered 2 appetizers And 2 drinks. The drinks are decent and beautiful but the size comparison to the price was ridiculous. The appetizers we had were bland with no flavor. I am Hispanic so I am used to flavorful food that’s very tasteful and the food was very disappointing. The decor, music, and people are amazing but the food and drinks are not worth it. Very disappointed. I hope it gets better with time.
Simply the BEST...
Labeau our server was outstanding
Food was Amazing
Atmosphere was very comfortable
Overall 5 stars
Expensive to start, they inexplicably add a fee for paying by credit card. Food shows promise but execution lacking by kitchen. I hope they can iron out their startup kinks and ditch the credit card fee. Drinks were great but pricey.
Most amazing authentic mole ever! I ordered the nopal appetizer and every bite was orgasmic!
Amazing food and great ambiance. I live in West Palm Beach and this is by far my favorite place locally. I’ve been there probably 5 times since it’s opened. Food is too good.
This new Latin fusion restaurant was a great experience. It's located on the Lake Worth Beach in former Mulligans. Newly renovated space that is modernly sleek. Wait staff was attentive. Food was amazing. Every meal was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
New Restaurant with eclectic menu, fun drinks and decor!
We tried the week old “viva la playa” and we loved everything we ordered! The waitress was a little overwhelmed but had some help from her team. Definetly recommend ordering some things to share, it was all so good and difficult to decide since we were seeing so many beautiful dishes going by! Will be back here soon to try more menu items.
The food was delicious and I would go back to continue tasting the menu. However the waitstaff was lacking in professionalism. Forgetting to put in part of a dinner order or having to be reminded of drinks that were ordered but never delivered was disappointing. It is a new restaurant so I know some things still need to be worked out.
My expectations were high!!! I was excited about the menu and crafters cocktails. Cocktails first I had the mole Manhattan, it was garnish with a cherry and pork rinds. The pork rind was stale and like styrofoam. For app we had the the Napol.. best thing in the menu, ceviche it tastes like boiled seafood with any acid or salt, the pork belly was ok. Dinner, my hubby had the steak he said it was ok and I had the Seared tuna, it was bland and I did it even know what the side was, it tasted dry flavorless. Dessert was the postor and the pastry cream was grainy and the cherry was not pitted. The expectations for a Latin restaurant is flavor, this place did not deliver. I made reservations for outside and was seated to the back of the restaurant. The cleaners were walking past us with huge garbage filled cans. There were tons of open seat in the front facing the ocean. The only reason I’m giving this place a 3 is because our sever KJ was AWESOME. I just had to add they also charge you the credit card service fee.. pay attention to your bill!!
The food was good. I like that it was not traditional Mexican style food. The atmosphere was nice and the view of the ocean was fabulous. The server was inexperienced and at one part of the meal, disappeared for a very long time. I hope they do some training to help their staff become better at their jobs.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very clean. The music was too loud, and the temperature was uncomfortably warm. The service was good, but slow. The table for six felt too crowded.
Amazing new venue to the neighborhood
There’s was a lot of running around but not to attend us as other tables got service first
Great food and our server was fantastic.
Food was good, waiter service was very good. We will be back.
Very polished for Lake Worth beach. Courteous , efficient servers , very tasty menu.
Not impressed. Staff was not trained well and not very attentive. Food was overpriced and small portions. Food was less than average. Margaritas were small and not impressive. The best part of the restaurant is the decor. Its very nicely decorated and the ambiance is nice. Its too bad. We were hoping for a new favorite restaurant in the area. Maybe its just a matter of them working out a lot of start up issues. Wish them luck!
I really really want to love this place. I was looking forward to it all day. We show up at our reservation time, host tells us they need to get our table ready. The dinning room was empty. We wait as she comes back a few minutes to tell us she is ready. The decor is beautiful. Server warmly greets us. I don’t see a cocktail menu, there is a tequila menu, but not cocktails. I ask her for a great margarita. She says house. I was hoping to try something fun & new. It was an average margarita for $11. The menu is confusing. I ask her for a recommendation. She says to get this meat platter, and a $7 “taco bar”. We also order empanadas. Flavor tasted great on everything, but the meat platter still had bones on everything, so to make tacos we had to cut up the meat, which was served on a lazy Susan. And kept moving and was messy. Also it was Small portions. We went to get more food on the way home. For $90 for tacos & margaritas I had higher expectations.
Everything was excellent! Fantastic food and service was wonderful. Can’t wait to go back!
It was 90 degrees and the place didn’t have AC - they didn’t do much about- they only one fan. The food was cold and undercooked, hamburger was good. Mezcal wasn’t served properly. The big and only positive is that all staff was extremely nice, but there were so many negatives that I wouldn’t consider going back
It was their soft opening so I didn’t expect much, however, not much was right about this place except the maitre’d Carlos and the atmosphere, sitting outside, across from the beach. My friend and I waited 1/2 hour to get 2 glasses of wine. When ordering, I asked our server if I can modify my entree. He never got back to me. We ordered appetizers specifically to come out before the entrees, but they brought both at the same time. I sent me entree back until I was finished my appetizer. When they brought my entree back, it must have been sitting out somewhere, as it was ice cold. My appetizer was the street corn which was the only outstanding thing all evening. You will need wipes after consuming this, which they didn’t bring till I asked. I think it was a napkin soaked in water.
When we were done eating, a girl brought 2 complimentary watermelon/ginger drinks to our table, placed one I front of my friend, and walked away with the other on her tray. I asked for a manager twice. When he finally arrived, I mentioned why the would give 1 complimentary drink for a party of 2. Did they really think that during the Covid pandemic that we would share 2 drink? He admitted that 1 was for another table. He has a lot to learn about hospitality. Clearly not an experienced manager.
They did remove my entree & 1 of the 2 glasses of wine that I ordered, but will not be returning to Viva La Playa ever again.
Soft opening, so hiccups to be expected. Great decor, but hot AF inside - glad we sat outside. Food was super, but too many waiters “learning the ropes” for a 4 star review. Certainly has potential for it as the kinks get worked out. Drinks are superb. No valet: park, pay, and walk. It will be interesting to see how this develops as a fine dining restaurant on the beach. 3 star with potential for 4 star as they gain experience.
