Good solid pub food, nothing fancy. On roast dinner the portion size was small for the price (only two small potatoes and two slices of meat). Sausage and mash was better size. Puddings were excellent though, especially Biscoff sundae. Staff rushed off their feet as it was Sunday, but were very sweet and helpful.

Went for lunch with friends, ordered the wraps off of the lunch menu only to be told they only do lunch Mon to Fri! No lunch on Saturday's? 🤷‍♀️ We didn't want a huge dinner at lunch time, so, ordered some chips. Took about 40 minutes to receive said chips, and they came out in tiny cereal bowls with about 10 lukewarm chips in it ☹

Booked a table -phone on the day to prebook food order.we arrived and did it receive food until nearly 50 minutes later after having to ask had we been forgotten about- food was ok but not really a filling Sunday lunch - my son ate half a pizza when we got home - I would not go again for Sunday lunch

Food was not acceptable. I had fish and chips , the fish was overcooked but the batter was soggy inside! My husband had the mixed grill with an extra egg instead of the gammon. He asked for the eggs to be cooked soft and runny. When he got his meal both eggs were on top of each other and they were broken and hard. We both had chips with our meals but they were covered in corse sea salt, at least a spoon full. Made them inedible. People should be allowed to season their own meals. Clearly a cook trying to be a chef but not succeeding. We left most of our meals, paid and left. Nobody asked how our meals were. We will not return unless they hire a proper chef who knows what they are doing.

The refurbishment and outside changes have been a success. The staff service was good. The menu was limited but adequate but the wait for food was unacceptable at 45 minutes for our table of 4. The quality of food was below expectation and included a meat pie that was almost inedible due to the hardness of the pastry crust. The value deal of the lunch menus are good, but overall our group agreed that a dining visit would not happen again, but as a drink only visit the atmosphere and quality would be ideal.

We ordered roast dinners, as previously were very good (a few months back) however, this visit the roast dinner was very disappointing. The veg was overcooked, only one tiny thumb nailed sized roast potato on the plate (we had to ask for more) and gravy had already been poured all over the plate, a side jug of gravy more would have been more acceptable.. We will not be rushing back anytime soon, however, the waitresses are lovely :), shame the food let the pub down

Had nothing from menu that contained chicken as sold out day before so menu was limited.Everyone was behind bar so kept having to go to bar to ask for drinks and if we can order food.Food came out and a fish and chips was missing it peas so we asked she said she will go and get them and never returned lol.Food was ok though just lacking in service,sorry won’t be returning

Ordered starter of chicken wings they came out after the main course just put on table and waitress said I don’t know why they didn’t come out, 3 extremely small wings over cooked and no seasoning very poor for £6.75. The roast chicken dinner 2 chicken thighs very poor value for money as is the duo of roasts I didn’t understand the logic behind this as you pay extra for it I was expecting a larger portion. Ordered sides of cauliflower cheese and pigs and blankets they didn’t come out asked waitress about them after our meal was finished as she vanished didn’t come back to check if food was ok, just got a “We ran out did no one tell you” as she was the only waitress working I found this strange. We were only offered one drink. The pork belly was black on top I like crispy crackling but! I spoke to the manager afterwards she apologised and said we need more staff. I’ve had 3 meals here previously all been slow to arrive but when they did they were 10/10 I did wonder has the old chef left as it just didn’t seem right. We had a table by the kitchen seemed like the chefs were having a great time in there maybe more concentration needed on the job at hand.

Staff member forgot to update on line booking system, although system gave me confirmation a table was available, so when we arrived we were informed they were fully booked they offered us to sit in main bar area which was ok although it did become busy

Lively atmosphere and although the restaurant was full the service was quick, precise and food arrived in good time. We’d been attracted by some photos of food previous customers had posted; we ordered the same and it looked exactly the same so appears they are consistent. Will definitely be returning and would recommend. Special mention to the waitresses who were efficient and charming.
