Great food, exceptional quality, fresh and authentic.
Only criticism was my friends starter took and absolute age to arrive. As we waited our starters got cold.
Otherwise the service was very good and the chef/owner took time to talk to use.
Highly recommend this if you like authentic food from India.
Amazing food and service
Everything about our visit was fabulous. The service, the drinks and the food exceeded our expectations. This is very much an authentic Indian restaurant and we will definitely be back soon.
Food okay, nothing to shout about and lacked a bit of oomph that you'd expect from an Indian.
Waiter wiped the table while we were still sat down, which is off-putting.
Amazing food- this is our third visit and it did not disappoint!
Food was delicious, lamb not as tender as we are used to hence 4 stars not 5 but overall, really enjoyed the meal and would recommend.
Interesting menu, and the best Indian food I have tasted in a long time. Very friendly service.
Really lovely food - flavourful but not overpowering, attentive staff, very clean restaurant. We will be back
Amazing post lockdown experience- the food is on point. Flavours are so unique and delicious. Probably our new favourite Indian.
Food was ok, service was slow and the food took a long time to come out. The starters were quite cold and they didn't have our reservation when we arrived, luckily it was very quiet. It was very expensive for what we had.
The place was lovely and the food and staff were 10/10.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was very authentic and the lamb chop starter was to die for!
Not the biggest of places and that will be why the drinks options aren't the biggest but the food is amazing! Its great indian food done to a high standard so compliments to the chef's involved at this place! Its a hidden gem tucked around the corner in Deansgate, definitely worth a visit, especially in the week when its much easier to find a table here.
Was meet by the chef and other staff and welcomed into the Resturant, Nice Touch! Then staff were very eager to help with suggestions of Resturant specials, which were very nice and then the chef. Came over and checked we were happy with our meal at the end as well again nice touch! In all a very nice experience and would definitely go again
The chef came to speak with us about the gluten free dishes, to offer his reassurances. The food was delicious and flavoursome, even the spicier dishes tasted of the ingredients and weren’t overwhelmed by the spice.
Nicest Jalfrezi EVER! Lovely food but a little slow on service and they struggled to understand me with my lisp.
Food was great; had to send a dish back as it appeared slightly undercooked but that was replaced quickly without issue.
Limited menu given it was Valentine’s Day - the full menu looks great, will visit again to sample it properly!
Our first time in Manchester and to this restaurant. Delicious food, good portion sizes. Service was attentive and the restaurant is lovely and clean. We could see into the kitchen which was interesting. Tables are quite close together but that didn't bother us too much. Would dine here again if back in Manchester.
I have been working in Manchester for the last 14 months. I have visited Wah ji Wah 6 times. It is without doubt the best Best Indian Cuisine I have eaten anywhere. I cannot recommend this place highly enough
Lovely restaurant with excellent food and advice and great service. Not too expensive either.
Delicious food, lovely ambience. We were celebrating my birthday and the food was top notch. Excellent service from courteous waiters.
What a great addition to the neighbourhood. We visited for the first time on Friday evening and loved that it was full and busy. The menu offers some interesting, delicious and non traditional choices, and within our group we all had different starters and different main courses. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their choices. The staff were all very friendly, however I think during busy times they could benefit from some additional help, we had to wait a little longer than you’d expect to order our drinks including water. It’s a small restaurant and you can see the kitchen, which I always like. You are able to see how well run it is. A nice touch was that the owner/chef popped out to speak to us and some other customers for feedback and a little chat. I hope this restaurant continues to be successful, I would definitely recommend eating here, I have already rebooked.
Wherever we go, we look for a curry house, and some of those in Manchester are becoming, IMHO, quite tired or complacent. However, this time we found a relatively new place called Wah Ji Wah. This has been open around 8 months, and is tucked down a side street, just off Deansgate (next to House of Fraser). It's only a small place from the front, but sits a reasonable number of people. The place looked great, fresh, romantic and relaxing. We were seated and asked what we wanted to drink, so we ordered champagne. The one we wanted wasn't in, so the manager offered us two half bottles of a slightly more expensive champagne, but at the same price! Starting well....
One thing I noticed, we weren't ritually harassed and made to feel rushed like in lots of Indians, so this was a refreshing change. We ordered popadoms which came in pieces in a bowl, with a tray containing a red pepper style sauce, mango chutney and also thick creamy yoghurt/raita. No greasiness here and the dips were great. We also noticed we didn't order our meal until towards the end of the poppadoms, so again, no rushing whatsoever!
We don't do starters as we don't eat a lot, so we went straight for the mains. I ordered a Lamb Rogan Josh and my wife ordered Lobster Pepper Fry. Lobster in an Indian! You don't often see that treat! We also ordered a Pilau rice and a garlic coriander naan.
Rice was gorgeous and not like the normal yellow stuff you usually get, and the naan was lovely and moist with plenty of garlic and herbs. For the mains, they were absolutely outstanding, and I don't say that lightly either! We like to think we know our curries, and these exceeded the expectations I had for. Plenty of lamb in the Rogan Josh, and all beautifully tender. Plenty of sauce too and the spiciness was pitched just right for that dish. The Lobster Pepper Fry was a little hotter but it never took anything from the incredible taste. Also plenty of meat in it too, with just the right amount of sauce.
Great to see Manish continuing to deliver excellent cuisine
Our 2nd visit, food and service amazing! I would recommend to anyone!
Went here during Christmas and new year, food is excellent. Try the lobster pepper pot, it’s superb.
Service was ok, could be better but don’t let that put you off, it may have just been that night. The food is the best Iv had.
Good food and great service!
The food was the best o tasted. The service was outstanding and the environment was personable and pristine.
Amazing food, literally the best curry I’ve ever had ! Brilliant service and atmosphere
Very friendly helpful service, good food and atmosphere
The most delicious and subtle Indian food- wonderful tastes and great value.
Birthday meal, did not disappoint, owner/chef came out to make sure everything was fine with our meal. Already booked for another evening with family
Very attentive and friendly staff
Good variety of dishes and great flavours
Would recommend a visit to this wonderful little Indian restaurant. Lovely food, good service and nice ambience. One of the better Indian restaurants I've eaten in.
Brillaint service, food was lovely, friendly staff. We will definitely be back!
Lamb Lazeez was incredible. Food was very good quality
Amazing second visit thank you !!!! Curries are the best! Great service a must try in Manchester!
Booked a table for 8.45. Got there and was told to come back in 15 mins. Did- no change. Our table still had people with drinks etc. Another group were waiting and delayed. We left, so whilst the food smelt good we had no idea what it was like. A shame.
The fact this is a new venue is apparent with the fact there was only 1 server for the entire, somewhat small and not too intimate dining space. The food was exemplary. Having travelled to India and eaten copious authentic cuisine this is truly the closest you’ll get in Manchester. Definitely recommended & will revisit although the service could have improved. They wrote a manual receipt in ink which wasn’t ideal. The prices are reasonable and the Curries & in particular the bread phenomenal !
Service and food outstanding. All cooked fresh and able to see them cooking
Lunch - lots of choice, spoilt for choice in fact. Food was delicious and presented well. Service was attentive but not overly so.
