Super friendly efficient service. Lovely fresh salads and good coffee.
We were impressed with the quality of the food. Seasonal ingredients well- prepared and tasty. We liked the setting and it was convenient for the theatre. The service was friendly and accurate. Would go there again.
Lovely food, could do with more range in the evening but we really enjoyed it and would go back
Very friendly staff but forgot the sparkling water we’d ordered.
The steak we ordered medium-rare arrived closer to well done but they changed it without a fuss and gave us a free glass of wine to say sorry.
The aubergine parmigiana and the risotto were very nice, as was the pistachio cake for pudding.
Really delicious food (crab risotto and truffle chips get a special mention), Bloody Mary was really super, great fun maitre d’, sleek Hoxtony design, loved it.
Relaxed atmosphere and delicious well sized potions. And tables far enough apart to not be bothered by noisy clients. Some dishes had run out early which is not ideal given the small menu.
All in all a good experience.
We had a lovely time at Walnut. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Lots of lovely tasting salads. I was a bit disappointed that my first choice (haddock chowder) had been eaten up by previous lunchtime customers but my second choice was delicious t.oo
Excellent service and well prepared fresh food. Really helpful in recommending wine. Most enjoyable.
The food was superbly cooked. A brilliant chef.
Perhaps a bit more expensive than other places in the neighbourhood but food is excellent and very generous - we didn't have room for dessert.
It's def worth trying if you live nearby - just a shame it wasn't a bit busier on a Saturday night.
Friendly service, option of sitting at the counter watching your food being made and an excellent varied menu. Decor on point, modern, clean and fresh as well as spacious. No hesitation in recommending other people to eat here.
Really disappointing, sadly. Food was actually ok, if rather overpriced and un-finessed (shouldn't need a spoon to eat a pie...?) but massively overshadowed by shoddy service. Be warned, on paper it looks like an ideal pre theatre for the excellent Park Theatre round the corner but it's too slow and the pre fixe menu on the website wasn't available (or was it, although the server seemed to say no, she inexplicably charged us for it afterwards though we only had 1 course!???). On looking closer at the menu, it's not good value anyway, so don't go through the pain of asking for it. All and all a depressing experience in an empty, if nice room - gutted as was a birthday treat and rare meal without our daughter :(
Good to be back at the Walnut Cafe - still good food and service, all at a reasonable price.
Fabulous new restaurant in Finsbury Park. My second visit in a month. The food is excellent and freshly cooked. Very friendly service. Paced perfectly. Support and pay a visit!
Excellent for a light meal when visiting the Park Theatre.
Great to have a good place to eat in this area - just round the corner from the Park Theatre. A warm welcome and excellent food & service, reasonably priced. We'll be back!
