The food was fine but the service very poor. Not a friendly atmosphere. Expect more from a resort hotel where I was paying over $500 a night for a room.
Can’t beat the bay view. Cocktails were spot on. White bass was so visually appealing and tasty that my wife made me switch to her lamb which I gladly enjoyed. Lemon crumble with gelato satisfied both our sweet cravings
Great atmosphere perfect for intimate gatherings and romantic dates loved the service very attentive never saw my glass empty. I feel the seafood selection to be in ok quality shrimp was delicious. And the desserts sooo good will definitely come back in the future. Thank you waterline!
Beautiful location for Sunday Brunch! Excellent service, good food (highly recommend the crab cake eggs benedict) and lovely atmosphere. The bottomless mimosas are a big plus too!
The ambiance is the best part of dining there. The filet mignon was excellent but expensive, my salad was OK.
Nieces 25th birthday.
A fantastic gourmet-dining experience and right on the water. Even for a weeknight the number of other diners was low, which is why I’m writing this review: Waterline appears to be rather an undiscovered gem.
Everything was amazing! Food, service, music!!! Can’t wait for our next visit.
Our server (Victoria) was very good, will definetly be back!
The waiter we had was a little rude, I know we all have bad days but do not bring it to work.
Best Breakfast I’ve had in a long time.
Everything is excellent from the service to food and drinks. Highly recommend
We stayed a bit late and was not offered dessert menu if there were any... otherwise overall service and food was good.
the Service was not very good, the waiter seem a bit lost and our food was just okay.
Daughters going away lunch
Crab benedict, bland crab and hollandaise sauce.
Absolutely delicious food paired with attentive service. Restaurant is tastefully decorated and quiet with a nice view of the harbor. One of my new favorite dining spots.
We ordered a beet salad and an octopus salad and were disappointed in the quality. Our server was overwhelmed with too many tables. The restaurant is beautiful but it was not a pleasant dinner.
The only downside to the meal was the seafood platter for $79.00
disappointing for the cost
Reserved a table outside and despite the fact that there were only 3 seated tables inside and 4 tables outside, we were told that no outside tables were available.
Ordered food... 1.5 hrs later meal FINALLY arrives because our ticket got “shuffled behind a larger party”
A waste of $300.
We had the most amazing time. The setting is fantastic being right on the harbor with the gorgeous boats.
It was shaded and we enjoyed the patio. The staff is wonderful. After we had a long lunch we moved over to the bar seating and Bobby just spoiled us with his humor and service. This is a special place where you have scenery, good food, great service and ability for conversation in a quieter setting.
Amazing and very special Sunday Brunch! Loved every details, the food was delicious, our server was very attentive and the view was beautiful!
Great service and food was excellent. Loved the cold bar buffet.
Beautiful spot for lunch! Great biz meeting spot!!
Excellent service and friendly staff.
We had a reservation, but had to wait. We were at the table almost 15 minutes before we got water. Not worth $53 pp, I would not go again
Beautiful restaurant. The ambiance fits the quality of the food. The ribery was large, flavorful and delicious. The scallops were melt in your mouth tender. Make sure you get the bread. They are mini loaves that are very tasty. Will definitely go back.
Great service-food was awesome! Took our three almost four year old and it was very comfortable.
Wonderful ambiance and service from our waiter James and Justin too. James respected that we were wanting time to get caught up with our friends and gave us space to talk before ordering. So refreshing not to be pressured to order right away. Our night was wonderful from start to finish! :-)
Everyone Enjoyed the dinner very much.
Victoria made sure we had a very special and memorable 4th of July lunch. Excellent service.
Beautiful setting. Delicious food. Marvelous service
The service was extremely slow and unfriendly. The food was okay but definitely have no intention of going back.
Took my husband here for Father’s Day. Wonderful brunch ! Wonderful view!
Only the best...that's what I found at the brunch I attended at the Waterline Restaurant. The food was fresh and well prepared. Servers were attentive and not once made us feel rushed. Wonderful brunch!
Waterline, as the name implies, sits right on the water in Newport Harbor. The dining room has plush booths facing the water, with tables next to the floor-to-ceiling windows. There is outdoor seating available. The decor is Newport Beach-y upscale, but casual. The food is very good, with assorted luncheon salads, grilled steak, hamburgers, and my favorite, the fresh local halibut "BLT". It features fresh grilled halibut atop thin tomato slices. The fish is topped by a toasted flatbread, chopped bacon crisps, with a wonderful dressing drizzled over all. The restaurant is quiet enough to carry on a conversation at a normal level. Dress for lunch is casual. Expect to pay about $25 per plate. A nice assortment of wines available by the glass. Recommended.
Beautiful view, very nice place and delicious food. Service was a little slow, but still good.
If I could, i would have given it 3.5 stars just because it is a beautiful restaurant inside an even more beautiful hotel. Gorgeous harbor view and the decore is nice, but very conservative (this is your grandparents restaurant). Service was the best part of the night. They were impeccable in their care, courteous, and very professional. Reminded me of Michelin starred French restaurants. Unfortunately, food was very disappointing. Dinner rolls looked like grocery bought and cold (below room temperature). Menu tries to be trendy, but it's about 5 years behind the times. $35 to $60 for main course, but not very well prepared. My white bass was thoughtlessly prepared without any flavor and my father's scallops were also very uninspired. I wouldn't mind coming back to stay at the hotel, but I wouldn't come back here again.
Delightful view and excellent service Waiters very patient with our birthday party even though we lingered long after the two pm closing time
