Food was ok but not worth the 1 hour wait for it to come.

We were seated right away, our server was hysterical and very attentive. There were 4 of us and everyone enjoyed their dinner. I would go again.
Server quit mid meal, all food including apps and meals came at the same time, they offered to put our meals back on the warmers. Food was gross and uneatable. The only positive was the beer was cold. Other than that this place needs a substantial overhaul in mgt and personnel before summer or it's going to fail miserably. I will never go back and it was a major embarrassment to us and our guests.
I had their highly recommended $45 NY Strip Steak. Not only was it tasteless, but it had a muscle tissue running through which made a good part of it inedible. One can do a lot better from a local butcher and a good gas grill.
We had a 5:30 reservation. Our meals came at 6:55. They gave us a complimentary dessert to make up for it. The bread and butter (that came out frozen) and my bread plate was still on the table when dessert came. May have been an “off night” for our waiter. Not likely to go back. We didn’t have drinks, we shared an appetizer, I had an appetizer for my dinner and they gave us dessert for being patient and the bill w/tip was over $100. It wasn’t a romantic Valentines Day for us.

Everything was perfect! Service was attentive and the food was delicious. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked steak in their beautiful main dining room. Afterwards, I went into the tavern section and enjoyed a cocktail while listening to live music. It was a perfect night!
Food was great, dining room a bit noisy even when some seats were open. Liked the remodeling, very comfortable.
What a great night we had watching the band The Itch . The more they perform the more we will be back !

This hidden gem was not only spectacular, but service was so good, we would go back for that alone! The waitress Joann started off with specials and suggestions that were spot on. The food was fantastic. The sommelier recommendations were dead on. I don’t know how we overlooked this place. Great experience and it will be our new go to.
It was nye so it was noisier than usual but this was the second time we were there in a week that our order was messed up. Very disappointed for the money we spent. It was a special occasion and we didn’t want to make a scene in front of our guests Unfortunately we won’t be back. The food is good but they need to get their act together.
Food and service were both excellent. We never felt rushed, even though it was a busy night. Although this restaurant is called a "Tavern" that is only part of the story, the "restaurant" section is separate from the "Tavern" and is the equal of most fine dining venues in the area. Waterman's Tavern is not inexpensive, but is worth the extra bit, for special occasions.
Our second visit, and it was wonderful on all levels. Just added it to our Favorite List!
Nice bar area--server was great, stick with bar food--burgers, sandwiches, salads, pizza, wings etc. Our food was OK (ordered steaks), served a little cold.
We had a wonderful experience. I’ve seen some of the reviews say that service is slow but I like to enjoy my meals and not be rushed out so I really enjoyed. We dined for resultant week and added a pasta course so 4 courses in total in about 90 minutes which i thought was appropriate. Pasta is fantastic, we also tried the duck which stood out as exceptional. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, very quiet and romantic. Would highly recommend.
We tried Waterman’s for the first time for Restaurant Week. The choices were great but we decided to go with the Wednesday prime rib special which included a salad and dessert. The meal was excellent, salad, prime rib, baked potato, steamed veggies and cheesecake or chocolate torte for dessert. The ambiance was beautiful and the service was excellent. We will dine here in the future!

Went for restaurant week. Though the menu and dishes sounded exciting, they did not live up to the promise. There was something a little off in the execution. Definitely room for improvement.
Went there on a Wednesday, it was Prime rib night special. It was a great meal including very good salad, excellent piece of prime rib with potato and veg, finished with desert. All included in special price. Before dinner cocktails were perfect along with the wine we ordered. Very upscale dining room with comfortable prompt service. We will be back.
Crab cake was unbelievable. Shrimp cocktail was bad even smelt bad and they didn’t take it off our check. Filet mignon was great but my husbands ribeye was not good at all. Espresso was great but cappuccino was watered down. Tasted like frothed milk. Service was very slow. We don’t want to be rushed but it took 2 1/2 hours fir dinner. Overall not worth the 400.00 dinner.
Thought I would try a new steakhouse. Steak was the only thing that was passable. Everything else was awful. Apps and sides were just gross. Ambience in the tavern was kind of depressing. I would not recommend this to anyone.
We have recommended it many times. Have not been there in a while due to family issues but what a great return.
The food was great, try the scallop special u won’t be disappointed.

There charcuterie plate appetizer is delicious and so generous! The meats and cheeses were top notch, served with some delicious olives and little round Italian crusty treats to go with it.
They are serving homemade sorbets, we tried the strawberry and lime...both excellent and refreshing. Of course the cookie in the pan needs no description other than awesome!!
Josette was our server and she is the best!! All of the wait staff was spot on. G.M. Rob and manager Reagan both ever vigilant and visible to make sure your dining experience is the best.
This is our favorite place to go and feel comfortable and have a good meal...it truly is a great neighborhood spot. A special place.
Reservation was at 7:45 did not take us until 8:20. Service was slow and food was under whelming. Tavern was well appointed but again service behind bar was slow.

I wanted to love it, but nothing was really THAT good. Salmon was fine, but the short ribs were dry. Octopus was tough. The service was good and the place is pretty. Looks like a beautiful bar. Hope it gets better. That is a big restaurant to fill.

6:30 on a Friday evening in the summer at the shore and this place was empty. The layout is a bit odd, there is a casual bar area (mostly empty) and a formal dining room behind frosted glass. We were promptly awaited on, we ordered 3 cocktails and glass of wine. All acceptable. Service is over the top for a restaurant located at the Jersey Shore. They brought everything out on carts that were very noisy (maybe because it wasn't crowded), when I say everything, they took away a side plate and fork on this cart. Unnecessary. It was awkward having that cart roll around all night. The owner came out who is very nice and said they are "testing" the waters with Italian - sounds like trouble to me. Stick to good fresh seafood, burgers and maybe tapas menu. Drop the carts.
Horrible experience. Food and drink was very slow, so slow my family wanted to leave after the appetizers. Staff is nice but doesn’t seem to be treated well. Manager Rob was one of worse at customer service I have ever encountered. We eat out 3 to 5 times a week and can say this is one of the worse overall dining experiences that we have ever had. Have had bad experiences before but good customer service skills with an apologetic and appreciative approach made it ok. Rob the manager who addressed our concerns needs training. Spent $ 160 for salad, apps and pizza. Put a damper on our night. Server was apologetic, felt bad for her. Will never go back.
You arrived at 7:30, drinks at 7:41, appetizers at 7:52 and your meal at 8:05, at 8:30 received your check. 1 hour to enjoy your drinks appetizers, meal and have conversation with your family. You came in with a negative attitude and wanted something for free. We make all of our meals to order and if you feel that 1 hour is too long then my suggestion is fast food. Shame on you for coming into our restaurant and treating a young server in the manner that you did.
