Always have a very good experience. Food is excellent and service is friendly.
Umpteenth visit to one of our "treat" eateries and already booked for 41 days time - not that I'm counting - as ever the food, wine, ambiance and team were faultless. We completely forgot about storm Dennis raging outside, instead the conversation revolved around the food, the wine and previous visits. Excellent restaurants are built on foundations of quality local ingredients and consistency, both of which you have in spades at Watson's. Add the imagination and flair of an obviously talented crew backstage and you have a real gem of a place. See you in 40.1/2 days! Nom, nom, nom.
It's the second time we've had a meal at Watson's and just like the first time everything was just as good. From the moment you walk in the staff are so friendly and attentive which gives you a great feeling of importance for your experience. Fantastic food with great service to match is very hard to find nowadays but Watson's have found the perfect ingredient for both...
Good food, friendly service, no complaints. Went for Early Bird so very good value. Both enjoyed our starters (goats cheese, blood pudding) and both had the special - sea bass with red onion bhadji and lemon rice - delicious!
We went for the early bird as my wife fancied the ox cheek. We thought portions would be reduced, but no hint of it. For £23.50 it was fantastic value. All three courses were excellent in taste and presentation. Our wine choice was a SA pinotage rose as I had chicken, and she had the cheek. A snip at £16 and excellent too. It was all served with ease, we were able to chat to the waitresses, no hurry, no stress. Just lovely. Thank you.
Excellent service, food and wine.
What more can you ask for!
Excellent quality food. Excellent service. Highly recommended. A must if staying in Conwy
Food was absolutely fabulous but my husband was given the fish dish when he ordered the ox cheek. The waitress gave him a look as if it was his fault and was not very pleasant. It made us feel quite uncomfortable. On bringing back his correct order she apologised "but with attitude".
Lovely food would recommend. Sensibly priced wine too!
Very warm welcome, cosy room and thankfully warm!some places to eat fall down on not heating the room enough.
Excellent food, great service, lovely restaurant, can wait for the next visit
Fabulous food complimented by excellent service.
Friendly staff and able to accommodate our parties request for short notice change to our booking.
Excellent food and services really enjoyed the food we will return
Wonderful food every time we go! A little hidden gem 😃
Excellent service and delicious food. We had a lovely evening.
Absolutely outstanding food, good portion sizes and the prices are so good based upon the standard of food and service. Will return next time we are in Conwy
Very warm welcome, very friendly staff. The food was lovely and would definitely go back again.
We were welcomed into the restaurant by a lovely, friendly lady, who showed us to our table. Service was really quick and efficient, and we all thought that the food was outstanding. It was my husband's birthday, and even though he didn't order a dessert, they brought a plate with ice cream and a chocolate "Happy Birthday" message on it which we thought was a lovely touch.
The bistro is small and inviting. The food and service was very good. The price of the food and drink was very resoneble I will be revisiting this bistro on my next trip to Conwy.
Fabulous food cooked to perfection very friendly staff
Excellent food and excellent service so we went twice
We eat here quite often and it’s always excellent. Nice and relaxed atmosphere with great food.
Wonderful small bistro. Food was flavorful . Menu was limited but very nice. Service exceptional. Don’t miss it
I only wished I lived in Conwy so I could visit more often. This place is a little gem we loved the ambience, staff and most of all the food it was beautiful.
I had a starter from the specials board followed by the dressed crab - couldn't fault. My partner said the same of his plus he also like the local beers available.I had a very reasonably priced bottle of white.
If I had to critique it was for something that was free and came as a surprise - the mango sorbet post starter was too sweet/like ice cream and more like a dessert than a palate cleanser. That said it was lovely and if I had it as a dessert (didn't have room unfortunately) this would have been perfect!).
We enjoyed Watsons but found it quite expensive. Having been looking forward to going for a long time we thought that other places we have been have better food at more reasonable prices.
But overall would recommend
Nice location and lovely restaurant
Nice choice of drinks , reasonably priced
Very nice food , wonderfully cooked
Nice friendly staff
Good prices and would definitely visit again
I booked Watson's as part of my fiance's 40th weekend celebrations. We were staying at the Quay but I wasnt aware of Ian Watson's connection there until the night of the meal. The whole experience was fantastic, booking online was a breeze and we loved how you are tucked away in one of Conwys little nooks. The menu offers a great seasonal choice and we both opted for the specials, we were not disappointed and loved our choices, lobster and crayfish followed by haddock for him and goats cheese fondant followed by lamb for me. Great wine menu also and service was exceptional. Highly highly recommended and we will be back
Lovely little bistro tucked away down a backstreet inside the walls of Conwy.
The portions aren’t big but the food is well prepared, very tasty and presented beautifully.
The staff are very attentive and dining here was a pleasurable experience. We went as a family two adults and two children of 9 & 10 all of us enjoyed our meals thoroughly.
I am not one for serial reviewing but sometimes you just have to tell a business how well it is doing its Job. Table for two on a Friday night, first course was tasty lobster was fresh ( I am a seafood junkie so know fresh when i taste it), the lamb was excellent as a main, the chips were divine. All in all a very pleasant experience. Watsons is not a pretentious place offering over priced grub. Its a family run, well organised bistro that serves up some very good food at a very good price. I never tip as a rule but I was so impressed i broke my own golden rule. Good meal, nice place, nice prices.
Best all round restaurant in the area. It doesn't matter what you order you can be confident it will be superb.
Food and service always excellent. Nice relaxed atmosphere.
Visit of my wife’s sister very relaxed
Fantastic as always. Watson’s deliver consistently good food, great service and great value for money. Highly recommended.
Love this place been many times delicious good quality food, not over priced lovely staff.
Lovely food and friendly staff, recommended!
Food and service excellent, good choice of dishes served in a relaxing atmosphere
Excellent meal enjoyed by the whole family. Friendly service. Child friendly.
Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, bit of a tight squeeze with some of the seating. I would definitely recommend to family and friends and will definitely visit again. Oxe cheek very popular and I could see why 😀
Three of us dined at Watson’s Bistro on Saturday 03/08/19 and it was equally as good as our visit last August. Friendly efficient service and nicely presented delicious food from an imaginative menu. So good was it that two of us dined again on Thursday 15/08/19 when once again we were not disappointed.
I cannot recommended this place enough. Booked a table for my partners birthday, after looking at great reviews.
We had the early bird menu 3 course for £23!! What a steal, amazing food. Every mouth full was a taste sensation. Best food we have eaten in a long time. Lovely little family run restaurant tucked away in back street, not to be missed. We will definitely be going back.
