Our focus is Farm to Table – our estate has a fully operational farm where we raise poultry, game birds, lambs, goats, pigs and rabbit. We have several sections of garden totalling 100 acres and multiple herb gardens. Located across the street from the restaurant you aren’t a mile away from where the proteins and produce we grown is located.
We are proud members of FeastON – Ontario culinary tourism – connecting foodies with restaurants showcasing Ontario produce, proteins and a focus on Farm to Table cuisine.
All the food we ordered was very tasty. We also had beer and wine, which were great as well. The pickerel dish was very good, but the portion was a little on the smaller side. The grilled fresh zucchini was the best I've ever tasted. Server was attentive and the ambiance was very relaxing.
Beautiful setting - we really enjoyed a very tasty Sunday brunch with our family overlooking the lake on a bright, sunny day!
Always incredible - the food, the view, the service. Highly recommend this wonderful spot.
The restaurant features a farm-to-table menu. Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff was very accommodating to our excited family. They suggested for us to explore the site while our food was being prepared. Within the property, they have a tasting room, a chocolatier, an outdoor tent, an expansive vineyard, and a small lookout towards the lake. Close to the property, there is a petting zoo, a store for local produce and ciders, and a pick-your-own blueberry farm.
Wonderful visit & meal with my adult daughter.
Unfortunately we didn’t expect so many families with children in a winery restaurant. Changes the atmosphere.
Lovely place overlooking the water. Sat on patio on a weekday so not busy. Then walked around. Looks like a great place to host a party as they had a tent, bar etc outside. Not a lot of walking from parking to restaurant to water which is good if you can’t walk a whole lot.
Service was great , food was mostly great except the kitchen made my stEak well done instead of medium rare . I was too hungry to take it back so ate half of it and they only took 6 dollars offf ? Anyways everything else was good . Just hit or miss with the dishes .
I would recommend only because of the location .
Food portions were small and did not rate a 10. Just a 4.
Fish and chips was good. The Green Curry was crap: under seasoned, rice was overcooked, green peppers we're to large, chicken still had the skin on it. Told the waitress but I doubt she told the kitchen
The food was not good. Tough, dried out ribs. Fat throughout the ribs. Pork and beans with hard chunks of pork that are not good for anyone to eat. Last time they had fries with it, but not this time. For the price that was supposed to be a special, the cost was way too high for what we got. They sat an entire group of young kids at a birthday party, beside us. The noise was unbearable. They could have sat people differently to not have the kids in with the other customers. Terrible sewer smell walking to the restaurant and terrible sewer smell in the washroom in the winery, that is always there and not pleasant.
The ambience at Waupoos counts for a lot -- the scenery is unmatched and the location in the middle of vineyards gives it a certain -- and very desirable -- flavour. Since we last visited the restaurant has added a terrace with the same menu as indoors. It was a hot day but the breeze from the lake kept us very comfortable, snd there were thankfully no bugs. Comfortable also describes the food -- very good fish and chips and a nice hamburger for us.
We had a wonderful meal, the smoked Salmon appetizer was delicious. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the wine. The atmosphere is very open and bright. We enjoyed a stroll around the property after our dinner. I would recommend this restaurant and will probably return on our next visit to Prince Edward County.
Had a great meal on the patio overlooking the lake and vineyards. It was lovely!
Service, presentation and food just mediocre. Great location, wine was fine but unlikely to return
We got there early and they accommodated us. Very happy.
Great service and great food in a glassed restaurant set among a vineyard overlooking the water.
We will be back for sure
Friendly attentive service, locally sourced food well served and lovely ambiente. My husband had the duck and I had the pasta. Both were excellent. It is a short walk of 2.4k from the Waupoos Marina which is great to stretch a sailors legs.
The ambiance of the restaurant is great. The menu and food options not so much. The dishes ordered were alright but nothing spectacular for the price charged I expected a lot better food at a vineyard restaurant that looks to be up and coming. The portions were too large and the protein wasn’t cooked in a good way. Perhaps a new chef can improve the experience.
The only negative point is the menu. Not a lot to choose from and some choices were not available. So it gets restrictade in terms of variety. Too bad, because the taste of food, was really good!
I have been eating at the Restaurant at Wapoos winery for a very long time and with pregnant anticipation for each visit. I have sent many of my friends and family there. My prior experiences were stellar.
My last visit was disappointed. Food, drinks, ambiance, service was way below the standard and the quality of service that I have grown to enjoy.
I might have to look for another place.
We really enjoyed our lunch at Waupoos. I had contacted them to let the chef know we were vegan, just to be sure they could adapt something for us. Instead, they made a special dish with zucchini fritters, roasted potatoes, red Swiss chard, and a mustardy sauce. It was delicious. This was our first visit and we will be back!
Beautiful location just my wife and myself our waitress was very helpful we went Friday 7pm vey romantic food was excellent will go again
Overall amazing experience. The weather was perfect and we began our evening with a glass of wine while walking through the gardens. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We did not enjoy this experience at all. There was zero ambiance here, even on a Friday night. Our Baked Brie appetizer consisted of 3 slices of Brie served barely above room temperature. Basic burgers with frozen fries. Waitress was decent which is why we gave service 3 stars, although the hostess who greeted us said they were running low in clean glasses and water(?) when she seated us. Despite there being empty table everywhere fully set. We would never go back here despite the beautiful grounds. Too many other wonderful places to eat in The County.
Belle vue et localisation, bonne carte des vins et menu! Nous avons passé une agréable soirée. Il ne restait plus de certains vins présente au menu, ce qui nous a un peu déçu pour un vignoble.
I was excited to come back to Waupoos for dinner with my friends expecting the same experience in 2018 summer but was sorely disappointed. The main menu posted online is rather rather poor but was expecting to be wowed with the Butcher's Choice - Farm to table nightly special but was sadly disappointing as well. We felt bad that we had to walk out and probably will not go back there with so many other great restaurants in the area. At our last visit the restaurant was packed and buzzing, this visit was quite the opposite.
The food was amazing and the staff was friendly - also in an amazing location right off the water
I would recommend visiting Waupoos for the venue itself, not necessarily to eat at the restaurant. For sure do a wine tasting, though!
Really enjoyed the resturant setting. Very pretty and relaxed. The wait staff and food was excellent.
This restaurant was outstanding. So much so that we went there 2 nights in a row. Every table has a great view and it is very quiet with a lot of space around the tables. The chef is 5 star and the staff is attentive and professional. If you want a quiet spot with a beautiful view and fantastic food this is the place to go!
Fresh food with a great view of the lake.
Beautiful restaurant. Fresh seasonal menu. We came with a group of 7 for a celebration and we were well taken care of.
As returning customers for the Mother’s Day brunch, we were excited because last years brunch was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere was so light and fun, the buffet was to die for and the selection was amazing. This year , the place was quiet and cold & the environment was dull. We looked at the menu that was posted on social media the Wednesday before mother’s day to make sure we knew what we wanted ahead of time, to our surprise when we showed up, the menu had changed and was no longer the same as what was previewed. The onion and mushroom soup my mom had was great but, the eggs Benedict that we both had was very underwhelming. Poached pickerel for her and pulled pork for me, personally we did not like the fish or pork with the eggs benny. When served it was cold, we had it heated up and it was still just over cold. We look forward to our time at Waupoos and this year was definitely a little underwhelming, she even suggested we go elsewhere next year. I still visit frequently so I hope your next years brunch is much more of a success and we can try again another year.
The food and atmosphere was amazing! The server could have been better prepared to recommend a wine pairing for each entree as it is a winery. Also the servers were dressed more casually than I anticipated. Overall a very great experience
We wanted a restaurant with great food and beautiful natural scenery for my birthday and thats exactly what we got at Waupoos. will recommend to anyone in a heartbeat. The pickerel was incredible, fresh and delicious. My wife got the pork chop with sweet potato ravioli which was also delicious!
Having never been either to the restaurant or the winery, we were struck by the beauty of the estate and the view of the lake. The restaurant building is round and every table has terrific views of the vineyards. The ambience is spacious and airy featuring local art. We decided to take advantage of the Countylicious promotion, a three course meal from a fixed menu during the month of April. A wonderful offering of local meats, poultry, cheeses and fruit combined for an excellent three course meal that we savored with flights of Waupoos wines. The service was unrushed and attentive, and our server was very knowledgeable about the wines and course offerings. One tip I would give--order a red and a white wine flight and work through them slowly. Each wine took some time to open up and changed dramatically over the course of the meal. I definitely will be back!
Recommend food only. Service was great. Red wine is not great. Sparking was very nice but had one bottle available
