   The new restaurant had an empty feel about it( a bit like a school hall) Maybe they need a few more painting/pictures on the walls. The food wasn’t up to the usual quality. I found the gravy a bit watery and tasteless. I know the place has just been refurbished so maybe it’ll settle down . Service was good as usual.

   Wear Park Restaurant has just re-opened and we were keen to try it out as we frequently visited in the past as the food was excellent and good value. Sadly the food was not as good as we have enjoyed previously. . We both had monkfish tail with fine beans,rainbow chard,roasted heritage carrot and gremolata sauce (£18] -the fish was excellent and well cooked, however, the beans were beyond a dente and were just uncooked, the gremolata just got stuck in one’s teeth and the heritage carrot was tough. Dessert was warmed chocolate brownie with ice cream and was well cooked and enjoyable. Waiting staff were friendly and welcoming and we could not fault them, but the food was disappointing. I look forward to reading better views before we decide to return.

    We just enjoy the ambience of this place, the fact that it seems a bit special with the white tablecloths, napkins, service and chandeliers. Lovely to go somewhere which isn't just ordinary. Service was good and the food was better than we had expected. Understand the whole place is going to be refurbished so really hoping it's not at the expense of making it better than so many other places. We need places which feel as a treat to go out to.

    We had lunches, afternoon teas and a Thai themed dinner here in the past. Loved the setting, the food and most importantly the service. Friendly knowledgeable and happy staff have made each of our visit memorable. Yesterday a particular mention to Emma. She was super sweet, recognized us from the Thai dinner and recommended us to try out the breakfast at the sports bar downstairs. Can’t wait to be back! Cindy He and David Barrett

    As usual food/service was great. Unfortunately a large party payed no attention to keeping safe. Walking round taking photos and generally being a pain to others.

    The Golf Club Steak Night was excellent. Good menu, with a good choice for all three courses. Steaks (3) perfectly cooked . The three of us had different requests - rare, medium, and medium to well done. The house wine (red) just right. Staff very welcoming and on the ball. Clearly a very popular event because all tables were taken, including some large parties. The noise level was very acceptable.

    Food very good - surprisingly good actually Service earnest and attentive Atmosphere was a bit flat but fine Ambience - room was too light and not very intimate. Some subtle lighting might be useful Decor is very traditional and dated Needs updating I feel However that being said we enjoyed the meal but did not want to linger as it was all a but clinical which is a shame as the food was very good

    As long termmembers of the Exeter Golf and Country Club, we try to support the Club’s activities as much as we can and eat there regularly, usually after a swim.     My friend and I visited for a Festive Tea, the food was beautifully presented on a cake stand. There was a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes plus scones, cream and jam. Everything was delicious and there was plenty for the two of us. We had tea to drink and this was replenished plus there was plenty of hot water to top up too. It was very good value for money, I would definitely recommend and would visit again.

    As always the food, service and atmosphere was excellent. Although it was a festive menu there was still enough choice to cater for all the tastes in our group. The room is both impressive but friendly with a lovely Christmas ambiance. We find noisy restaurants difficult but as always there was just a pleasant buzz. We were served by a new member of staff but the training she had received was clear to see and she performed her duties to a high level. As a family we are very cautious about going out in the present climate of covid-issues but we always feel very safe eating at the restaurant.

    Had an amazing time for my husband’s birthday at the venue, enjoyed an afternoon tea, festive style with mince pies and mini Christmas pudding! Turkey and stuffing finger sandwiches which were delicious! Staff very attentive, beautiful setting and festive atmosphere. Would highly recommend, excellent value for money!

    Our fizzy cream tea was so lovely. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Beautiful house in landscaped gardens. Looking forward to going again some time.
