My partner and I went to Weir Grove for our anniversary and had an absolutely fantastic time. Great service, very n
The food was good, but we were surprised to have booked on a Tapas only evening. There wasn't mention of this on the website (or we missed it). We were also unlucky in that they had not had scheduled deliveries, so we're short on most drinks. Finally, although the food was good, the tapas portions were very small.
Swedish angle to a good menu. Starters were good but a little expensive for what they were. Mains were the best course of the evening. My venison was exceptional. Desert was the weakest dishes of the evening. Small but well chosen wine list, though again a little pricey. Service was engaging and the room comfortable. Overall a recommendation and difficult to beat anywhere in Wargrave, Henley or Twyford.
Lovely birthday meal. Tapas and cocktails were lovely. All the staff were exceptional, as always.
Fabulous Sunday lunch. When eating out, I go for quality, my sons tend to go for quantity and my husband likes to get good value! Weir Grove exceeded all of our expectations on every level, and the in-laws who we took with us loved it too. On top of that, the restaurant went over and above to cater for our special dietary requirements (dairy free). Well done to Weir Grove and thank you for a wonderful meal.
Delicious food, amazing personable table service, and great value.
Its nice to go to a restaurant that has something different to offer, every item on the menu was a little gem, we all had something different and we were all blown away. Exceptionally well cooked and genuinely friendly service. The best meal, I myself, and the rest of my party have had in years.
Very enjoyable tapas evening. Very good selection of tapas available.
Outstanding as always - you must try the Wednesday 'tapas' and cocktail night!
Very relaxed, fantastic value for very high quality cooking, really enjoyed it.
By far my favourite restaurant in the the area (even though Henley has so much choice). Their passion, expertise and individuality is always a delight of the senses.
Small but good menu, very well presented food and very tasty. Excellent service and knowledgeable host. Not a rush back to sort of place but will go again.
Excellent food and attentive light touch service. Looking forward to going back.
We have eaten here previously in the evening on the À La Carte menu and each time is has been excellent. Great service and nice well cooked food. The set Sunday lunch was also excellent, a nice cold starter with pancetta, a traditional main course of lamb, beautifully cooked and a little pink as it should be, and a pudding of chocolate brownie. Once again great service, we will go again.
Perfectly lovely, again. It is simply everything that I believe a restaurant should be from front of house to back; good service, good food, balanced menu, nice wine, lovely cocktails, and all delivered with a professional attention to detail sadly lacking in many establishments at similar or higher price points as can be found in the area.
A real pleasure - great food, friendly service - a real find
Outstanding food. Great value! We had chicken - succulent and dark chocolate with custard was just right, not too sweet.
Brilliant. Would come back to try their roast beef!
Excellent evening as always. Great food (Tapas) not like you think Tapas should be. Wonderful tastes in every dish.
All the food freshly cooked ,menu small but contains something for every taste
Great value & good service . Strange choice to serve very good pork crackling with a rather limp salad with small pieces of cheese as a small starter possibly more enjoyable with the main pork roast 🤔 excellent mustard stock sauce with the meal and no problem when asking for extra . All in all a great value meal with stacks of well cooked vegetables and more if wanted only let down by rather leathery & disappointing roasties ☹️ Great value house B bros & Rudd claret & Pinot Grigio both very drinkable . Enjoyed the visit and a very reasonable bill for 7 happy guests .
Love Weir Grove, perfect for a lovely and relaxed Sunday lunch.
Lovely food. Brilliant Maitre Dee 😂😂
Great fun gentleman serving us, great knowledge and sense of humour
The best Sunday roast I’ve had in a long time - simply perfect.
We love the Weirgrove. Wednesday night is a particular favourite where they serve amazing small dishes. Karin is a fantastic chef and cooks with skill, love and innovation. Karl is a perfect host and incredibly knowledgeable about the great wine list. The a la carte menu Fridays and Saturdays is also brilliant and we are yet to try the Thursday tasting menu. We are so lucky to have this restaurant in Wargrave, everyone should go!
An excellent Sunday Lunch very reasonably priced and nothing was to much trouble. A very enjoyable experience
One of the best roast dinners we have had. This place never fails to impress.
Great food with an engaging and very personable host and server who is attentive without being overbearing. Had the private booth at one end of the dining room which made for a lovely experience. Food slightly different from the norm which is part of the charm of the experience. Great tastes and value, what more could you ask for?
I have been meaning to try Weir Grove for ages and I'm very glad I got around to it. Staff very attentive and polite and the food was delicious. Will be going back for sure.
Great friendly service, really made to feel welcome. Great food, with some unusual choices. Could taste all the different flavours.
When we arrived there was food all over the chair and the water jug was filthy so I was concerned. However the food was lovely. The meat melted in your mouth and there was plenty of potatoes and veg. I took my Mum and Dad who really enjoyed the fact that you did not have to make any choices. The place was nearly full but the noise level was just right. I would go again as the owner was lovely.
Lovely small restaurant with only a dozen tables, was only one server and thought it may be an issue but actually not at all, was looked after all evening.
Food was great, probably worth checking the menu as it's a relatively limited selection but we had great food, wine and service. Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit.
Lovely meal at Weir Grove on a Friday evening. Run by a husband and wife team, the food is excellent along with very friendly service. Will return to try Sunday lunch.
Fantastic food and service at this wonderful restaurant. We will definitely be back to sample some more original recipes from the seasonal menu. We just wish we had discovered it sooner!
We love it at the Weir Grove and every time we come we enjoy the food. Our latest visit last Wednesday was no exception. Karin produced a splendid array of Tapas making it hard to choose!
Karl looked after us splendidly as always.
Look forward to the next time!
Excellent Meal. I would definitely recommend it to others...and have done!
Excellent Sunday lunch, will definitely return and try a weekday as well.
Very nice experience. Liked simplicity of Sunday lunch menu and no choice. Food very good and plenty of it. Chef visited our table and spoke to us twice - genuinely cared about amour experience.
Excellent three course Sunday Lunch with generous portions of delicious home cooked food. They were a member of staff down on the day and coped admirably and the service was actually very good. If I have one minor piece of feedback it is that White wine is best served chilled (which it was) so a wine cooler to keep it chilled would be a welcome addition next time...and I suspect that we will be back! :)
We enjoyed a great meal here. Friendly independent restaurant. How nice to have something a little different to choose from with Swedish influenced dishes. Service was very good. Portion sizes were very generous to. It was a good to see a lot of their drink and food was supporting local producers. All in all we had a lovely meal and evening at Weir Grove and would definitely visit again
