Wonderful food and excellent service. View from 17th floor is amazing.
Amazing food and service i will be going back there
The view and vibe was very much appreciated, as was the “lounge/conversational” aspect. It was very quiet which was nice to be able to converse, but the music was still audible.
The food was good. I’ve had better and worse, and there frankly wasn’t a lot to say about it. Seafood Mac & Cheese was good, as were the truffle fries. I had the Ribeye which was cooked to my liking and tasted pretty solid, but the mashed potatoes that came with it were not. My girlfriend got the ravioli which was also good, but not knock-your-socks off. The Apple Pie dessert was our favorite part.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience as I wasn’t looking for the greatest food, and more-so the overall vibe.
I would probably visit again!
One of the Best View restaurants in Los Angeles, 17th floor looking toward the Pacific Ocean. Small menu, but excellent and there's something for everyone! Great Bar and wine selection. Moderately priced!
Very underwhelming, forgettable meal.
Went for my birthday dinner. Romantic, great ambiance, private seating, great views. Highly recommend The pork chops main course, seafood Mac n cheese starter. And Henny Peach Margaritas 🍹
Very accommodating to our needs. Friendly staff that made sure our needs where met was the food. I even had some changes on my food that they gave me no questions ask.
All around a wonderful experience. The service was great! The food was fantastic.
Beautiful view. Good was very good. The best was the steak &lobster combo. We also ordered seafood max &cheese and it was really good as well as the bbq chicken skewer. The rib eye steak was a bit hard but good flavor. The bar was ok but did not have all the drinks we wanted. They gave us a small chocolate cake w/ ice-cream that was excellent since we were there to celebrate a birthday.
This was our third time here and we had another very enjoyable meal. There's something to be said about enjoying cocktails, wine, and great food while watching the bumper to bumper traffic on the 405. The view definitely can't be beat, the cocktail and wine menu are extensive, and the food is very good, with generous portions for the price. I highly recommend the ribeye, porkchop, and tempura shrimp appetizer. Cocktails were well done and definitely not watered down.
It was interesting to see the dichotomy of extremely casually dressed young people (tank tops, shorts, flip flops...) and more formally dressed older people (like ourselves). I suppose many of the hotel patrons don't want to dress up for dinner these days. Who are we to judge?
All in all, a great experience and I highly recommend this restaurant. Our server Natalie was fantastic.
I was referred here by a good friend. I took a date last night and she loved everything about it.
Jessica was excellent. Loved the atmosphere
Everything about our brunch was incredible. The food! The view! Outstanding all around!
Everything about West was good except for the entree of my dining partner and me, and unfortunately we both had the same thing. The ambiance and views are beautiful, the service was attentive, the restaurant and hotel have a no-tipping policy so the value is there. We had an appetizer of tempura shrimp on coconut rice that was excellent, but then we both ordered the pork chop. The portion sizes are generous - overly so in my opinion, the size that kills your appetite. The pork chop itself was incredibly tough/dry - both of us only took a few bites. It was accompanied by mashed sweet potatoes, which had tons of sugar in them - tasted like something that should have been served at a Boston Market.
The food was pretty average. Our server was nice but slow. Our drinks took forever and we were the first and only people there. The view is pretty though
First time visiting this restaurant and it was awesome. The food was great and the apple pie dessert was even better! Perfect for a cute date night, would definitely recommend when visiting LA
They ruined my date …
They gave us a table next to the bar even if a requested nice view for my girl.
Server was kinda rude the whole Process of the dinner .
Food was very poor quality , charge a lot for that type of food.
Definitely not going back or recommend to anyone …
View not all that. Asked for window seat for birthday and did not get it. Food was horrible. Better off going to the Penthouse
Good food and nice ambiance. Had a pleasant experience.
Hotel Angeleno and their restaurant West are "Tip Free" establishments, and I appreciate they take care of their staff. I thought if there was no tip to be earned, maybe service could be off -- but not in the least! Lovely people, friendly and knowledgeable. Food was prepared perfectly, I'd go back. Special shout-out to their cocktail creations! These are thoughtful and innovative mixes. PS: We tipped anyway, there's something special about tipping purely as a thank-you.
My son and I stayed at Hotel Angeleno on July 4, 2021. I made a reservation for West Restaurant for 8:00PM. As soon as the clock hit 5:00, my son was ready to eat. The host was kind and friendly. When I told him we had a reservation but we were 2& 1/2 hours early, he said it was no problem and seated us right away. I ordered the Brentwood Salad, which was a delicious combination of fruits and vegetables, topped off with their yummy Champagne Vinaigrette dressing. It was one of the best salads I've had in a long time. For my main entree I chose the Cajun Salmon. When I asked to exchange the side dishes for other selections from the menu, the waitress said absolutely. It was great to have such immediate flexibility without having to wait for her to go ask the chef. My salmon and the side dishes were all very delicious. My son ordered a burger and fries. He enjoyed it immensely. He also loved the scoop of vanilla ice cream he had for dessert, as did I the cup of decaf coffee I had after my meal. The hotel has a no tip policy, which made it easier when the bill came- easier because there was no calculation involved and easier on the pocket book. Thank you to the staff and management of Hotel Angeleno and West Restaurant for a wonderful stay, great service, and delicious food!
The waiter was extremely rude and condescending. Made me and my friend feel strange and I won’t be going back.
Very nice restaurant at the Hotel Angeleno. It's not the nicest restaurant in Los Angeles but it's good. Nice view. Very good cocktails.
Couldn’t find the place
Love this place & the restaurant manager was very friendly. Staff, waitresses not so much but overall we had a good dinner.
The food was not good at all. Plus it was my birthday. I booked this place for the rave reviews of the city skyline. I was sat on the side with a view of the freeway. Not the view I expected to see on my birthday. But the staff was nice
Food was not the reason we came, though it was fair. The views were the highlights and did not disappoint even though we didn't sit by window being a larger party of 5.
I like that it was gratuity free, which restaurants should strive to pay a living wage so workers don't need to work for tips.
Nice views and pretty elegant restaurant. But that's as good as it gets for this place. The clam chowder tasted like it came out of a Campbell's tin can. The spinach and mushroom ravioli had a tomato sauce that tasted like it came from Vons. Likewise the teriyaki chicken stir fry tasted like it came from a deli hot bar. And the service was extraordinarily slow. Bottom line, come to this place for drinks and the view, but unfortunately, not the food :(
Most of the food was very good. Unfortunately the crab cakes Benedict was truly bad. I suspect they were store bought and overly deep fried. Could be wrong but that's how they seemed. Couldn't taste crab and it was more like a round over cooked fish stick texture.
went here for mother's day weekend with the hubby and my soon to be 2 year old. Loved the views and really enjoyed the french toast! Ambience was nice and overall a great experience! Will be coming back for future celebrations. Also a high five for the free valet : )
Inattentive and helpful waitress service.
They took about half an hour to bring us the food.
The food n service was excellent, it was my wife’s birthday n we had a great time
They told me i needed to wait for my date (we were a party of 2 black women) who had run back down to our hotel room 6 floors down before they would seat us which was fine when they said it but when we were leaving they sat another party of (2 white men) who were waiting on a third party without making them wait for their 3rd guest to be seated. They gave us both the wrong order. They sat us (and every other black party who came in on one side of the restaurant and the white people on the other side) by an obstructed view window between 2 very loud parties. They barely checked on us and how we were doing. When we ordered a red bull instead of bringing us the full can (that they charged us for) they brought a glass (about half a can) with the red bull filled with ice (when i mentioned it they did bring another glass filled with red bull and ice). Overall poor service i wouldn't come back. (The night before we went up and were told reservation only but we saw several parties come in with no reservations)
The food wasn’t that great . The prices were really steep for our food to not be that great

Fabulous view, fabulous drinks, and fabulous food!! Great night!
I could not attend, but my friends did. They loved it. The view, quality and taste of food and friendly professional waiters was amazing. There was adequate distancing too in this COVID pandemic era
Service was bad and slow food was not good quality for the price. Our appetizers arrived at the same time with our entrees. Despite our reservation and request to where we wanted to sit they sat us some where totally not to our liking and evem though the restaurant was empty they said those other tablea were reaerved.
We went for brunch on Sunday and had a great time! They had a jazz trio playing which made for a lovely brunch. Service was quick, food as excellent and the view was incredible---you can see all the way to the ocean! We will be back.
The food is good, though not necessarily unique or memorable. The setting is kind of cool — it has a deco vibe and a view, but on a Friday night it was somewhat dull and felt like a weird transient hotel vibe of families catching dinner after a flight and then teenagers on dates. I wouldn’t argue going back, but I’m also not going to go out of my way.
The place was empty and the service was slooooooww. The crab Louie had bell pepper, which was not disclosed on the menu. My salmon was over cooked and arrived cold. The only redeeming food item was the French fries. They’re great fried in duck fat, and would’ve been even better served hot. Won’t be back.
