Reservation of 12 to 20 guests are available at lunch.
Innovative food and a great wine list (as long as you like biodynamic wines) in a fun and relaxed setting. You can also sit at the bar and enjoy watching the chefs at work.
We have been long time avid fans of this restaurant and go often - however last week was disappointing. We were late to be sat (around 25 mins which at a late table was leaving it late to eat) and the food was just mediocre this time - some items were good (sea bass was to be recommended) but we got some plaice which wasn't good at all. We will def try again as I have given them 5* reviews previously but hoping this local secret isn't going downhill
Fantastic atmosphere, Really buzzing with really interesting and fresh tasting dishes. Couple of things not cooked perfectly.
We love Westerns Laundry! So nice in London to be greeted by a warm and friendly team. Food always delicious and varied.
Looking forward to our next visit
Tasty food, changing menu, great service and a lovely atmosphere. A little noisy because of the open kitchen but amazing smells and a lovely setting.
The food was incredible, particularly the confit garlic and ricotta, the confit pig cheek and the sea bass. We were sat at the bar which was great for watching the chefs and the lighting and bustle made the room very cosy on a very rainy evening.
Wow!! I had a few hour layover in London, booked this place because of the reviews and it was well worth it. I’ll come back again if I’m ever in London.
The space and atmosphere are fantastic. The kind of place I would like to go regularly if the food was better. The natural wines are pretty unpleasant. The food was generally under seasoned and some things were rather odd - faro with red wine had very unpleasant taste of raw alcohol. We both left feeling rather queasy. Menu was very light on vegetable options, which is a real shame and at odds with current trend for lighter more plant based food. I’m by no means a vegan, but definitely like eating vegetables as well as everything else. Unfortunately I would be unlikely to return, which is a shame because it’s a lovely place to spend an evening
Delicious food, wonderful wine, gorgeous atmosphere, attentive and thoughtful waiter. Overall fabulous evening
Took an opportunity to get a table and wasn't disappointed, food was lovely, some very accomplished cooking here with great seasonal ingredients, super wine by the glass and not the usual fare. Very knowledgeable waiter who judged the level of attention perfectly and a great sound track, not so loud that we could not speak to each other comfortably. Cool, pared back space clearly enjoyed by all who were dining there.
Highly recommend this great restaurant. Delicious food with very exciting and changing menu.
Amazing menu of delicious food. Will definitely return to see what more delights they have to offer
Really cosy setting despite shared tables - the decor is beautifully done, lots of warmth, character and lovely details. I would love to have the chairs in my house. Food and wine list on point and absolutely delicious. Waitstaff sweet, maybe a tad too enthusiastic at times (at the age of 55 I know what to do with an artichoke and sharing plates, thanks), all in all a really great experience!
wonderful oasis next to a football stadium. beautiful light filled room, long tables, v family friendlly for a sunday brunch. food was simple but expertly done, humble pasta with wilted greens and fried bread crumbs much more than a sum of its parts, pork collar delicately marinated and grilled, and the pork head croquettes, although hard to stomach intellectually, were served alongside the most amazing zingy aromatic pickled red cabbage. the feather steak had the most french ie butter laden mash. heaven.
Wonderful atmosphere. Superb food and wine and an attentive and sensitive waiter. All round memorable experience. Worth every penny.
Really nice selection of dishes perfect for sharing. All tasted really good especially the pumpkin and monkfish
Although the food is very good, we were disappointed about the pacing of dishes- too fast. We felt pressured to order everything at the beginning, but we really needed to order main dishes after the starter. Wine list very expensive. The waitress could have been more helpful.
Delicious small plates and well-chosen wine list. Very friendly and efficient service. Desserts could be better. Overall really enjoyed lunch here.
Great ambience. Friendly and efficient service. Original food.
Food is always reliably delicious here, and service very friendly.
The food was exceptional.
Great food, fantastic service, great venue, awesome wine list, really no faults in this place.
Food was absolutely fantastic but the room was very loud and it was at some point difficult to hear the waitress' recommendations.
Food was fantastic but the wine was terrible and very overpriced
Marvellous neighbourhood restaurant serving much more than just seafood. The only downside is that most tables are shared, and therefore there is no privacy when going for a date. It's cosy, not much space per couple. Still, the food is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is great. Will definitely go again!
Brilliant as always. Delicious oysters and Fideo. They are no longer just serving orange wine which is a good development.
Excellent food in a comfortable, cool space. Note: They will not accept your OT dining check here even though they are not on the exclusion list.
To good, every time ! London’s best neighbourhood restaurant
Fantastic! Fresh, seasonal, well cooked food. Couldn’t fault it and the building is beautiful. The beetroot was outstanding! Perfect way to while away a few hours on a Sunday!
Lovely place, excellent food. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
It was our second time at the restaurant and everything was perfect again. Service amazing, food is incredible and a good selection of wine and cocktails.
I booked a table for two around 10 days in advance for an anniversary meal. When we arrived we were given seats at the bar on rather insubstantial bar stools. This is not my idea of a special meal and I complained that we had not been asked if that was acceptable. I have a disability and issues with my knees make sitting on a bar stool difficult. The waiter was unsympathetic and unapologetic. We were told that we could have the next table for two available but had to start our meal and wait forty minutes for this. I found the service unacceptably poor, particularly as I explained about my disability. I would not recommend that you book at Westerns Laundry.
Such a great find! We went on a hot summer's evening so were able to enjoy drinks in the courtyard. Staff were very relaxed about us delaying sitting down to eat. It's basically one big semi-communal space so it's either very buzzy or a bit noisy depending on your preference but we had no problem with it being too noisy for conversation. Since they recommend 7/8 dishes for four people to share It's a fairly limited menu (we didn't quite go through the lot). But everything we tried was delicious - smoked sardines, raw courgette salad and crispy pig's head with pickled red cabbage were stand-out dishes (pig's head is diced and cooked in breadcrumbs, you don't see the whole thing). Service super-friendly and made us feel very relaxed but also highly efficient. Even with four bottles of wine total bill was only £50 a head. Thoroughly recommended.
Especially nice on a summer evening with a glass of wine outside to start!
Thoroughly enjoyed all the food (best crab and mussels our party had ever experienced). Service was exemplary, noise levels were too high for older member of our group but perfect for younger crowds.
Another visit to this oasis on Holloway Road - excellent tapas (fish is the speciality) and an adventurous wine list. The restaurant's custom of seating diners on a corner of a shared table rather than opposite each other helps to reduce the inevitable noise.
Food was excellent, absolutely outstanding! And the service was just fantastic. We were a booking of 6 and we all loved it!
Absolutely loved every dishes and the overall experience. We would definitely go back and recommend it to our friends
Loved the atmosphere and the staff were great and food some of the best we have eaten in a while - since Primeur, the sister restaurant. will def go back
This was a high end dining experience in a relaxed environment. Really recommend.
