Anchovies were amazing! Lobster was underwhelming / overpriced- small portion of lobster in a big dish of pasta, though delicious.service was great! Ravioli and ceviche was excellent! Lovely atmosphere!
Delicious food, lovely service but very hard to talk to my friends which was really the reason I was there.
Excellent!! Food is delicious, the ambience is lively and the staff is really nice. Great for a Friday night dinner I the neighborhood.
I love how low key and unceremonious this place is. Every dish we had was clever and delicious, served without pomp, and with exceptional friendliness. A brilliant place all round.
The menu is constantly changing and it's always exciting, different food. Lots of meat and seafood options. A few for veggies too. Nice wines and cocktails. Great service, very friendly. It's a nice place to go on a date or with a foodie friend.
Fantastic food. Small plates to share were nice. Busy and fairly loud exciting experience. Overall wonderful meal
Excellent food, excellent service. Really enjoyed it. Thank you!
All the food is lovely and to the same standard. Staff / service is also excellent, friendly and professional.
Wonderful food, very nice people. Wine is pricey but I suspect it fairly reflects the cost of production.
As always, we had a fantastic experience dining at Westerns Laundry.
Wonderful attentive waiters. Incredible food with cool and edgy vibes. Highly recommend!
Well worth the journey from the slums of SW11 to fashionable N5. The food and service were excellent and I will return.
Food and service was excellent, but they need to sort out the acoustics. It was deafeningly loud (conversation not music). Highly recommended otherwise
Great ambience with an Australian feel to it. Expensive wine, service a bit patronizing but good food.
Everything on our plates was delicious. I am coeliac and the waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful, advising on the gluten free options. Restaurant was nicely lit with a good vibe. Good for a romantic dinner.
The only downside was the expensive wine list and no drinks served after 11 (we had the late sitting).
Was utterly brilliant - the best place to spend my birthday with friends but also a wonderful place to go for a relaxed date - or anything in fact!
Hidden neighbourhood gem - off Holloway Road in Islington. Great vibe matched by the food and friendly staff. Excellent value...I'm not the biggest fan of natural wines, but loved the compact and bijou blackboard menu....
Sensationally delicious but simple and bold pairings. Reliably. Perfect service. Lovely place. And great value for the quality. An all time favourite.
I've been to the sister restaurant Primeur often and knew what to expect regarding food and enjoyed this one as much. Beautifully cooked fish and a list of more palatable low intervention wines rather than full on natural (I thought). Perhaps I should have given more thought to my order or asked advice about the combination of dishes but that doesn't distract from the food itself. Do check the menu daily, that dish you loved last week probably wont' be on the menu.
Food, ambience was great. Shame about the impatient aloof service we received. It really did spoil the whole evening.
U guys do a brilliant job !!! ....always great......glad to see you have some alternatives to natural wine. You are either a fan of it or not......
As wonderful as ever, the fish was perfection on a plate.
Really lovely weekend lunch. Great service, tasty food and good wine.
Beautiful setting and fantastic service. The food overall was delicious - particularly enjoyed the pork chops and the octopus pasta. On thing we were disappointed with was the Turbot Head - it was tasty and came with a nice leafy salad, but wasn't very much meat on it. Aside from that, it was a lovely meal and I would certainly return.
Great friendly service, delicious food and a brilliant last minute find. Fairly priced for the quantity and quality you are getting, but don't go expecting a cheap meal.
The menu is made up on the day based on what they get, so everything is fresh, go earlier in the day to avoid missing out on dishes that run out.
Great ingredients, great cooking and charming service from knowledgeable young people. Could you include a few standard wines alongside the non intervention ones - to me the often oxidised taste, especially of your whites, obscures the pleasure of the grape and terroir.
Had a lovely meal here. It’s not the cheapest but the food is fresh and the menu is unique and obviously thought out. It has a really great atmosphere and we’ll definitely go again.
A great find while visiting London, incredible food, service and a very attentive staff.
Excellent food and some interesting wine choices
We had a great evening at Westerns Laundry! The food was impeccable with plenty of different small plates to choose from. They have a fab wine list too and it’s all natural. The service was great too, our waiter was very friendly and suggested a few dishes worth trying. The atmosphere was beautiful with lots of natural light. Would definitely go back and rwcommend to others!
My son summed up our experience: Sit Communally, Eat Badly, Leave Hungry...and pay a fortune for the privilege, and he is someone who is very happy to spend money on good food.
I'm afraid this is a pretentious start-up that will have it's day and then fade away.
The food was really pretty and tasty; the service was confident, knowledgeable and attentive; and the ambience was a good blend of smart and casual. Definitely worth a visit, I’ll certainly be going back.
Food was fantastic - especially fideo pasta which is apparently a house speciality and recommended by the kitchen.
Terrific and delicious and a delight to find and spend time at. Creative innovative and scrumptious food
We had a couple of seats at the counter and could watch the chefs going about their business preparing the food which all looked delicious. The waiters were very friendly and quite clearly enthusiastic about what they are serving. The menu was quite heavy on fish and seafood and when the food arrived we weren't disappointed. The crispy cod's cheeks were amazing and you couldn't find better pickled anchovies in Spain. I'm sure we will be back.
Went there with mum and three teenage kids for her birthday. Nice welcome and easy seating. They were ready for our table at 8.15pm. Restaurant packed and so very busy. Was going to get a bottle of champagne to celebrate but cheapest was at £75... which to me is unacceptable. Wines were also very expensive, cheapest white at £38! Again unacceptable. The tapas-style food was different and good quality but we all left hungry as portions so very small. Sole at £25 was tasty but again so expensive. Best dish was beef shin at about £15. Puddings were tastee but again, very expensive at around £7-£8 each. We all shared dishes which was fun and nice way to get kids trying new things. We went for a Viognier white @£38 each which was very pale and delicious but again so expensive. We all discussed the meal afterwards and everyone enjoyed the experience. Service was quick and efficient. But at nearly £300 for what is glorified tapas, I wouldn’t recommend this place purely on its outlandish cost.
As ever amazing. Food exceptional, highlight was the beef shin with saffron spelt and gremolata. We wanted to order it for a second time ! Don’t hesitate to visit Westerns - you will not be disappointed :-)
This is the third time I’ve eaten at westerns laundry and every time I’m so impressed. I rang before to warn, that I am on a very restricted diet - no gluten, grains, dairy or eggs, meat, and every time I have dined there it has been fantastic. The waiters are very knowledgable and the menu caters very well to a dairy or GF diet. The food is fantastic - creative, unusual and beautifully presented. The ambience and environment is relaxed yet the whole experience feels very special.
One thing which would be amazing is if they could offer a sorbet for dairy / GF dessert. Westerns is also wonderfully hidden resteraunt - and possibly my favourite in London.
I was disappointed as they did not have the fidua that I use to order since I have been to this place many times
This is a wonderful restaurant. Its an example of really nailing the small dishes to share concept. Some of the highlights of the food were the beetroot dish, the butter beans and the john dory. The service was super and I hope to be back sometime. The only slight complaint was that it was a cold evening and our table close to the door was drafty.
