Awaiting manger to return my email to rectify our awful visit, will right another review once he has been in touch
A lovely bar and restaurant with great service. The pizzas are amazing
A great venue, nothing is too much trouble. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the bar/ eating area is kept well. Food is good and value for money especially the 2 for 1 pizza deal.
very relaxed and lovely hotel...staff very pleasant ...food superb ...
Lovely food, staff very helpful
. Highly recommend
Brilliant night stay here, food was amazing and service was brilliant. Hoping to have our wedding here!
The Westmead Hotel is a gem if you want great food at very reasonable prices (I expected to pay much more being a hotel). Their pizza offer is something not to be missed!
Excellent service with delicious food - excellent clean environment- toilets spotless
Service was very slow and our pizzas took over an hour to arrive - there was 4 of us
limited menu due to covid.large portions good value.
Gorgeous Sunday lunch, lovely meat and vegetables. Staff were helpful and friendly. Very very quiet but due to COVID I’m guessing.
Lovely family restaurant, lovely food & helpful staff.
Booked for Sunday lunch as a treat to the end of a weeks holiday. We had a lovely time. The service was excellent and the food was very good standard, as always. We are going to book again in 2 weeks time. Thank you to all the staff at the Westmead for keeping us safe and making our lunch experience special.
Very comfortable. Good friendly staff. Covid dealt with very well
Great food and relaxing environment. Food exceptionally good
Fantastic service. Nothing was too much trouble and the waiter was able to fully explain the menu for 2 guests with dietary requirements.
Went for the wife’s birthday and had the special deal for the 2-4-1 pizza’s.
The service was great, greeted at the door and shown to our table.
The drinks order was taken and given enough time to look through the menu.
The Westmead was busy and when the starters were brought over the waiter apologised for the delay but we didn’t mind.
The food was hot on arrival and could tell that had it had been cooked with passion and love and tasted just as good as it looked.
Even in these times of social distancing the staff were attentive and were friendly and would recommend
Lovely Sunday lunch and so much!
The 6 of us were all very pleased with our meals and the value for money
Lovely Sunday roast. The staff went above and beyond to make our experience very welcoming and enjoyable. They maintained excellent social distancing and I will definitely be returning soon. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
The food was excellent! Would 1000% recommend!
There were only five persons in the bar area for lunch. Very quiet but food good and it was a nice ambience.
Lovely Sunday lunch, there were 9 of us and all thorougly enjoyed the food. The service was excellent, cannot praise the experience highly enough. Will definately return!
We went on the last August bank holiday which was the last day of Eat Out to Help Out. There were a few large groups so a little noisier than usual but not terrible. We both ordered pizzas but mine came with BBQ sauce and peppers, neither of which were mentioned on the menu. My partner was given a black currant cheesecake rather than the strawberry and baileys he had ordered. It was all very tasty as usual but not quite what we had ordered. Service was excellent as usual. It was probably the busiest day they had had for a while so the odd mistake is forgivable and we will be returning.
Very friendly staff. Quality, hot food. Pleasant atmosphere
Staff atentive but not overly food hot and enjoyable very clean would definitely go back
Although we live quite close to the Westmead we never think of it as a place to pop in. Was looking for somewhere to eat at short notice. Booked and arrived 15 minutes later. Great welcome and hospitality. Very quiet and Covid safe! Had the most amazing pizza 👍 Will be returning- thank you 😊
A fantastic find, food is exceptional well presented and large portions. Mixed grill is huge fantastic value for money. All staff were friendly the hotel owner also took time out to say hello to my little grandson. Would highly recommend
We had such a lovely and welcoming dining experience. The food was fantastic and the staff are so friendly. Can’t wait to go again. Thank you
Enjoyed our eating experience at The Westmead. It was quiet the time we chose but the food and wine were excellent. We would certainly book again and the venue is very handy to where we live.
The food was tremendously overpriced for what it was . There was a lack of gluten free options . The staff were polite and friendly they were the star of the restaurant
Smart, clean, calm decor. The noisy music didn't fit with this. Not sure if this was the reason why the table of older gentlemen drinkers near us were just so loud. Fine so long as you don't want to talk to your date! Delicious woodfired pizzas. Service was really good until the end when we waited ages to get our bill. Might give it another go sometime in hope that it would be a better experience.
Fantastic meal and service.
Food was nice enough, service was really slow and disorganised unfortunately.
Lovely restaurant based within the hotel. Nice decor. Bit quiet prob due to current situation but suited us. Friendly attentive staff even came and thanked us for supporting their business. Food lovely from lunch menu, club sandwich, burger and omelette with fries. Whilst there I clocked the afternoon tea so I have rebooked to go again next week to have my own! That’s speaks volumes for a review!
Now I fully understand that we took advantage of the 'Eat out to help out' offer. It is the main reason we decided to give it a go having lived in the area for so long and never visited. Prices always looked above average and wouldn't have taken the risk otherwise, that's the beauty of the offer, you can try to find new eateries that you wouldn't mind paying full price next time and you could have a new place to frequent!
Unfortunately it wasn't to be. Staff were fine, no problem at all. Polite, not invasive. However the food was a different story... Now I didn't complain, we were paying £20 less with the offer after all and were thankful for it. The tartlet my better half had was rubbery and not inspiring. The buffalo wings I had were just deep fried wings and the edge feathers off the tips hadn't even been fully removed. No buffalo coating - the seasoned flour and hot sauce before deep frying - had been added,or added after. They literally were deep fried and seasoned extremely lightly with cayenne and served with an uninspiring sloppy blue cheese dip.
We ordered the slow cooked pork and mashed potato which looked like just a roast dinner only smaller with what seemed like frozen green beans, a few carrots and mash with a light gravy. I had the Cajun chicken which was supposed to come with Frank's hot sauce but was served with BBQ sauce instead. A few frozen chips, coleslaw with too much mayo ( it happens often, the mayo is only supposed to bind the ingredients, not ' be' the ingredient). The chicken was moist which was good and it was hot. In fact both meals were at least hot in temperature. I ordered some Nacho's as a side but they got forgotten. Not the end of the world and we were offered a free dessert by the staff which, although declined, was appreciated.
The menu seemed scaled down which meant that we couldn't actually test the menu fully to actually judge if we would go back. On the basis of the poor food we wouldn't go back anyway.
As usual the food and service was excellent and that is what keeps us coming back. The only thing that lets this place down is the ambience, the restaurant needs some soft furnishings to dampen noise levels down and make it more interesting and the bar area desperately needs a focal point. Either move the pizza oven to a more central location or perhaps get a fireplace?
Visited during dine out help out booked well in advance no one to check is in on arrival .
Service was poor waited over an hour for a pizza no one checked on us afterwards no one cleared table no one asked if wanted anything else waitress was disinterested all staff huddled behind the bar ... had to ask for bill then it came full price and expected me to pay before I’d checked it
Good job I did as was no discount on !
Could get attention had to take to bad and pay and point it out
Pizzas were. Very good tasty and well cooked the only saving grace won’t return in a hurry as service so poor
Lovely food, however little over priced for what we had. However it worked out though due to deal but would have felt disappointed if had paid full price. Exceptionally clean and the staff were all excellent. It was nice to come back to the Westmead as it was 25 years this week since we got married there.
Food was delicious.
Service was outstanding.
The two ladies serving were helpful and polite
