Lovely place- brilliant food. Will definitely be back
We went Xmas Eve with our children thinking we would beable to get into the Christmas spirit but the place had no atmosphere and had depressing music playing we left as soon as we had finished our food because we couldn’t enjoy ourselves there and to be honest I won’t be going again the food is t that good for the price
Unfortunately our Sunday Xmas Lunch was not as good as previous week,
Service was as good as ever, so will return
Recently had lunch at The Westmead, my first time at this restaurant with 3 friends. All food was excellent although the crumble could have been a bit warmer. Good service, ambience not quite right but I think this was because all the other guests were in larger groups. Will return in the evening to see what that is like. Would recommend to others to try. Great value for money.
We came for a late Sunday dinner (6pm) so maybe this was why the food was not great. But the vegan Wellington was soggy, the roast potatoes were very dry and chewy, no Yorkshire puddings!’
The first bottle of wine we chose (Dead something Malbec) was horrible! But it was a screw top so probably not corked. Just not very nice.
Service was fine but a couple of requests were forgotten (e.g tap water and food swaps) but very pleasant.
Music was not fitting with the time of day and far too loud. I think we were the only table eating in there so ambience was a little dry.
Overall we were very disappointed with our Sunday dinner!
Used to go here a lot and the food was great. Not sure what happened on this occasion.
Overall the service was acceptable , but it could have been more customer orientated. The meals were delivered and just put on the table without a smile or asking if there was anything else that we wanted or needed. My colleague whom I recommended the hotel to was not impressed with the service.
Delicious Christmas Pizza, Burger and Fish and Chips. Service was a bit slow considering there were not a lot of customers in, but staff pleasant and all in all a very good meal.
We booked and arrived on time, we had no waiter to seat us to a table, we waited and then eventually called a waiter over to seat us. The menus took a while to come. Once the drinks were ordered, they took a while to come out, only one waiter was serving and we were the only guests! When my wine did come, it had a fly in it!
Drink was changed and then the wait for the starter, no bread rolls or anything whilst we were waiting. The mains came out about 20 mins after the starter was collected. I was not impressed at all, better service in a Wetherspoons..
good food, good service pleasant relaxed dining experience
Disappointed in the venue as was expecting more of a restaurant experience rather than just an area within the hotel bar.
Extremely enjoyable hotel and restaurant, lovely food with a good range of food on the menu.
Came for are 10th Anniversary we got married here so came back .
The meal was nice hot and tasty and looked beautiful.
Staff friendly and helpful, was a nice place for a drink as well, didn't feel rushed to eat are meal . Will be going back.
Great food great service lovely atmosphere
We booked to take my 99 yr old father for a nice meal, only to find that we were sharing the restaurant with a wedding party
The noise was deafening and we couldn’t even hold a conversation!!!
When we arrived we were the only people there which was great got seated and had a drink - took a while ordering as chatting! The food took quite a while to come out but in the meantime the bar had filled quite extensively. The food arrived and it was OK - going cold but again OK. There were only two guys working and no more than that so they were running around sorting everybody out which for two of them was quite a mean feat. The area my friend and I were sitting in got very busy and very noisy with people making noise from two pieces of wood! That was challenging! based on that and the general noise in the bar we decided to go and sit in the foyer on the comfy sofas!! All the while the bar manager running backwards and forwards sorting customers out. Fair play to him and the waiter they did a great job.
Relaxing atmosphere, food was good and so was service. Clean environment, toilets were spotless.
Always enjoy coming back for Woodfired pizza.
We had our reception 10th Sept 1994
The Westmead did us proud.
We don't come as often as we would like we live in Kingswinford the otherside of Stourbridge.
Well done Westmead !
Only one slight criticism tell the chef to make sure more meat on the pizza.
Great food great service great time as always. Love this place
Food was excellent as usual.
Can’t recommend enough.
Will be back in the next few weeks
Covid measures excellent and staff helpful and friendly
The in house made pizzas are absolutely delicious, we couldn't believe how good it was.
All of the servers were so lovely and helpful, especially Marius who always wanted to help and made sure everyone was happy and taken care of, just such amazing service from start to finish, thank you for making the night so enjoyable!
The food was ok but not great We had to wait along time for it and there wasn't much on the plate for the prices charged We were hungry again just a couple of hours afterwards
I think more could be done for a better dining experience
Attentive and helpful staff, lovely food and pleasant environment.
We were the only diners in the restaurant at 3pm. The chairs were covered with crumbs. The floor was littered with paper straws and orange peel, needed to be vacuumed the table base was dirty. There was no background music until 2 more diners came. The choice of lunchtime menu was a little below par.
Service was slow... food was served about an hour after arriving. One of the meals fell short of standard expected.
Friendly and attentive staff. Food was delicious, arrived in good time and generous portions. Highly recommend.
Booked to have two vegan afternoon cream teas to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
There were 2 types of sandwiches (vegan cheese & Mayo, hummus & red cabbage) but on the menu it said there should have been 3 types of sandwiches.
The scones were lovely, served warm.
The cakes were shop bought. Three types of cakes from a brand called Oggs, which you can buy in Sainsburys.
Complained to the manager, he gave us 50% discount which was fine. Was just a disappointing experience and something I could have just made at home. It’s a shame the chefs/cooks went to such little effort, especially as we were the only customers in the entire restaurant.
The waitresses and staff were lovely. The manager discounted what he could when we complained. Shame it seems just standard practice to buy shop bought products instead of the chefs actually making the food themselves in the restaurant, and also not serve whats on the menu.
Would loved to have made this a regular place to go as we moved to the area a year ago. However, won’t be returning.
I love the freshly cooked food and plenty of it, unfortunately my meal was just warm when it was brought out. The restaurant is also very cold, it could do with some heating
We came here last night
With only around 6 tables outside and few people to be served we found the service to be very poor and slow.
We had starters which were lovely and then our mains came out 30min later. We asked for more drinks to be bought out with our dinner and was told oh sorry i forgot you wanted drinks.
The tables weren't even 1 meter apart and felt very uncomfortable having a private conversation with the next table sitting right next to us.
Mains were very bland no flavour and very limited menu.
We wont be reccomending the westmead to anyone as we didnt enjoy our experience
Very enjoyable evening eating al fresco with heaters in close proximity to keep the comfort and the food simple and well presented and hot.
Lovely cocktails, friendly service but food was a let down.
The chicken wings were cold on the inside with the garlic cheese flatbread not having any garlic on it. It was 50 minutes between the starters and mains. The mains were warm except the chicken and bacon on the salad which were colder than the lettuce. It also came with hidden anchovies which were not explained on the menu. The waiters were really friendly but sadly the food wasn’t up to the same standard.
Great prices considering the value
Overall the staff made our experience something to be cherished. I cannot much for the for the food. The food came over an hour late, at a time when it was empty. If you want good food this may not be the place. If want great customer service then this is the place for you.
This was a very good place to dine in these times . We all injoyed the food and even the chef cooked us something that was not on the menu. We will be going back when the covid restrictions are lifted
They didn’t serve pizza until after 5pm and we got there for 3pm so was a little annoyed. Plus I asked for a seat with a covering and heater but this wasn’t fulfilled on the day.
Food was nice.
Really nice food, chilled atmosphere, good prices too :)
Very good considering
We Sat & eat outside under the patio heaters nice & warm
Food was fab (lamb koftas to start wow - chicken & ribs combo main meal delicious
Sunday roast was amazing. Excellent service and a lovely location
We had Sunday lunch here this previous weekend.
My husband and I were very impressed with the food, wine and the attentive staff.
We had our 2 children with us, who enjoyed dinner from the children menu too and a highchair was waiting for us at our table for youngest child. The canopy overhead makes the seating area comfortable in the warm weather.
Squid was beautiful, also my acquaintance starter and main was delicious. Slight shame that my steak was well over done even though I asked for rare. But in all fairness it tasted nice with the peppercorn sauce. Will definitely be visiting again though!
