Westminster Kitchen Grill House
Convenient to London Eye and a quick hop over to Westminster.
The service was slow and the appetizer we ordered never came out to our table, but it appeared on the guest check. We then had to ask to have it removed, which took even longer.
Not a bad place if you are a weary traveler and need a pint and some food.
The service wasn't BAD, but neither of the staff members who served us engaged at all. In fact, when we were shown to our table, the waitress just dropped the menus on the table and walked off.
The food was expensive, considering you could get the same in an average pub, as were the drinks.
Food was good but nothing special. Wouldn’t return because it felt like a tourist trap. Waiters brought half the drinks and we kept on having to ask for the other half which took awhile (asking for two tap beer), took a order incorrectly because of a slight language barrier. Because of its location and prices would expect much more.
Worst Burger ever - Dry, burnt meat; burnt bread; didn‘t ordered onions or bacon - got both.
And above all, the table and seats haven‘t been cleaned valued since the start of 2019..
Absolutely brilliant - one of the best, and certainly most reasonably priced places, I have eaten in London - loved the pro immigrant comment on the bill and, in honour of my dad who was an immigrant, I will be eating there again - great choice on the menu and excellent quality - fabulous!!
A lovely meal with good wine and friendly staff. Gets busier later in the evening but a great place to relax
We needed a late meal(22.30) and there was not much choice but really glad we found this place on Open Table. Service was welcoming and friendly, choice of menu good, delivery and taste better than expected so thank you Westminster Kitchen
the food is really bad, and no service at all.
Couldn’t find our booking but seated us straight away. Food was mediocre. When we asked for dessert menu was told that the manager would not serve us dessert and obviously wanted us gone. We did not feel welcome. Maybe ok for tourists who visit once but locals obviously not welcome.
Had a great diner for 2 here, the wine was very good, the food (duck) was outstanding, although the portions were somewhat small. Only downside was that there were no deserts. (Due to it being christmas day). This, alongside with the somewhat small size of the portions left us feeling still a bit hungry at the end of the night. But overall a great place to have diner, with excellent food.
Food was good but service wasn’t fantastic. Grumpy and distant. Not exceptionally rude but not welcoming either
Disappointing late Sunday lunch - water was poured into wine glasses, ordered a bottle of prosecco to celebrate a birthday and once it was opened was offered "to taste it" ??? not quite sure why.
3 of us ordered 2 courses
Starters came quickly
calamari with mayonnaise - ok, deep fried camembert with strawberry sauce - ok just looked a bit fake and my roasted beetroot with crumbled feta cheese came out as grilled goats cheese with a sliced plain boiled beetroot and salad garnish.
Table cleared by another server, and main entrees followed
Spaghetti carbonara - ok, 10oz ribeye or sirloin steak, chips and peppercorn sauce which looked like instant granules with white pepper and peppercorns in the bottom luke warm.
My lamb shank on mashed potato and sauce came out about a minute later after some confusion on the pass but was delivered nice and hot .
A side of onion rings never got put on the order in the kitchen so we waited to see if they would come when the server checked back.
They also did not however take that off the bill so that had to be rectified.
Its not a warm and inviting atmosphere and too brightly lit, food is better than the service.
Nice dinner after a long and pleasant day in Londen
I have never known such fast service, anywhere. They must have all of the food ready and waiting to be heated up. It took less than 5 minutes from ordering to receiving a lamb shank and beef goulash which was very bland. The ‘mixed vegetables’ turned out to be carrots with 2 boiled potatoes.
We were so looking forward to trying this and were left rather disappointed.
This was terrible, the food wasn’t fresh. The wine quality was very poor. Definitely never going back.
I was really looking forward to dining at this restaurant and the ambiance was very nice, but we were disappointed in the food. My wife had soup and salad and the soup was homemade and very good. My son had chicken wings that were both overly greasy and flavorless. I ordered the crispy duck which was equally as greasy with absolutely nothing crisp about it. Also, we got a side on onion rings for the table. While they tasted fine, we received three onion rings - basically a garnish. Our server never came back to check on us or give us an opportunity to order more drinks. Overall a disappointment and overpriced for what we received. I wish it had been better!
Spaghetti Bolognese almost has none beef mince, crispy duck was over cooked in very bad tasting. My friend need hot water for take medicine, then we were told hot water will charge £1.95, very terrible service. Will never visit again.
Went here as it was near where we were and it had a kids menu. Overall the food was good. My lamb chops were tasty, although they were under cooked (I asked for medium rare and they were very rare). The two chicken dishes were both good. My daughter got chicken nuggets from the kids menu. She did not like them and honestly they looked like t he type you would get out of a bag. The service was ok. The place is loud and filled with people with kids (like us, so I was fine with this, but so people know what to expect).
Our order was wrong multiple times and the ambiance wasn’t great, but they did their best to make up for it and the food was great. So overall we had a good time!
Food was more on the bland side.
Service was slow, non-impressive.
Do not expect to visit this restaurant again.
Booked this restaurant as convenient to the London Eye with visiting friends from Australia. I should have know better - completely fell into the tourist trap syndrome. Service slow - restaurant not full, food very average - steaks very chewy and vine tomatos were half an under-grilled beef tomato, had to ask for the bill 3 times. Sorry but for a restaurant that has an open kitchen and promises great food and ambience this is an absolute no goer for me again.
I ordered a Vodka & Tonic, was served a Gin & Tonic, it was corrected immediately. The food was good, but it can be very loud when there are a lot of people with screaming children.
Food was excellent, service was very good. Will go again for sure.
Wasn’t what I thought it would be at all the food wasn’t bad but not what I thought
Tiny starter (three slices of beetroot & a bit of cheese for over £7). Pizza tasted like it was a frozen one. Food dropped on the table by rude staff.
Disappointed to have my main meal served while still eating my starter. Really bad service. The food was ok - chicken abit burnt.
My steak tasted great although I ordered medium rare not medium. The asparagus were the best I have ever eaten.
The staff were sloppy. Passing plates to me to pass on instead of walking around the table.
Booked for a pre theatre dinner and after reading other reviews nearly cancelled. However I cannot fault the service and we were not kept waiting.
Our table was booked for 5pm, so not peak time and the restaurant wasn’t that busy when we arrived. However, we waited 30 mins for anyone to take a drinks order. If we had been anywhere else other than London I would have left the restaurant but my family and I were tired after a long day sight seeing.
The food was ok when it came but the service was appalling.
When we asked for the bill no one came with it so I stood up to leave and paid at the bar on our way out. There was one man serving food who was trying his best and could see the issues but the rest of the staff were not interested. When I counted there were 8 staff but non of the others seemed concerned or bothered about people waiting.
And finally, the toilets were disgusting. I have seen cleaner public toilets.
I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone given our experience. The food was ok though, which is a shame.
I cannot stress enough how poor the service was in this restraunt from the moment we walked in it was obvious the staff were incompetent and unrestrained. The whole service was dreadful the worst moment being when the MANAGER brought my wife's main meal to the table even though she was still eating her starter. The only answer he gave to as why is that he told the kitchen 5 minutes. This led to an argument between myself and the manager which upset my young son and ruined our evening. If you are planning to go to this place please please please think again absolutely dreadful.
Food was oke but no atmosphere and starter wasnt finished yet the main course come directly after that.
Food was average. Service was poor. Wouldn’t go back.
Awful! Complete disappointment for my boyfriends surprise meal. Lovely gentlemen staff. Shame about that awful manager!!!!!
Food was awful. Waiter was even worse. Left a full review on google. Won’t return
Lovely open plan design. Great atmosphere with friendly staff and a very varied and reasonably priced menu. Sadly let down by the dreadful condition of the gents toilet. Totally sloppy wet floor and the toilet seat was completely missing. Informed staff of this before ordering our meal. Before leaving the restaurant, not even the wet floor had been addressed!
My partner and I, visited your restaurant on Saturday the 17th of February, and ordered a very expensive (£30) Fillet steak, only for it to come out completely burned and not medium as requested. As well as this, it didn’t even taste remotely like a fillet cut of steak, and so was wholly disappointed with the fillet steak. In addition, the peppercorn sauce, if you can call it that, didn’t taste like peppercorn at all, was way too watery and tasted more like runny gravy. Now onto the meal I had, I chose the heavily praised rib-eye cut of steak also with the peppercorn sauce. Now, although my steak was cooked perfectly, it was nowhere near the 8oZ specified on the menu, and also looked more like donner kebab meat in oppose to a rib-eye cut of steak. My peppercorn sauce was also the same as my partners, being very runny and tasteless. As a result, we didn’t enjoy the food at all, and wished we hadn’t paid the £60 for our 2 meals, however, being only 18, didn’t feel like we could refuse to pay or complain as we felt we wouldn’t be taken seriously. However, your staff were very friendly and welcoming.
On the whole, not a very enjoyable evening having been served 2 poorly cut bits of steak.
P.S I have attached a photo of the burnt fillet and scraggy piece of “Rib-eye” steak so you can see for yourself.
Good but food was served extremely quickly no break between courses
Total torture - all steaks inedible , place empty and can see why - us visiting from Scotland were none the wiser
Avoid at all costs - service slow - drinks like water - food abismal !!
