If the restaurant is going to charge near to Sydney prices they need to lift the quality of the food (some too hot/some had been under warming lights far too long) and particularly service from wait staff

A great evening. One steak a bit tough on one end all other food delicious. Trouble with coffee dockets so coffee came at end of dessert rather than during which wld be better, been picky there! However, enjoyed the night lots, food and service wonderful. Thank you.

I love this restaurant, exquisite food, excellent service and a wonderful view. We always order the ‘Fruits De Mer’ this is not your average seafood platter for two, this one is very special. I would highly recommend this spot for a romantic dinner for two, particularly if you are hoping to make a good impression. Also well suited to larger functions. We will be back as always.

We would highly reccomend Whalebone Resturant. The food and service was excellent.

We requested a window table has we were celebrating our Mother's 88th Birthday which was lovely looking over the river.

All four of us had a lovely lunch and would highly reccomend you if you are visiting Port Macqurie it's a must.

Great location overlooking the water, and a lovely breeze with louvre windows.
The service and ambience was superb. Nice selection on the menu. Two sides with each main would have been better. Only criticism would be the hefty wine prices.
In all a fine dining experience.

Overall the service, food and atmosphere was good.
We go to many restaurants for seafood platters and this one was just not up there for us. The oysters were beautiful but the rest was quite average for what we paid. We understand that the cost was mainly due to the location - waterfront, however, not a place I’d go back to.

We really enjoyed our meal and the service. The only thing I'd mention is that the tap water offered tasted odd. Will get sparkling next time. Particular kudos to the dessert coconut sorbet and mango bavarois, absolutely delicious!

We hadn’t been to Whalebone since the current chef joined 3 years ago and we were NOT left disappointed! We knew before we arrived that we would be ordering the seafood tasting plate for 2 and it was, a light, delicious sample of all things seafood. A small but not shy portion of each dish that left us completely satisfied. The staff were polite and knew their stuff, and we liked that they didn’t smother us either. Tip: Don’t make the mistake of buying wine by the glass though if you end up having 3 glasses like I did! Go for a bottle instead, you can take it home if you don’t finish it. We will definitely return much sooner than we were able to this time.

Whalebone Wharf is a great place. $12 in an Uber from town, which is a good idea because the wine and cocktails can easily make driving bach a bad idea.
We had the seafood chowder which is magnificent and the seafood platter for two, also very, very good.
Emily is very attentive and knowledgeable, especially regarding wines and cocktails.
WW is definitely worth a visit next time you are in Port.

Right up there with the classiest restaurants. We chose a number of entrees rather than a main and each serving was superb. It will be a long time before I forget the quality and presentation of the scallops.

My husband and I dined at Whalebone for a special occasion and it did not disappoint.
The service was great and wait staff had excellent knowledge of the meals and accompaniments. The specials were advised in detail.
Our meals and sides were exceptional.
The extensive wine list has some excellent wines to select.
It was a great dining experience for our special night.

Stunning setting matched with terrific food. The scallops and oysters were fresh, simple - the perfect starters. My main course of crispy skinned barramundi and side vegetablesj of pumpkin were perfect.

The Barramundi & Atlantic salmon was delicious. However the side serving of “Greens” was an overwhelming bunch of broccoli. As we both ordered a side of greens It would of been nice for the waiter to advise maybe a different side choice for one meal.

The reception to being seated and our order taken was punctual, after that point there was no offer for further beverages and was difficult to attract waiters attention for this or to have the table cleared well after we had finished..

We decided not stay for desert and a cocktail as planned due to the service.

At checkout time we declined the presented offer of Tipping.
